Chapter 795 Sam, Welcome Back To Our Home
"Your face looks a bit off," Penelope asked, "Did something happen?"
Did something happen between the father and son while she went to pick up Lucy?
"No, everything's fine." Kelvin composed himself and opened his arms to Lucy, "Come here, Lucy, let me hold you."
He desperately needed Lucy to comfort his fragile heart!
Lucy was about to run to him, and he was ready to feel the joy and satisfaction of her embrace.
Sam asked, "Lucy, weren't you here to visit me at the hospital? Why did you go to Kelvin first? Don't you care about me anymore? Don't you love me?"
Lucy stopped in her tracks. Then, she turned and ran straight to the hospital bed.
"Of course not, Sam. Mommy told me you were hurt, and I was so worried!" Lucy stood by the bed, looking at him with concern, "It must hurt a lot, Sam. How could you be so careless?"
"It's not my fault. Someone else caused me to get hurt."
"But Mommy said you fell on your own."
Sam denied it, "It was someone else's fault that I fell. She didn't explain it clearly to you. How could I possibly fall like this on my own?"
"Yes," Penelope agreed, "I didn't explain it clearly, Lucy. Sam is so smart; he couldn't have fallen. It was all someone else's fault!"
Sam lifted his chin, "That's right. I would never do something as stupid as falling!"
Kelvin, sitting on the couch, darkened his gaze and withdrew his hand.
It seemed that Sam would be vying for attention in this household from now on.
He wanted to hug Lucy, but Sam immediately stopped him and called Lucy over.
This interception was too obvious!
Sam still refused to call him Dad. Did he also want to pull Lucy into his camp?
No way! Absolutely not! Kelvin wouldn't let that happen!
He had to come up with a way to deal with Sam's arrogance!
"Sam, does it hurt?" Lucy asked with concern, "How long until you recover?"
"It's just a minor injury; I'll be fine in a few days."
"But you have a cast on."
Sam replied, "I'm young and healthy. I recover faster than most people!"
Lucy pointed, "You also have bandages on your neck."
"It's not bleeding anymore; just waiting for the wound to heal!"
Sam's natural competitiveness and pride in front of girls were on full display!
"Sam, get well soon," Lucy said, "I'll come to see you every day after school! And look, you're so lucky; Dad and Mommy are both here with you!"
She gently placed her hand on Sam's shoulder and said earnestly and joyfully, "Sam, welcome back to our family! We're a family of four now!"
Sam was stunned.
She continued, "You used to live with Uncle Brandon and couldn't acknowledge me and Mommy. Now we don't have to hide anymore. Dad already knows who you are!"
"Sam, we can be together 24/7 again, never separated!" Lucy was genuinely happy.
She could proudly introduce him to others as her brother.
She had a brother now!
"Why are you suddenly saying all this?" Sam pouted, feeling a bit awkward, "It's so sentimental."
His eyes were starting to water.
"That's how I feel," Lucy looked up at Penelope, "Right, Mommy? You and Dad must feel the same way!"
Penelope nodded, "Yes, we welcome Sam back to the family. He's the bravest person in our family. We can't do without him."
The sense of ceremony in children was very strong.
Lucy's simple words almost brought Sam to tears.
Penelope thought she had been neglectful.
Sam's return to the Davis family was a big deal and couldn't just pass by.
He was also a child who longed for attention, love, and warmth!
"When Sam is discharged, we'll throw a party at The King Manor," Penelope said, "You can invite your classmates, friends, anyone you want to invite, to our home to welcome Sam officially moving into The King Manor!"
Lucy was the first to respond, "Great! We need to get a huge cake, taller than me!"
"No problem!"
"And we need balloons! Fireworks! Lots of lights, desserts, fruits, and drinks."
Penelope pinched her cheek, "Lucy, are you using Sam's welcome party as an excuse to have a snack feast for yourself?"
"No, it's mainly to welcome Sam!"
Sam coolly said, "If Lucy wants a party that much, then let's have one. I don't really care."
Penelope said, "Yeah, I can see you don't care. You don't like these childish things, right?"
"Yeah." Sam pretended to be mature, "You get me."
Lucy was already counting on her fingers, planning who to invite.
"My desk mate, classmates, teachers, oh right, Mommy, I also want to invite Godfather and Godmother!"
"What's wrong, Mommy?" Lucy's big eyes blinked at her, "Can't Godfather and Godmother come?"
Sam asked, "Godfather and Godmother? Lucy, when did you get them, and why didn't you tell me?"
"You'll meet them soon! Godmother is super nice!"
"You mean Aunt Monica and Uncle Timothy?"
Lucy nodded vigorously, "Yes!"
Sam said, "If it's them, then I can accept it."
Timothy had once helped him escape from a hotel.
Monica was beautiful and kind to him. Perfect!
Penelope looked at Kelvin, "Your two kids want to see Timothy and Monica."
She wanted to see what he would do now.
He had already sent them off to Crystal City.
Now, wanting them to come back was no easy task!
And she guessed Timothy didn't want to come back!
Once back in LA, Monica wouldn't go to Crystal City with him again! And the work there had just started!
Sam and Lucy both looked at Kelvin.
"Can't Godfather and Godmother come?" Lucy asked, "Dad, where are they?"
Kelvin answered without changing his expression, "They're on a business trip, far away, and can't come back for now."
Lucy was a bit disappointed.
"It's okay, there will be other chances, Lucy."
