Chapter 635: He Turns Out to Be Her Fiancé
Saffron's smirk, ready to enjoy the drama, froze on her face. Damn, this dude's hot and looks loaded, not like some gigolo.
Douglas, green with envy, yelled, "Gigolo, you got the nerve to show up. Uncle Aaron, he's the gigolo Juniper paid for. That suit? Juniper bought it. Don't be fooled by his looks; he's just a male escort."
"Shut up!" Aaron jumped up, trying to shut Douglas down.
"I'm telling the truth, Uncle Aaron, he really is..."
"Mr. Eilish, he's nuts, talking out of his ass. Don't mind him."
"Mr. Eilish? Uncle Aaron, you gotta be kidding. He's not some big shot..."
"It's you who's clueless. Mr. Anthony Eilish is the head honcho of the second-biggest family in City A!" Aaron dropped the bomb.
"He's Anthony? No way. Uncle Aaron, he just looks like him."
"You better zip it! I've met Mr. Eilish before. No way I'd mistake him. And he's Juniper's blind date."
Now Juniper was floored, "What did you say? He's my blind date?"
"Yep, the blind date I set up for you was Mr. Eilish. Didn't think you'd meet him on your own... Guess you two are meant to be," Aaron was grinning like a Cheshire cat.
Saffron, Douglas, and Elara looked like they'd seen a ghost.
They thought Juniper had brought home a gigolo and were ready to roast her, but it turned out to be Anthony!
Saffron pinched her leg in jealousy, 'Juniper, how can you be so damn lucky?'
She thought she was hot stuff for snagging Douglas, feeling all smug, but compared to Anthony, Douglas was just trash!
Saffron's face twisted with rage, almost fuming, 'Why does fate favor Juniper so much?'
Anthony gave Juniper a look that said it all. Was her shock real or just an act?
"Oh my God, how could this be such a coincidence? Even TV dramas aren't this wild," Juniper exclaimed, "You're actually my blind date!"
Even though she hated blind dates, she had to admit her dad had set her up with a catch.
"Ever since she was a kid, I've spoiled Juniper, so she's a bit of a handful, Mr. Eilish. Hope she wasn't too much trouble," Aaron said.
Anthony snapped back to reality, casually wrapping his arm around Juniper's waist, "No, she's been a total sweetheart."
Sweetheart.
He made her sound like a little kitten.
Juniper blushed, her heart racing. The warm hand on her waist made her whole body heat up.
"That's good," Aaron beamed. "Please, have a seat."
Saffron took a sharp breath and said, "Mr. Eilish, Juniper and you are really fated. To dodge the blind date, she went to a bar and randomly hooked up with a guy, and it turned out to be you. We were worried she might meet some creep at the bar."
"Saffron," Aaron shot her a warning look.
Douglas chimed in, "Yeah, Juniper is my ex. I dumped her, but I still worry about her messing around with other guys. She was pretty wild before."
"You—" Juniper frowned.
But Anthony didn't bat an eye and said, "Juniper told me she misjudged a jerk before, falling for him. It was her bad luck. From now on, when she's with me, I'll treat her right, be gentle and caring, and make up for the hurt she suffered. As for the jerk, he doesn't deserve her."
Douglas turned beet red, wanting to flip the table but not daring to. Offending the Eilish family could bankrupt the Phillips family in no time.
Saffron watched Douglas, not even daring to breathe, feeling frustrated, 'Damn! How did I end up with such a coward? Even the coward is someone I snatched away. Damn it!'
Anthony standing up for her made Juniper feel all warm and fuzzy inside. 'Anthony, he's really something else,' she thought.
Sensing the tension, Aaron quickly tried to lighten the mood, "Let's dig in."
Meanwhile, Aaron was cursing Douglas in his head, 'Shut up, you moron!'
"Don't you love seafood? Here, have some more fish." Anthony picked a piece of fish for Juniper, carefully removing the bones.
Juniper happily ate it, "Mm, this is awesome."
Anthony also peeled shrimp and crab for her.
Juniper felt the sweetness of being pampered. For a moment, she really felt like his girlfriend. She was so happy. She always knew Anthony was a warm person, but he had never taken care of her like this before. Being his girlfriend must be the happiest thing in the world.
She couldn't help but feel moved.
His handsome face looked especially charming to her.
Juniper didn't realize her eyes were full of affection.
Aaron, on the side, nodded in satisfaction. This was way better than a blind date. How could a blind date have such good vibes?
When Juniper was born, he had a fortune teller predict her future. The fortune teller said that she would bring luck to the family. Later, the Cooper Group's profits skyrocketed, multiplying several times in a few years. If they could connect with the Eilish Group, it wouldn't be impossible to multiply tenfold in a year.
Juniper would indeed bring him luck.
Aaron smiled and said, "Mr. Eilish, Juniper is my precious daughter, spoiled since childhood. I was always afraid she'd be wronged. Now that I see you care for her so much, I'm relieved. Juniper is a lucky person; whoever marries her will be happy. You two look great together. I'm looking forward to your wedding. By the way, I'm currently bidding for a piece of land from the Eilish Group. Could you..."
"Dad," Juniper frowned. Even if she was really with Anthony, she didn't want any interests mixed in. She hated being used as a tool for money.
"I'm just saying."
"I'll arrange it," Anthony said calmly.
Hearing this, Aaron immediately beamed, "Anthony, I'll rely on you then. Let's have a drink."
Aaron raised his glass, and Anthony clinked glasses with him.
Juniper felt a bit uncomfortable.
But Saffron felt even worse. She was so jealous that she wanted to scream and stab Juniper!
She cursed in her heart, 'Bitch, bitch!'
"It's about time. Let's go," After Aaron got five projects from Anthony, Juniper couldn't stand it anymore.
"It's still early. Why leave so soon?" Aaron wanted to get more. The Cooper family was also a big family, but no one would complain about having too much money. And every project Anthony promised was worth hundreds of millions of dollars. In just one dinner, they had already secured billions. If they really got married, it would be incredible.
Thinking of this, Aaron was excited.
"We have things to do. Anthony, let's go," Juniper also noticed Anthony didn't look very happy.
"Then we'll take our leave," Anthony nodded politely.
"Okay, okay. When are you free? Let's get together again. How about tomorrow night? My treat," Aaron said.
Although Juniper always had a knot in her heart about Aaron, seeing him so eager and greedy, almost directly asking Anthony for money, she couldn't stand it.
"We're not free." She refused on Anthony's behalf.
Aaron knew he was being a bit too eager, so he didn't push further, smiling, "Alright, next time then. After all, we'll be family, plenty of opportunities."
Anthony said nothing.
The two walked out of the private room together.
"Turns out you're my fiancé. This is too ridiculous, too amazing. It shows we really are fated." Juniper said excitedly.
