Chapter 1015 This Slap, I Want You to Take It Back Yourself
Brandon nodded, and the bodyguards stepped back, letting Thessaly go.
Thessaly stood still, staring at Brandon.
She had played countless roles, lived through endless characters, and felt the different lives written in scripts. Almost every director and actor she worked with praised her acting skills, especially her eyes, which seemed to speak volumes.
No matter how complex the emotion, she could convey it with just a few glances, making the audience feel it.
But that was acting.
Once the camera was off and the director called cut, she would step out of the role and return to her own life.
But now, looking at Brandon, Thessaly didn't know how to express her emotions... a mix of love and hate, tinged with disappointment and disgust.
In her heart, Brandon was such a contradictory person.
'I've always wanted to ask you something," Thessaly said, looking at him. 'The first time we met, outside the Davis Group, that skateboarder lost control and came at me. You saved me…"
'Yeah. What about it?"
'Was it a coincidence, or was it planned? Brandon, I want the truth."
Brandon met her gaze. 'It was a coincidence. Just a chance encounter between us, not something I would go to great lengths to orchestrate. It was fate. I saw you were in danger and helped you."
Thessaly smiled slightly. 'Okay, I understand. I believe it was a coincidence."
She looked away and walked towards Kelvin.
After a few steps, she heard Brandon say, 'But your car breaking down, that was my doing."
Thessaly's body shook violently.
She bit her lower lip. '...I see."
She had suspected Brandon had tampered with her car, giving him an excuse to drive her and strike up a conversation, leading to their acquaintance.
Thessaly didn't care about that.
What mattered to her was their first meeting.
Because the feelings Brandon stirred in her heart began from that first encounter.
It was then that Thessaly understood what 'love at first sight" meant!
This encounter that moved her heartstrings was arranged by fate, and she was content with that... at least their initial meeting wasn't a calculated move.
Thessaly reached Kelvin's side.
Kelvin noticed the bright red handprint on her face.
He pressed his lips together, saying nothing, but his sharp gaze swept towards Brandon.
Then, Kelvin turned and walked out, with Thessaly following.
The two walked out of the Walker family mansion, one after the other.
Brandon watched their backs, his eyes growing darker.
He never expected that the pawn he thought he had control over, Thessaly, would almost turn against him!
In the car.
Kelvin gripped the steering wheel in silence, focusing on driving.
Thessaly kept her head down.
After a while, Kelvin spoke. 'You took that slap today. One day, I'll make sure you get to return it."
'Do you want me to slap Brandon?"
'Do you want to?"
Thessaly thought seriously for a moment, then shook her head. 'No."
If a dog bit her, does she need to bite back?
Kelvin was a bit surprised. 'You don't hate him?"
'I do, very much," Thessaly said. 'No one has ever slapped me, except in acting. Brandon was the first."
She would remember the pain of that slap for the rest of her life.
The pain etched a scar on her heart.
'I'll take you home first," Kelvin said. 'I'll arrange for bodyguards to follow you around the clock to protect you from any tricks Brandon might pull."
'Thanks, Mr. Davis."
'No need to thank me. I should be thanking you. Without you, we wouldn't have that solid evidence. Penelope and I owe you a great deal, though she won't know about this."
If Penelope knew the whole story, she would be heartbroken over the suffering Thessaly endured!
'Mr. Davis," Thessaly said, looking at the road ahead, 'are you really planning to keep the evidence to yourself, not make it public, not tell Penelope, and keep it hidden forever?"
'We have to, otherwise your photos with Paul…"
'I told you, I don't care," Thessaly said. 'I'm safe now, no longer under Brandon's threat. My life is secure, I'm not afraid of him anymore."
Just being able to walk out of the Walker Mansion alive, Thessaly was already very grateful.
Reputation and innocence.
Should they be lost, then so be it... the truth is more important.
Besides, she was the victim; she was forced. She didn't willingly have a relationship with Paul.
Even if Brandon spread the photos all over the internet, she could hold a press conference to clarify, to explain, to sue Brandon, and clear her name, proving she was innocent from start to finish!
But those photos... would always exist, seen by many repeatedly, which for a girl, is devastating and would affect her entire life!
'I care, and Penelope cares even more," Kelvin said. 'Thessaly, don't act impulsively. Think about whether there's a better solution. Confronting Brandon head-on is the last resort."
Thessaly murmured, 'What better solution could there be?"
Kelvin thought for a moment and offered a plan.
'First, cut all ties with Brandon, then with Paul. Stop filming the movie, announce your withdrawal."
'Okay."
'Wait for my further instructions."
Thessaly nodded and remained silent for the rest of the drive.
Kelvin parked the car outside her apartment building.
Before getting out, Thessaly said, 'Mr. Davis, if there's no better solution, then let's confront Brandon head-on. Give the evidence to Penelope. If he posts my photos online... let them remain there. I'd rather be ridiculed and humiliated by everyone than keep the evidence hidden and feel so stifled."
'I'll handle it."
Thessaly felt like a zombie as she got out of the car, moving mechanically and numbly.
She heard the soft footsteps behind her, the bodyguard following to protect her.
Kelvin had saved her, and now she was free.
But... the person who saved her couldn't save her heart.
Thessaly thought, no one could truly save her!
Kelvin watched Thessaly enter her apartment complex before driving away.
He felt a deep sense of guilt towards Thessaly for not being able to protect her properly.
Back at The King Manor, Kelvin had just stepped into the living room when Sam rushed up to him. 'Kelvin, how did it go? What took you so long? I was so worried!"
'Your angel Thessaly is safely home."
Sam let out a long breath. 'That's good."
But then he remembered something. 'What was on that bug? I didn't get a chance to listen. Tell me!"
