Chapter 1007 Do You Think Kelvin Can Save You?
"How am I supposed to know if you're really on my side or just feeding me lies?" Brandon walked over and gently took her wrist.
"Look at you, so thin," he said softly. "Why aren't you eating? What if you get sick? I'd be heartbroken."
Next to them was a bowl of oatmeal delivered that morning, still retaining the faintest vestiges of warmth.
Brandon picked it up and scooped a spoonful, bringing it to her lips. "Come on, have a little."
Thessaly didn't open her mouth, just stared at him.
She wouldn't be swayed by Brandon's actions. She had been fasting for three days, and he hadn't shown up until now. There had to be a reason.
She knew Brandon well enough; he never did anything without a purpose.
"Eat," Brandon coaxed patiently. "Fill up first, then we can talk."
"I've promised you everything—my heart and soul are yours. Why... why don't you believe me?"
Brandon nodded. "I believe you, I believe you. Now, open your mouth."
The aroma of the oatmeal lingered in the air.
Thessaly swallowed hard.
She wanted to eat, but she had held out for three days. She couldn't give in now!
"What's wrong?" Brandon raised an eyebrow. "You need strength. Guests are coming soon. How will you face them like this?"
Thessaly froze. "Guests?"
"Yes, Kelvin and Penelope will be here soon."
At those words, Thessaly's eyes lit up.
Her dull, lifeless eyes suddenly sparkled with hope.
Brandon saw it all clearly.
With a sharp sound, Brandon threw the bowl to the ground!
Oatmeal splattered everywhere!
Thessaly trembled in fear. What was happening?
"One sentence reveals your true intentions!" Brandon's demeanor changed completely, his gentle facade replaced by a fierce glare. "Thessaly, as soon as you heard Kelvin was coming, you thought you had a savior, didn't you?"
"I..."
Thessaly wanted to argue, but she realized she hadn't managed her excitement well.
She hadn't eaten, her thoughts were slow, and just staying alive was a struggle.
Brandon sneered. "You think Kelvin can rescue you?"
"I'm... I'm in your hands, not in danger. What rescue?" Thessaly replied. "I just... just..."
"Stop making excuses!"
Thessaly looked at him. "If Kelvin comes and doesn't see me, and the crew doesn't see me either, how will you explain it? Are you planning to keep me locked up?"
Brandon laughed coldly. "I can come up with an excuse. But, Thessaly, more than keeping you locked up, I need your genuine loyalty."
"I've agreed to marry you. I'm on your side. Why don't you believe me?"
"Because you're still waiting for Kelvin to save you!"
Thessaly refused to admit it. "This is the Walker Mansion, your territory. Are you afraid of Kelvin? Besides, I know what you've done, but I have no evidence. I only have my word. What good would it do to tell Kelvin and Penelope?"
This reason seemed to reluctantly convince Brandon.
Yes, Thessaly had no evidence.
She had overheard his conversation with Paul, but she had no concrete proof!
At that moment, the sound of a car came from downstairs.
Then, the phone rang.
Brandon pushed Thessaly aside and grabbed the receiver. "Hello?"
"Mr. Walker, Mr. Davis and his family are here. When would you like to come down to greet them?"
"Right away."
"Okay, I'll prepare some refreshments."
Brandon slammed the receiver down, his expression dark and brooding.
Thessaly watched his back in silence.
She knew Brandon was weighing his options... whether to keep her locked up or take her to meet Kelvin.
He was calculating the pros and cons.
After a while, Brandon turned around, his gaze falling on her, scrutinizing her meaningfully.
"Come here."
Thessaly complied.
"Take off your clothes."
She didn't move, instead covering herself. "What are you trying to do?"
"Remove it yourself, or shall I assist you?"
"Tell me why you want me to take off my clothes first!"
"To search you," Brandon replied. "What if you're hiding something to give to Kelvin when you see him?"
Brandon had come this far, every step meticulously planned. He couldn't let it all be ruined by Thessaly!
Absolutely not!
Search her?
Thessaly actually felt relieved.
"Fine." She bit her lip. "To prove my innocence, to show I won't have any dealings with Kelvin, I'll do it."
"Start."
Brandon watched her, not blinking.
Despite the overwhelming shame, Thessaly slowly undressed, piece by piece.
At this moment... what dignity was left?
"Why the pitiful look?" Brandon asked. "I'm not going to do anything to you. Though you're beautiful and have a great figure, the thought of you being tainted doesn't interest me."
He had to humiliate her once more with his words!
Clothes, pants, jacket... one by one, they fell to the floor, revealing Thessaly's delicate skin and perfect figure.
Brandon bent down, picked up the clothes, and searched them thoroughly.
There was nothing hidden.
"Are you satisfied?" Thessaly asked. "Do you believe me now?"
Brandon snorted, handing her a new set of clothes.
"Dress nicely, hide that pale face of yours!"
Thessaly said nothing, quietly putting on the new clothes.
Soon, soon this would all be over.
She thought.
She had waited for the day Kelvin would come!
Downstairs, in the living room.
Sam and Lucy sat on the couch, restless, looking around, eager to jump up and find their angel Thessaly.
But... Penelope's stern look kept them in place!
"What are they doing?" Penelope muttered quietly. "It's been so long, and still no sign of them. It's the weekend, are they sleeping in?"
Thinking about it, she blushed, snuggling into Kelvin's embrace.
After all, she understood. She knew.
Brandon and Thessaly were in the honeymoon phase, and being affectionate and passionate was perfectly normal.
Look at Timothy and Monica, weren't they the same?
Now, Penelope didn't dare to chat with Monica at night. Either the replies were slow, or Timothy would send a voice message telling her not to disturb them.
