Chapter 931 Leaving LA Forever
Kelvin never mentioned it to her, probably to spare her feelings.
"A waiter?" Penelope asked, incredulously. "You think some nobody like that could pull all this off?"
It seemed highly unlikely!
Drugging, knocking out Paul in the private room, moving four people to a motel... There's no way that could happen without some serious planning!
One misstep and the whole thing would be exposed!
Brandon's eyes flickered.
He knew Penelope wouldn't buy it, and Kelvin even less so.
But the scapegoat he put forward was the waiter!
All the suspicion and motive were pinned on the waiter! Brandon had already destroyed any other clues and evidence!
Kelvin wouldn't find anything.
No matter how much he investigated, only the waiter would take the fall! Nothing would lead back to Brandon!
"I don't know the specifics," Brandon replied, "but the waiter confessed."
Penelope's tone was firm, "No, it can't be the waiter. There must be someone behind him! Definitely! Last time, Kelvin and Thessaly..."
She was about to mention the intimate photos that were secretly taken, but suddenly realized something and stopped herself.
No need to let Brandon know about that.
Brandon knew everything but pretended to ask, "Mr. Davis and Thessaly? What happened?"
"Nothing," Penelope shook her head, refusing to say more.
"I took Thessaly home. She's very unstable emotionally and probably won't be able to work properly for a while. As for the lead actress role, it's always hers if she wants it."
Penelope clenched her fists. "Paul is a jerk!"
She had admired the young director before, thinking he was talented and decent. But she never expected... Paul took advantage of Thessaly when she was disoriented and actually had sex with her!
Thessaly could have stayed clean!
Paul didn't even drink the water!
"Penelope, Paul..." Brandon said guiltily, "I introduced him to Thessaly. I set them up. I didn't expect Paul to be like this."
After a few seconds of silence, Brandon added, "Of course, I'm no better. I'm just as much of a jerk, just as despicable!"
"Can we change the director?" Penelope asked, "I don't think Thessaly can continue working with Paul. She can't face him."
Though she hadn't known Thessaly for long, she understood her character.
Strong, independent, with solid principles, never accepting any shady deals, relying on her own efforts to act well and make a name for herself in the entertainment industry.
Thessaly just wanted to make a good movie, but ended up having sex with Paul by accident.
In the future, if any rumors spread, people might think Thessaly got the lead role by sleeping with Paul.
It would be impossible to clear her name!
"We can't change him," Brandon shook his head, "The director is the core and soul of a movie. You can't just replace him."
Actors can be replaced, producers can be replaced, even assistant directors can be replaced, but the director's position is irreplaceable!
Besides, Brandon wouldn't replace Paul.
Investing in this movie was his hush money for Paul!
Paul got the investment and slept with Thessaly, killing two birds with one stone, and he had leverage over Brandon, so he wouldn't betray him!
Penelope murmured, "What should we do? Thessaly definitely wants to act, but she doesn't want to face Paul..."
Just like she didn't want to face Brandon.

"No, I'm leaving LA for good."

Sure enough, Brandon said, "Since I woke up last night, I've been thinking about what to do, what to do to minimize the impact of this, to not affect your relationship with Kelvin, your life."
"Penelope, you've been married to Kelvin for years, you have kids, you have feelings. This can't ruin everything. Sam just returned to the Davis family. Don't let him experience family turmoil again."
"I'm a man, I should take responsibility and face reality. I... defiled you, it's my fault, so I'll leave, I'll disappear, I'll never appear in front of you and Kelvin again."
Penelope looked at him, "Brandon, you..."
She was shocked!
He was actually prepared to leave LA forever!

Kelvin walked over, stood beside her, and wrapped his arm around her waist, pulling her close.
"Kelvin?" Penelope was surprised, "Weren't you sleeping?"
When did he come? How much did he hear?
She hadn't noticed at all!
"You ask me? I haven't asked you," Kelvin said, "Why aren't you sleeping, running out here?"
"I couldn't sleep."
"I was asleep."
Penelope blinked. She knew he was asleep.
