Chapter 16 The CEO's Relative?
Samuel thought, 'Did you finally figure it out?'
"You wouldn't happen to be related to our CEO, would you?" Layla exclaimed.
Samuel felt a pang of frustration, realizing he couldn't expect much from her intelligence.
"So, you have such a strong background." Layla scrutinized him. "Why do you have such a good job, yet work as a sex worker? If the company finds out, they'll fire you."
She wanted to add that being a sex worker had an age limit, while a legitimate job was a long-term plan, especially being a high-level executive at the Holland Group with unlimited prospects.
Samuel wanted to tease her, his deep voice mocking, "So, you care about me that much."
"I can't wait for you to get fired." That way, she wouldn't have to see him at the company anymore.
"You'd definitely miss me," Samuel said with a smile.
He couldn't help teasing her. Being with her made him feel relaxed.
Layla retorted, "Don't flatter yourself."
Looking at his proud, handsome face, his nearly perfect physique, and his wealth, she realized he had every reason to be confident.
Except for his profession and his cunning, difficult personality, he was a man of perfect charm.
He said, "I'll take you back."
"Are we going back to the company? Okay." Layla stood up. Hitch a ride was always good.
Samuel remarked, "We'll go back to school."
"It's work hours now. I'm an intern, not a high-level executive who can wander around."
'Wander around?' Samuel wanted to say that, known as a workaholic, he was only interested in her besides work.
"My boss is very strict. If I don't complete my tasks, she'll fire me." Layla got a bit anxious.
"Who's your boss?" Samuel asked.
"Famous designer, Molly," Layla said proudly.
"Just an ordinary designer?" Samuel only remembered this ordinary designer because Molly had once desperately tried to curry favor with him at the company's annual party.
Although he never forgot a name, he couldn't remember what she looked like.
Only the lightly made-up Layla in front of him, with her faint fragrance, left a deep impression on him.
Layla was indignant. She retorted, "At the Holland Group, there are no ordinary designers. Even the most average would be a chief designer at other major companies."
Samuel asked, "Do you want to be a designer?"
Layla replied, "That's my lifelong dream."
Talking about her dream made Layla's eyes sparkle.
A girl working hard for her dream was very attractive.
"Would you laugh at me?" She asked.
Samuel replied, "No. On the contrary, only those who dare to dream have a future. If you don't even dare to dream, what can you achieve?"
Layla glanced at him sideways and said, "I didn't expect you to say something so philosophical."
"There are many things you wouldn't expect. Don't be shocked when the time comes," Samuel said mysteriously.
Her shocked expression in the future would be quite a sight.
Layla felt a bit uneasy, but quickly comforted herself and did not dwell on it.
"Will you take me back to the company?" Layla asked tentatively.
Samuel smiled faintly and agreed, "Sure."
