Chapter 836 Not Only Do I Want to Give You the Endorsement, But I Also Want to Help You Terminate the Contract

Kelvin and Penelope were both a bit taken aback.

Even celebrities were interested in their relationship drama?

"But I don't have any endorsements. I'm more focused on acting. I see myself as an actor, not a star."

Thessaly spoke smoothly, her voice clear and confident: "If I could become the spokesperson for Adoring Cupid, I'd be thrilled. I hope to grow and progress with Adoring Cupid. It would be an honor."

Penelope looked at her. "Why didn't you put yourself forward before?"

"Maybe my agent thought I wasn't a good fit for the brand. Plus, a lot of people want this endorsement. I didn't think I'd have a shot, so I didn't push for it."

Thessaly raised an eyebrow. "But look, the opportunity came anyway."

Last night, when her agent called and told her to prepare for a meeting with Davis Group about the endorsement, Thessaly was stunned.

Wasn't this endorsement supposed to go to Jessamine?

Everyone in the company knew, and the official announcement was already drafted.

As soon as Jessamine signed the contract with Davis Group, it would be all over the internet to create buzz.

But it fell through?

And now they wanted her to try?

Thessaly still didn't know what had happened.

Since the opportunity was here and she liked the Adoring Cupid brand, she decided to give it a shot.

What if it worked out?

"I hope you don't mind me asking," Penelope said, "but are you not very valued at your agency?"

She thought Thessaly's talent, acting skills, and presence should easily outshine Jessamine's.

Why would the agency push for Jessamine instead of Thessaly?

Thessaly took a sip of water. "I don't mind. It's not a secret. The entertainment industry is all about fame and fortune. A lot of things are out of my control because I don't have connections. Plus, my personality isn't suited for playing the game, flattering people, or putting on a friendly face. Naturally, I'm not very popular."

"Also, Jessamine has a more approachable, youthful look. She has that 'first love' face, pure and innocent, which makes her very marketable."

Thessaly, on the other hand, had a more sophisticated aura.

She was the kind of cool beauty that people admired from a distance.

"But..." Thessaly's tone shifted, "The company and my agent have been good to me. Otherwise, I wouldn't have gotten so many roles or won the Best Actress award. I do have some recognition in the industry."

She still spoke positively about the company, remembering their support.

Only with the company's backing and resources, she would have a chance to stand out.

But the best opportunities rarely came her way.

It was thanks to her acting skills that she landed a lead role in a major film, even though she wasn't the first choice. She aced the audition and got the part.

Another film had a director who specifically wanted her.

These two films helped her win the Best Actress award.

Penelope asked, "Have you ever thought about leaving the company and going solo?"

"Going solo? I don't have the connections or resources. How would I do that?"

After a few seconds of silence, Thessaly smiled slightly. "Penelope, I probably shouldn't be saying this. If my agent were here, she'd scold me. Let's get back to the endorsement."

She didn't know why she was sharing so much with someone she had just met.

Maybe it was because Penelope gave her a reliable feeling.

Just then, Thessaly's phone rang.

"My agent is calling." She waved her phone. "Excuse me, Mr. Davis, Penelope, I need to take this."

"Go ahead."

As soon as Thessaly left, Penelope turned to Kelvin. "Do you know what I'm thinking?"

"I do."

"Really?"

"You want to sign Thessaly," Kelvin said, "but you want to sign her personally, not through her agency."

"Exactly!" Penelope nodded enthusiastically. "You know me so well, honey!"

Kelvin raised an eyebrow.

If she was calling him "honey" so sweetly, she definitely wanted something.

Penelope clung to his arm. "Honey, I know you can do it. You're the best. There's nothing in LA you can't handle!"

Kelvin leaned back. "Penelope, you want to help Thessaly get out of her contract, but have you asked if she wants that?"

"From what she said, she signed with the agency out of necessity. If she could get out, she'd be thrilled."

"The penalty for breaking the contract will be huge," Kelvin said. "You understand that, right?"

"That's why I'm asking you."

The penalty would be astronomical, a number Thessaly couldn't possibly afford.

No one else would pay that kind of money to poach her.

She'd have to fulfill her contract until it expired.

But Penelope thought Kelvin might have another way!

"Penelope, you're getting too involved. You just met Thessaly."

"Sometimes you just click with someone! Every meeting is a reunion after a long separation!"

Penelope really felt that way.

Looking at Thessaly reminded her of when she first met Monica years ago.

Kelvin pressed his lips together, saying nothing.

Soon, Thessaly returned. "Sorry to keep you waiting. My agent is on her way. She told me I must get this endorsement. I can't guarantee that, but I'll do my best."

Penelope said directly, "The Adoring Cupid endorsement is yours. I've decided. No one is more suitable for this brand than you."

Thessaly was taken aback. "It's decided?"

"Yes."

"Wow." Thessaly smiled. "That was quick and straightforward."

She hadn't expected it to be so easy. She'd heard Jessamine had a terrible time yesterday and threw a huge fit at the agency, which took hours to calm her down.

But Thessaly came in, said a few words, and got the endorsement.

"I really like you and admire you. I feel like we're old friends who haven't seen each other in a long time," Penelope said. "Before I met you, I already thought you were perfect for this. After meeting you, I knew you were the only choice."

"Thank you."

Penelope looked at her. "Thessaly, not only do I want to give you the endorsement, but I also want to help you. About going solo, my husband can help you!"

Penelope pushed Kelvin forward.

She didn't have the ability, but her husband did!

If Kelvin agreed, it would be done.

Thessaly's expression was no longer just surprise.

She was shocking.

Was Penelope really this kind?

Not only giving her the endorsement, but also helping her leave her agency?

What was in it for her?
