Chapter 953 Mr. Foster Sends a Gift
For Kelvin, for the kids, she had to pull herself together, face life head-on, and keep a positive attitude.
That issue... the truth would come out eventually, and there'd be a resolution.
What she needed was to trust Kelvin!
The weather was getting colder.
Winter was just around the corner.
As they were heading out in the morning, Kelvin draped a cashmere coat over Penelope's shoulders. "Here, wear this. Don't want you catching a cold."
"Is it coat season already?"
"Yeah, the wind's pretty strong out there."
Penelope stood still, letting him help her with the coat.
She couldn't help but say, "Sam and Lucy can dress themselves now, but here I am... still needing your help."
Kelvin chuckled. "I don't mind."
"Okay," Penelope said, "but when the kids are around, can you not do this? They'll tease me."
"They'd love to see us even more in love."
Kelvin took her hand, wrapping it warmly in his, as they walked out of the house.
During the day, they went to work together and came home together.
In the evenings, they spent time with the kids, helped with homework, watched TV, and took walks.
This was the perfect life they had always dreamed of.
How lucky they were to keep living like this.
Penelope walked into the jewelry department and found a gift box on her desk.
"Who left this?" she asked curiously. "Is there something to celebrate in our department?"
Tina was quick to answer, "Penelope, Mr. Foster and Ms. Perez are together! They sent gift boxes to the whole company! You must have heard about it!"
"Of course I know, but... just for dating, they sent out gift boxes?"
"Mr. Foster did. Ms. Perez didn't show up."
Knowing Monica, she wouldn't have done this herself. She probably couldn't stop Timothy and didn't want to hand out the boxes herself, so she let him do it.
Besides, having your boyfriend publicly acknowledge you and spread the word is something to be proud of.
Being chosen, recognized, loved, and cared for, and receiving so many blessings—it's the epitome of a high-quality, perfect romance.
Penelope opened the gift box and found some snacks inside. She picked a piece of candy, unwrapped it, and popped it into her mouth.
A sweet, fruity flavor.
"If they're giving gifts just for dating, what will they do if they get married?" Penelope joked. "Will the whole company get bonuses?"
Tina looked surprised. "Penelope, how did you know? Did Mr. Foster tell you?"
"What?!"
"When Mr. Foster handed out the gift boxes, he said that when they get married, the whole company will be invited to the wedding, and there will be bonuses."
Penelope paused, then burst out laughing.
"Timothy's really going to give bonuses? I should look forward to that. With his style, the bonuses won't be small."
Tina nodded. "Of course, Penelope, your bonus will be the biggest of all! Because you're the matchmaker!"
"Oh, right." Penelope remembered, "I haven't asked Timothy for a reward yet."
"Go on, go on."
"Alright, I'll ask him later." Penelope smiled, "Tina, if you find someone, will you give me a gift box too?"
Tina, who had been all smiles and gossip, suddenly froze when the topic turned to her.
"Hey, how's it going? What stage are you at? You've been all smiles lately, always grinning at your phone. Things must be going well," Penelope teased.
Tina blushed and looked down. "Penelope, don't tease me."
"I'm just looking out for you."
"Well... we're taking it slow, just going with the flow," Tina said. "Being able to keep in touch with Mr. Smith outside of work is already more than enough for me."
Nathan was a wealthy man, seemingly out of reach.
Being near him made her happy.
"Feelings can't be forced. The more you rush, the worse it gets. Taking it slow and letting things happen naturally is best," Penelope nodded. "You're always smiling at your phone, chatting with Nathan, right?"
Tina nodded.
"Keep chatting." Penelope patted her shoulder. "I have high hopes for you two, just like I do for Timothy and Monica."
Tina looked conflicted, glanced around to make sure no one was listening, and couldn't help but ask, "Penelope, I read online that waiting for a guy to text back is the first step to unhappiness. Am I setting myself up for disappointment?"
"What??? Where did you get that idea?"
"I really look forward to Mr. Smith's messages," Tina said earnestly. "When my phone buzzes, I check it immediately. If it's him, I'm happy all day. If not, I'm disappointed."
Penelope laughed. "That's normal, don't overthink it."
"Is it? Did you ever wait for Mr. Davis to text you back?"
"My relationship with Kelvin was anything but ordinary, not something to use as a reference. Tina, don't compare yourself to me. You should be happier than I was."
Penelope had experienced a great deal of heartache in her love life.
Tina waved her hands. "No way, Penelope, you're the happiest woman in all of LA, no doubt about it."
"Tina, you'll have it too. You can't believe everything you read online. I saw something once that said feeling sorry for a man leads to a lifetime of unhappiness, and spending money on a man leads to three lifetimes of unhappiness."
Penelope gently explained, "That's when you give to someone who doesn't deserve it. But Nathan is definitely worth it. Every bit you give will be rewarded."
She added reassuringly, "If I'm wrong, come to me, and I'll make it up to you! Because I trust Nathan's character!"
Tina smiled brightly.
No matter what the outcome, she was content for now.
Having this happiness was worth it.
Penelope returned to her desk and started on her work.
At two in the afternoon, Thessaly would be coming to the Davis Group to shoot promotional photos and posters as the spokesperson for Adoring Cupid.
Penelope would be there the whole time.
Thessaly's signing as the global ambassador for "Adoring Cupid" had already been announced online.
Fans were celebrating everywhere.
"Congrats to Thessaly for landing a top domestic jewelry brand endorsement!"
"Thessaly is the best! Keep working hard, act, and improve your skills!"
"My favorite actress is collaborating with my favorite brand!"
Thessaly was also actively promoting Adoring Cupid on her official account.
Everything seemed to be progressing smoothly.
Thessaly's career was on the rise, with her own independent studio backed by Davis Group. No one in the entertainment industry dared to cross her, and she had her pick of great opportunities.
