Chapter 555: My Life for You

Susan shook her head, looking kinda lost. "I dunno, May didn't spill the beans, and I didn't wanna pry. But it must've been pretty gnarly, especially with his folks around. No coming back from that, I guess."

"Just let it be. It's their call to split. Love stuff is tricky, and we shouldn't stick our noses in it. Don't bug Tyler either. Could be both their faults, not just his." Susan added.

"Alright," Caleb nodded.

He gave her a look full of hurt, "Man, I wish I was there with you right now. Seeing you all bummed out, I just wanna wrap you up in a big hug."

It sucked knowing he couldn't be there to comfort Susan when she needed him. He felt like a crappy boyfriend, drowning in guilt.

"I miss you too," Susan's voice wavered a bit.

Caleb caught that and teased, "Wow, it's not every day I hear you, Miss Tough Cookie, say you miss me. Say it again, lemme record it. I wanna play it on repeat."

Susan chuckled, "You're the tough one, making me sound like a cold fish."

"Not cold, just not as straight-up as me. You're always playing hard to get. What's the deal? When I miss you, I say it. I want you to do the same. If you need me, I'll drop everything and be there."

"I know you will." Even if he wasn't right there, she felt safe, and that meant the world to her.

"I'm hitting the office tomorrow. Wanna meet up there?"

"Won't that look sketchy?"

"Did you forget? I'm still running the resort project. Totally legit for me to see you, Ms. Wilson."
Susan couldn't help but laugh, "Alright, Mr. Eilish." She really wanted to see him too, and it would be awesome if they could meet.

"See you tomorrow."

"Mm."

Caleb suddenly sighed.

"What's up?"

"Just thinking about seeing you tomorrow has me too hyped to get through tonight. I'm worried I won't catch any sleep."

"Is it really that dramatic?"

"Totally. Don't you know I miss you like crazy every night?"

"Better not miss me too much, get some shut-eye, and we'll meet in dreamland."

"Mm, goodnight."

"Goodnight."

After hanging up the video call, Susan felt a bit better. But May's issue was still hanging over her, and she hadn't spilled the beans to Caleb about her pregnancy.

One thing at a time. There’s always a way.

She could only hope for a brighter future.

That night, Susan didn't sleep well either, and she felt pretty rough in the morning.

She headed downstairs for breakfast.

"Mommy, why are you so late today? I already finished my breakfast," Oliver asked in his sweet, little voice.

Nothing heals like a kid's adorable smile. Susan's mood lifted, and she kissed Oliver's cute little nose, smiling, "Yeah, Mommy slept in today."

"Mommy is Sleeping Beauty."

"Mm."

"Mommy, I'll get your breakfast." Oliver climbed onto a chair.

Susan glanced upstairs, "May didn't come down for breakfast?"

"Mm. I guess she's still feeling down. I didn't call her, letting her chill," Carol replied.

"That's probably for the best."

If she were going through a breakup, she wouldn't want to talk to anyone either, preferring to be alone and quietly lick her wounds. Best to give her some space for now.
Before heading to the top floor, Susan touched up her makeup in the restroom.

She hadn't slept well last night, and those dark circles were kinda heavy. She didn't want Caleb to notice.

After not seeing him for a few days, she wanted to look a bit prettier for the guy she loved.

Once she was sure the dark circles were hidden, Susan went up to the top floor.

"Ms. Wilson, Mr. Eilish is waiting for you. Please follow me," the secretary said with a big smile, being super polite, "Mr. Eilish, Ms. Wilson is here."

"Come in." Caleb's voice came through.

"Mm. Ms. Wilson, please."

As soon as Susan stepped in, a hand suddenly grabbed her and pressed her against the wall, catching her off guard.

Before she could react, Caleb's lips were on hers, kissing her so intensely she could hardly breathe.

"Caleb..." Susan tried to protest, wanting to remind him they were at the office. But soon she was swept away by his passionate kiss, completely losing herself and kissing him back with abandon.

Sometimes, you just gotta go wild, and when you miss someone, don't hold back, just let it all out.

They kissed all the way to the couch.

Caleb finally pulled back, panting, his eyes blazing as he stared at her, breathing heavily, "God, I missed you so much."

"Me too."

"No, I missed you like crazy, Susan." Caleb couldn't help but bite her lip, speaking with raw emotion, "Did you poison me? Why am I so hooked on you? Maybe one day you'll really drive me insane."

Hearing his passionate confession, Susan could feel Caleb's fiery love for her, and it ignited her body, burning like a blazing fire, making her whole body hot, even her fingertips.
She felt a bit dizzy. There's nothing hotter in this world than love, than a heart burning with love for someone.

"Aren't we seeing each other now?" she rasped, her lips swollen from the kiss.

"It's not enough, I wanna see you every day. Seeing you once in a while is torture," Caleb said through gritted teeth, every word dripping with deep love for her.

"There's no other way, just think of it as a test. Love that’s been tested is stronger."

Caleb angrily bit her finger, "Why are you so rational? I hate your rationality, damn it! Am I the only one going nuts over this?"

Susan thought, 'Of course not. I am crazy too, just holding it in.'

Susan cupped his face, looking at him with deep affection, and murmured softly, "Caleb, I miss you too, I miss you so much..."

Caleb felt like his whole being was melting from her tenderness, "Susan, I'll give you my life!"

He picked her up and strode towards the bedroom.

"Caleb, Caleb..."

"I want you."

"No, this is the office."

"I don't care. If I don't have you now, I'll die." Caleb gritted his teeth and pressed her onto the bed.

He kissed her passionately, his hands tugging at her clothes with restrained eagerness, while his actions were gentle.

Susan was kissed into a daze, and her resistance weakened. Her body was calling out to him too, expressing her longing in the most real and direct way.

Susan rasped, "What if... what if I get pregnant..."

"Even better, we'll have the baby."

He wanted their child?

Susan forced herself to stay clear-headed, pushing against his chest, rasping, "Are you serious?"
