Chapter 796 Father and Son Compete for Favor!
Lucy said, "But what I want most is for the Godfather and Godmother to attend and celebrate Sam's return to our family."
Kelvin paused for a few seconds and waved his hand, "Lucy, come here."
Lucy walked up to him.
"You just mentioned inviting so many people, but you didn't mention me," Kelvin said in a low voice. "It seems that in your heart, my position isn't very high or important."
Upon hearing this, Lucy quickly waved her hands, "Oh no, Dad, you're the host, not a guest. You don't need an invitation! You were always going to be here!"
Seeing that this tactic didn't work, Kelvin immediately switched to another. "But you only asked your mom's opinion just now, and didn't ask me."
Hearing this, Lucy immediately felt guilty, "I'm sorry, Dad. It was my oversight. I didn't think of you at the moment."
"It's okay, you often overlook me. I'm used to it."
"No," Lucy hurriedly explained, "Dad, you're busy with work every day, handling so many things. I thought I could just discuss this small matter with Mom and not bother you."
She earnestly comforted Kelvin.
Penelope was speechless.
Sam had just finished his performance in the morning, and now Kelvin was starting his in the afternoon.
What were the father and son up to?
A showdown of acting skills?
Kelvin sighed, "I know, Lucy, I won't blame you."
"Dad."
"Go to Sam, spend more time with him," Kelvin said. "I'll just stay here and continue working."
"Dad, I can stay with you too!" Lucy hurriedly grabbed his hand, "I'll stay with you for five minutes, then with Sam for five minutes, taking turns!"
"No need, Lucy."
"Sure!"
Seeing that it was almost enough, Kelvin finally said, "Just give me a hug, Lucy. I'm an adult, very strong. But Sam is a child, he needs you more."
Lucy immediately hugged him tightly, wrapping her arms around his neck.
Kelvin also took the opportunity to pick her up.
Not only that, he glanced intentionally or unintentionally towards Sam.
Only Sam could play innocent? Play two-faced? He could do it too!
Competing for affection? Let's see who won! Who had the better tactics?
Kelvin couldn't handle him? Impossible! He just didn't care to!
Today, he would let Sam see!
Sam snorted disdainfully.
"Alright, Lucy," Kelvin patted her head, "go play with Sam. He's lying in bed and can't move, very bored. Pay more attention to him."
Lucy, being very sensible, immediately said, "Okay, I'll also care for you!"
"I'm very strong."
"No, Dad, you need love too!" Saying this, Lucy stood on tiptoe and kissed Kelvin on the cheek!
Kelvin was satisfied.
Lucy was the best, so sweet and affectionate, always hugging and kissing him.
And Sam? All he did was annoy him!
Penelope walked over and sat down next to Kelvin, "Mr. Davis, how old are you this year?"
"Penelope, you don't know my age?"
"If I remember correctly, you're over thirty, right?"
Although Kelvin had a head of silver hair, his features were sharp and he didn't look old at all.
"In my thirties," Kelvin replied softly. "Unfortunately, I missed four years of my life with you."
"Stop with the cheesy lines," Penelope laughed. "I wanted to tell you, you're in your thirties, and you're here competing with Sam for attention? Isn't that childish? I can hardly stand it, it's so hard on Lucy."
One side was Sam, the other was Kelvin. Difficult to handle!
Even Penelope couldn't stand it!
"How am I making it hard for her?" Kelvin glanced at the hospital bed, "Aren't the siblings chatting happily now?"
"Yes, you got your hug and kiss, you're satisfied, already showing off. How can you still monopolize Lucy?"
Kelvin leaned in closer, "Lucy is Sam's, you are mine."
His move startled Penelope, who quickly backed away, "The kids are here, what are you doing?"
"Nothing."
Penelope understood the deeper meaning in his words.
She handed him her laptop, "Get back to work."
Kelvin leaned back on the sofa, looking at the three most important people in his life.
Scenes he never dared to imagine before were now happening right in front of him.
Sam and Lucy were talking, laughing non-stop.
Penelope was busy nearby, occasionally glancing at them, casual and gentle.
Kelvin thought, this was his whole world. He had to protect it.
Suburbs.
This area was full of cemeteries, and today wasn't a day for visiting or cleaning graves, so it was very quiet and deserted.
The sky was overcast, as if ready to pour down rain at any moment.
A Maybach stopped at the foot of the hill, and the driver got out, respectfully opening the door. "Mr. Davis, Mrs. Davis, we've arrived."
A straight long leg stepped out of the car, tailored trousers fitting perfectly, shoes polished to a shine, spotless.
Kelvin got out of the car and turned to extend his hand into the car, "Penelope."
Then, Penelope also got out of the car.
Standing side by side, they were a stunning sight, making people want to take a second look.
Their presence brought a different feeling to the gloomy cemetery.
Kelvin wore a black suit, and Penelope wore a black dress, looking elegant and increasingly gentle and quiet.
At the entrance to the hill, Brandon stood quietly.
He watched the couple's synchronized actions, their looks, their expressions, every scene silently showcasing their love.
Brandon didn't make a sound to interrupt. Because he felt like he was an extra.
How could he come between Kelvin and Penelope?
How did he ever think that if he tried a little harder, he could take Penelope away from Kelvin? Too naive.
What did Kelvin mean to Penelope? He was the one she still had two children with after jumping into the sea, always maintaining a bond.
He was the one she silently missed day and night for four years, buried deep in her heart, never spoken of, but never gone.
He was the only one she loved! How could Brandon compare to Kelvin?
