Chapter 903 The Last Chance
Saffron, filled with anger, went to find Elara.
Elara was crying again, which made Saffron even angrier.
"Stop crying! What good does it do to cry every day? Can crying make things better? You're useless!"
Saffron lashed out at her mother.
"What kind of trouble did you get into that Dad wants to kick us out?"
"I, I didn't do anything." Faced with her repeated questioning, Elara was on the verge of breaking down.
"Stop lying!" Saffron shouted. "Tell me the truth, and I might be able to figure something out. If you don't, we're all doomed."
"Saffron, let's just leave. Ask your dad for more money, and we'll go abroad, okay? We can live well overseas if we get enough money."
"How did you become such a coward?" Saffron was furious. "I want more than just money. I want the entire Cooper Group. We're both Aaron's daughters. Why does Juniper get the inheritance while I'm being kicked out? It's not fair!"
Elara's eyes were filled with guilt, and Saffron immediately noticed.
"What are you feeling guilty about?"
"Am I wrong?"
"Am I not Dad's biological daughter?"
Saffron had always suspected, but she thought it was just her imagination. Seeing Elara's reaction, she was very suspicious.
"Answer me!" Saffron suddenly panicked.
"I'm sorry." Elara knelt on the ground.
Saffron quickly said, "Don't shout, keep your voice down."
She tried to control her panic. "How could I not be Aaron's biological daughter? If he's not my dad, then who is?"
"Speak up!"
"I'm sorry."
"What's the use of saying sorry now? Tell me clearly!"
"Your father is Hugo."
Saffron almost fell out of her wheelchair.
How could her father be Hugo? Wasn't Hugo the one who kidnapped her and broke her leg?
Saffron resisted the urge to scream, gripping the wheelchair tightly. "You, you better explain this clearly!"
Elara explained everything, then desperately apologized. "I'm sorry, it's all my fault."
Saffron's world was about to explode. She couldn't accept such a devastating truth. Her heart tightened and felt like it was going to burst.
"Don't talk to me right now."
"Saffron..."
Elara crawled over on her knees to grab her hand, but Saffron pushed her away and shouted, "I said don't touch me! You filthy woman!"
Elara was in extreme pain. Being called filthy by her own daughter, she had no way to refute it.
She was right; she was a filthy woman.
She had brought this upon herself, and now her daughter was suffering because of her actions.
Two days later, Saffron called Elara into the room.
Elara looked much older. These two days felt like years. She tried to talk to Saffron every day, trying to please her, but Saffron ignored her. Elara was on the verge of a breakdown.
"Saffron, are you finally willing to talk to me?"
"Don't touch me. I don't want to talk to you, but we're in this together now. We need to figure something out." Saffron looked at Elara with disdain and resentment.
"As long as you're willing to talk to me." Elara wiped her tears. "Now, you need to ask your dad for more severance pay. He still has some affection for you."
"Stop dreaming. He won't give us a single cent more. We have to figure it out ourselves."
"But, but what can we do now?"
"If he won't give it to me, I'll force him to!" Saffron's eyes turned cold.
"How will you force him?"
"Kidnap him! If he doesn't give it, we'll kill him."
Elara was terrified. "Kidnap? That's illegal. We can't do that. If we get caught, we'll go to jail."
"If we get kicked out now, how is that different from going to jail? Instead of starving to death, we might as well take a gamble."
"But, but he's still your dad..."
"Shut up, he's not my dad. They say blood is thicker than water, but what about him? He kicked me out without a second thought. Since he's so heartless, I don't need to show him any mercy. This is our last chance."
"Saffron..." Elara was very scared and didn't want her daughter to take this desperate path. There was no turning back.
"Are you going to help me or not?"
"I..."
"You owe me this. If you hadn't messed around, Aaron wouldn't have found out. You have to help me!" Saffron commanded.
Saffron had become like this because of her. Driven by guilt, Elara had no choice but to take a risk. "Okay, I'll help you with whatever you want to do."
Although they decided to kidnap, it wasn't something they could do immediately. Saffron had never done anything like this before and needed to plan carefully.
The days of their departure were approaching, and she was secretly plotting.
On the other hand, she continued to try to please Aaron as she had before.
Partly to see if there was any chance of reconciliation, and partly to avoid arousing Aaron's suspicion.
Two days before their departure, Saffron pretended to pack her luggage.
Aaron passed by the door, and she called out, "Dad."
Since she was about to leave, Aaron couldn't ignore her and walked in. "Have you packed your things?"
"Almost. We won't be gone for long, right? We'll be back anyway, so I didn't pack everything." Saffron tentatively asked, "Dad, you'll let me come back, right?"
Aaron had already made up his mind. No.
When it was time to cut ties, he had to be decisive.
After being deceived for so many years, he couldn't pretend nothing had happened.
"Once you get to Libertonia, start fresh and live well."
"Dad, it sounds like you're saying we'll never see each other again. I'm a bit worried. I know I've done a lot of bad things recently, but everyone makes mistakes. Family doesn't give up on each other, right?"
"Dad, to me, you'll always be the best father in the world, the person I love the most." Saffron held Aaron's arm. "People often realize the value of family when they're about to part. You've raised me, watched me grow up, and we've had so many happy memories. Thinking about it, I really can't bear to leave."
Saffron pretended to wipe away non-existent tears, acting sad.
But in reality, she hated Aaron for being so ruthless. How could she be sad? She couldn't even fake tears.
"Dad, I really love you and this family. I'll change my ways. Give me another chance, don't kick me out, okay?" Saffron pleaded pitifully.
This was her last chance, and also the last chance she was giving Aaron.
