Chapter 897 Penelope, You Have a Mother
"Is this all because of the photos?" Penelope asked.
"Yeah," Liam replied.
Liam cleared his throat. "Mr. Cooper, and Mrs. Wright, did you both get the photos this morning too?"
"Yeah," the two nodded.
"It seems like someone's trying to mess with our family," Liam said. "They want to use these photos to drive a wedge between us and make us fight. Luckily, they didn't succeed!"
Nicole chimed in, "I thought I'd ask Penelope first, get the facts straight, and then discuss it openly. I didn't expect that she had already seen the photos, and Kelvin had explained everything to her."
"Same here," Connor nodded. "We need to get the facts first. If we start arguing right away, it won't solve anything and will just make things worse."
"Exactly," Liam laughed. "We're all thinking about Kelvin and Penelope's happiness. If they're happy, we can be at ease. This whole thing is just a farce, and now it's all clear!"
Liam paused and added, "I almost hit Kelvin with my cane when I called him over earlier. Luckily, he explained everything in time. And I warned him that if he ever does anything to hurt Penelope, I'll be the first to deal with him!"
Nicole asked, "Who sent these photos to our homes last night? If any one of us had seen the photos and rushed to The King Manor in anger, their plan would have worked."
Fortunately, none of them did that, and the person didn't succeed!
"Mom, I'll find out who did this," Kelvin said. "Leave it to me. I'll let you know when I have results."
"Who would be so against your happiness?"
Nicole couldn't understand.
In LA, no one would go against the Davis family.
Brent and Debra had long left and wouldn't appear again, let alone have the ability to take these photos.
Who could it be?
"I don't know, Mom. Maybe it's someone with a strong jealousy or someone who has a beef with our family," Penelope said. "Don't worry about it. Just go about your business and don't stress over this small matter."
"How can I not care about you?"
Connor agreed, "Mrs. Wright is right. Penelope, you should have told us about this. Instead, you both kept quiet! We were shocked when we got the photos and rushed over."
"I thought it was a small, private matter, not worth mentioning..."
But knowing Penelope's character, if Kelvin had something with Thessaly, she wouldn't complain to Liam or cry to the Cooper family.
She would simply and decisively get a divorce!
"This is a small matter?" Nicole asked. "When you first saw the photos, weren't you shocked? Confused? Hurt?"
"I was a bit hurt."
"Then why didn't you come to me? Penelope, you have a mother."
When Penelope first saw the photos, she didn't shed a single tear.
But now, hearing Nicole's words, Penelope's nose suddenly felt sore.
She had a mother now.
She also had a father!
Even though she was a mother herself now, in front of her parents, Penelope could still be a child, could still be spoiled, and freely express her emotions!
Having a mother was wonderful!
"Mom," Penelope's voice was choked, "I knew I could handle it, I didn't want to worry you. And Kelvin didn't do anything wrong, so I didn't tell you."
"You didn't want us to worry, so you didn't say anything. But in the end, we found out and worried even more, almost causing a scene."
Penelope sniffled, "Next time..."
"There won't be a next time," Kelvin interrupted. "Mom, even though Thessaly and I are innocent, just normal interactions without any romantic involvement, the responsibility still lies with me. I won't let this happen again."
He turned to Connor, "Dad, I'm sorry for not handling this well and making you come all the way here."
Seeing Kelvin's attitude, Connor and Nicole felt satisfied.
"Since it's a misunderstanding, let's not dwell on it. We don't want those behind this to laugh at us," Connor waved his hand. "Where are the kids? Still not up?"
Just then, Sam's clear voice rang out, "I'm already up, Grandpa!"
He quickly ran downstairs.
"What's the occasion today?" Sam asked. "Everyone's here. Is it someone's birthday?"
He looked around, "Where's the cake?"
"It's not anyone's birthday," Penelope replied. "Your grandparents and great-grandfather just wanted to see you and Lucy, so they came over."
Sam, being very considerate, said, "I can go see you. You don't need to come to The King Manor to find me. It's such a hassle. "I'll visit you on the weekend."
Sam felt pleased with his arrangement.
Penelope asked, "Aren't you going to see the spaceship?"
Sam's face suddenly changed, "Oh!"
He had completely forgotten about that!
"I have to go! Definitely!" Sam quickly said. "So, I won't visit Grandpa this week. I'll go next week. Anyway, they've already seen me at The King Manor!"
"What spaceship?" Liam asked curiously. "What makes you so excited that you'd even put me aside?"
Sam ran over to Liam and eagerly explained his dream and passion for space exploration.
Liam listened attentively, not dismissing his enthusiasm.
Finally, Sam added, "Kelvin can take me to the base! This weekend, we've already planned it!"
He looked at Kelvin with a big smile, "Right?"
Kelvin raised an eyebrow but didn't answer.
He always kept his promises. If he said something, he would do it.
Sam, afraid he might back out, asked him almost daily.
So Kelvin was a bit tired of responding.
But Sam was anxious, "Kelvin, you won't back out, right? You can't do this to me. Grandpa, Kelvin isn't keeping his word."
