Chapter 790 Shrew
"Dad..." Saffron clung to Aaron's leg, pleading desperately and crying pitifully.
However, Aaron remained cold and indifferent, showing no sympathy. He ordered the servants to lock her up.
"Brice, it's my fault for not raising my daughter properly. It's so embarrassing," Aaron said, feeling ashamed.
"Mr. Cooper, it's not your fault."
"I always thought she was the victim in her situation with Douglas. I believed she was young and naive, easily deceived by Douglas. But now, it's clear she was the one who initiated it. She usually behaves so well, but this time she really shocked me."
Aaron continued, "Juniper, I was foolish back then, believing her and her mother's lies and treating you so poorly. I apologize."
Juniper shook her head indifferently. "What's past is past. Let's not bring it up again. It won't happen in the future anyway."
"Alright, I need to think about how to deal with her. I'm getting a headache. I'll head back to my room. You should rest early too."
"Okay."
The door closed.
"How did you know Saffron would drug the juice?" Brice asked curiously.
"Didn't I just say? Because I know her personality too well," Juniper rolled her eyes. "She was definitely going to take action. When she was so eager to get you to drink the juice, I knew right away."
"My darling is so clever," Brice praised.
"It didn't take much cleverness to figure it out. It was thanks to your good cooperation."
"Of course. If I weren't in real estate, I would definitely be an actor."
Juniper nodded. "Yes, it would be a waste if you didn't become an actor with that face."
"But if I were an actor, I wouldn't have met you."
"But you could meet more beautiful actresses."
"No matter how beautiful the actresses are, they all become supporting roles in front of you. Besides, they're not as smart and witty as you."
Juniper, held in his arms, teased with a smile, "Do you know what you look like right now?"
"What?"
"A blind fan of his girlfriend," Juniper replied.
Brice shook his finger. "No, no, not just like. I am totally a fan of my girlfriend."
"Silly!" Juniper laughed. She had originally planned to expose Saffron's true nature before returning to Libertonia. Saffron's actions just made it easier.
The next day, when Saffron was locked up, Elara couldn't get food to her and went to Aaron, wailing.
"Are you trying to starve Saffron? She's your own daughter. How can you be so heartless!"
"It's just one day. She won't starve."
"You say it so easily. Saffron just got out of the hospital. She can't take this. If anything happens to her, I'll fight you to the death," Elara cried and cursed.
"The punishment I'm giving her is already light. Look at what she's done. I thought she was well-behaved, but it turns out she was just pretending. I used to think Juniper accidentally pushed her, but now I see she did it on purpose. She's malicious."
"You're talking nonsense! It was Juniper who pushed her. This time, too, Juniper set Saffron up. Saffron is innocent."
"Innocent? You heard and saw for yourself how she embarrassed herself in front of Brice, trying to steal Juniper's boyfriend again and again. She's too wicked. This is the daughter you raised!"
"Maybe Juniper drugged Saffron, and that's why she..."
"You're still defending her at this point. No wonder she turned out this way. It's all because of your indulgence. If I don't discipline her now, who knows what outrageous things she'll do in the future. Not sending her abroad is already merciful."
Elara jumped in desperation. "If you dare send her abroad, I'll die right in front of you."
"Don't use death to threaten me!"
"You just want an excuse to send us both abroad so you can give all the family assets to Juniper. You're so biased."
"She's the one who did wrong, and you blame me? You can't tell right from wrong. Ridiculous!"
"It's true. You've always favored her. You never considered us when dividing the family assets. You treat us like we're outsiders! Now you want to starve my daughter. How miserable my life is, marrying someone as heartless as you..." Elara wailed.
Aaron was irritated by her crying. "Stop crying!"
Elara cried even louder. "You heartless man... How could I marry you?"
Aaron lost his temper. "If you regret it, then let's divorce!"
Elara's tears suddenly stopped. She looked at him in shock. "You want a divorce now? You want to abandon me?"
"Aaron, your true colors are finally showing, aren't they? Now that it's time to divide the assets, you just want an excuse to kick us out! You're so cruel!"
"You were the one who said you regretted it."
"And you blame me? Clearly, you're just looking for an excuse," Elara's eyes were filled with hatred and anger. "You just want an excuse to get rid of us."
"Stop talking nonsense. If you behave from now on, I'll ensure your future. But if you keep causing trouble, don't blame me for being ruthless!" Aaron warned.
Elara was so angry she wanted to fight him, but she didn't dare. She feared that if she really angered Aaron, they would be kicked out of the Cooper family.
She wasn't foolish enough to go to court for the family assets. They were no match for the Cooper family and would end up with nothing.
But she was unwilling to give up and went to find trouble with Juniper, kicking open her door.
"Let Saffron out immediately."
Juniper frowned. "Don't you know how to knock?"
"Let her out now!"
"Dad can punish her however he wants. It's not my concern. Besides, she brought this on herself. Locking her up for a few days is light. She won't die."
Elara trembled with anger. "Won't die? You just wish she would! You're so vicious!"
Juniper sneered. "You're flattering me. When it comes to viciousness, I'm not even a tenth as bad as you two."
"Saffron was clearly set up by you."
"Set up? Did I beg her to seduce my boyfriend? Did I beg her to be shameless? Are you joking? I've never seen anyone like you who falsely accuses others."
"Are you letting her out or not?" Elara demanded.
Juniper disdainfully replied, "No."
"I'll kill you, you bitch." Elara lunged at her, but Brice wouldn't allow anyone to harm his darling. He immediately stepped in front of Juniper and grabbed Elara's hand.
"Mrs. Cooper, please have some self-respect."
"Self-respect? It's you who have no self-respect. You're all the same, colluding to harm my poor Saffron."
Elara added, "You're not even Juniper's boyfriend. You're someone she paid to act and deceive for the family assets, right? You must have seduced our Saffron in private. How much did she pay you? I'll pay double if you expose her true colors."
Brice laughed at the absurdity. "Do you have delusions? I suggest you see a psychologist."
"I'm telling the truth! That's exactly the kind of people you are! Let Saffron out, Juniper, do you hear me?"
"Get out of my way! Don't block me!" Elara and Brice struggled.
But how could a woman's strength compare to a man's?
She couldn't push him away!
"Damn you! Bastard! Move!"
Juniper frowned and warned, "You shrew, stop causing trouble! If you hit my boyfriend again, I won't be polite!"
