Chapter 872 The Boyfriend's Identity
The candlelight illuminated Anthony's sincere eyes and also lit up Juniper's tear-streaked face, her tears falling uncontrollably.
She had imagined many proposal scenarios, but never guessed it would be in a hospital, at such a moment.
More than anything, she was moved, overwhelmed by emotion, her tears flowing like a flood, crying and laughing like a happy child.
Meeting him in this life was the luckiest thing that ever happened to her.
Nodding vigorously through her tears, she said, "I will, I do!"
"Thank you, I will treat you well. Juniper, I will make sure this is a decision you never regret."
Anthony, also excited by the successful proposal, was trembling with emotion.
"Silly, why are you crying over something so happy?" Anthony helped wipe her tears, "Dummy."
He almost felt like crying himself, quickly pulling her into his arms, stroking her head, kissing her, and comforting her in every way, "My little dummy."
"You're the dummy," Juniper said, crying and laughing.
"You are."
"You..." Juniper had just started to speak when Anthony covered her lips with his, kissing her deeply. He nibbled gently, moving tenderly.
She wrapped her arms around his neck, responding passionately to his kiss, even more fervently than he did.
She wanted to tell him with this kiss how much she loved him, deeply and completely, to the core.
After a long kiss, both were breathless.
Anthony, with his nose touching hers, smiled, "Silly, why are you so passionate today, like you want to devour me?"
Juniper sniffled and smiled through her tears, "Clearly, it's you who wants to devour me."
"Yes, I want to devour you, every inch of you, completely."
Even with just the candlelight, Juniper felt almost burned by the heat in Anthony's eyes, her body going weak.
"Let's blow out the candles before they go out."
"Okay." Juniper clasped her hands together, fingers interlaced, closed her eyes, and made a wish.
She opened her eyes and blew out the candles.
"Love you," Anthony pecked her lips before turning on the lights.
A heart-shaped pink cake, and Juniper noticed her ring was also heart-shaped, with a faint pink hue, which she adored.
"Do you like it?"
"I love it," Juniper nodded eagerly, "I love pink the most. This is my first pink ring, and it's a wedding ring, which makes it even more special."
She smiled sweetly, the joy of the proposal washing away much of the previous trauma, filling her heart with emotion.
If there is a lot of happiness, then some of the sadness will be pushed out.
"As long as you like it."
"But I still like you more," Juniper said with a smile.
"Sweet talker."
"Try it, see if your mouth is sweeter or the cake," Anthony fed her a small spoonful of cake.
"Wow, strawberry flavor, so delicious."
This was the first time Juniper had tasted anything in a while; before, everything had been tasteless to her.
"If you like it, eat more. Eating sweets helps release dopamine, which improves your mood."
"But if I gain weight, I won't be happy."
"You've lost weight again. Eating some cake won't make you gain much. I actually hope you gain ten pounds right now." Every time he held her bony frame, his heart ached.
"Wow, that's harsh. Gaining ten pounds would make me a ball."
"Round faces are cute," Anthony pinched her face, which had little flesh.
"No way, girls look better when they're slim."
"I know you love beauty, but promise me, eat a bit more during this time, don't think about dieting, gain a little weight, okay?"
Juniper pouted, "Since you're so sincere in asking, I'll reluctantly gain five pounds."
"Ten pounds."
"No way, that's too much, I'll be out of shape. Seven pounds at most, no more."
"Okay, seven pounds. For every pound you gain, I'll give you a gift."
"Deal."
He was spoiling her too much!
Both of them laughed childishly.
"If I finish this cake today, I'll definitely gain a pound."
"Okay, I'll prepare the gift, you just focus on gaining weight." Anthony kissed her right cheek indulgently.
"You're so good."
With such a loving fiancé, she couldn't let herself be controlled by negative emotions anymore. She needed to recover and be full of positive energy.
The next morning, Kieran came to visit with flowers, surprised to see Anthony leaving the room. "Did I just see Mr. Eilish? The CEO of the Eilish Group, Anthony?"
"Yes," Juniper nodded.
"Your boyfriend isn't... Anthony, is he?"
"That's right."
"Oh my God!" Kieran was astonished, "No wonder you kept it so secret, your boyfriend is such a big shot!"
Juniper proudly raised her chin, "What? Am I not good enough for him?"
"No, no, a perfect match!" Kieran gave a thumbs up, "You used to say he was excellent, that no one was better, and I thought you were exaggerating a bit. But now... oh my God!"
Kieran couldn't find any words to express his amazement other than "oh my God."
"Wait, is that a ring on your finger?" Kieran grabbed her hand, "Did he propose? Did you say yes?"
Now it was Juniper's turn to say "oh my God," "You're even more gossipy than I thought! Are you still the Mr. Morgan I know?"
"Your boyfriend is Anthony! I'm so excited! I must cling to you, future Mrs. Eilish, for protection, promotion, and love!"
So flattering! Juniper couldn't help but laugh at his exaggerated behavior, but her vanity was greatly satisfied.
With such an outstanding boyfriend, of course, she was very, very, very proud.
"Don't forget me, Mrs. Eilish!"
"Enough, enough, I won't forget you. Don't worry!"
"The future Mrs. Eilish works so hard, are you leaving no room for others? You could totally stay home and burn money every day, yet you work so hard. I admire you."
"My primary identity is Juniper, then Mrs. Eilish. No matter how amazing my husband is, I am an independent person. I must realize my own value, right? True love is a strong partnership, where one plus one is greater than two, adding to each other's success."
"You're beautiful, capable, and everything you say is right. Listening to Ms. Cooper is better than reading ten years of books, I've learned a lot," Kieran said earnestly.
"Alright, stop it. You'll still be my mentor in the future, I need you to guide me."
"No, no, let's cheer each other on and work hard together," Kieran said with a playful smile.
"Look at you, so focused on gossiping, not even caring about my health. Heartless."
"You look great, glowing, just a bit thin. When are you getting out? I'll treat you to a big meal."
"Tomorrow, I think."
"What's the issue?"
Juniper's heart ached a bit, but she smiled nonchalantly, "Nothing, just acute gastroenteritis."
"Gastroenteritis? Then you can't eat meat."
"I'm fine now, I'm definitely eating that meat, don't think you can escape."
"Okay, as long as you're healthy, I'll treat you to ten meals, not just one."
She would be back to work next week, which was some comfort to Juniper.
Originally, she planned to quit and rest in three months, but now it seemed she could work for another two or three years to achieve her career goals.
As for children, she was still young, she could think about it in a couple of years. Everything would happen in its own time.
Aaron had mixed feelings when he heard about Anthony's proposal.
"Dad, you won't disapprove, will you?"
"You've already agreed, how can I refuse? Have you thought it through? Marriage is a big deal, you can't be impulsive."
Juniper nodded firmly, "I've thought it through completely. I love Anthony, and I believe he truly loves me. He will treat me well, and we will be happy. Dad, I hope you can bless us, it means a lot to me."
