Chapter 832 Blind Date
"He's not your ex-boyfriend?"
"Yeah, he's not. I had him pretend to be my ex just to make you mad." Since they were on the topic, Juniper felt it was necessary to be honest.
"But I clearly saw you two..."
"Those were all accidents. Anyway, nothing happened between us. I was just lying to you, just like you lied to me about Hera being your girlfriend. It was all just an excuse."
A few seconds later, Anthony shook his head and smiled helplessly. "We are like two fools."
"Yeah, it's funny when you think about it, doing such childish things." Juniper also laughed. "That's why most of the intense love-hate relationships are self-inflicted. Instead of being straightforward, we go around in circles, causing so much trouble. It's exhausting."
"Yeah, so let's promise to be honest with each other from now on and not do such childish things."
"Okay."
Anthony lovingly kissed her forehead, his eyes overflowing with affection, almost drowning Juniper.
"I heated up some milk for you. Have a little." Juniper quickly brought it to him.
"I didn't expect you to be so considerate."
"Come on, what do you mean you didn't expect it? I've always been a kind-hearted, gentle, and considerate little princess, haven't I?"
"Yes, yes, you're my princess."
While having lunch, Juniper asked, "You didn't go home last night. Your dad must be even angrier, right?"
"My mom's there, so it should be fine. What about you?"
"I called my dad, but I hung up before he had a chance to get mad." Juniper stuck out her tongue, her lively expression as if she had just survived a great ordeal.
"Sorry for causing you trouble."
"Yeah, so don't drink too much in the future, especially don't pay attention to idiots like Ronnie. He's crazy, how could someone as rational as you go along with him?" Juniper shook her head.
"It was because I was jealous."
"Anyway, I'm just friends with him now. What's wrong? Are you unhappy?"
"He still has feelings for you."
"No, absolutely not." Juniper waved her hand, very sure of herself.
"If he didn't, he wouldn't have acted like that yesterday."
"Even if he doesn't have feelings for me, he still genuinely considers me a friend. Besides, maybe he's just a little unwilling to lose. Men are like that. I swear, there's nothing between us."
"Do you really need a friend like him? I don't want you to see him again. Of course, I won't force you not to see him, but just thinking about you two meeting makes me a little jealous."
"I wasn't planning on seeing him often anyway. If we run into each other occasionally, there's nothing I can do. I promise I won't actively seek him out or contact him. Is that okay?"
Anthony still seemed a bit hesitant. "But isn't that too controlling? I don't want to control you."
"No, I'm willing to do it. It's about mutual respect. If you met with other women alone, I'd be even more jealous than you."
Juniper placed her hand on the back of his hand, her fingers intertwining with his.
"Marriage and relationships are profound subjects that require careful management. We're both beginners and need to learn slowly. As long as we're sincere and tolerant of each other, we can last a long time."
She spoke these words seriously and gently, softening Anthony's heart.
He placed his other hand over hers, and they held each other's hands tightly.
Silent smiles were their unspoken vows.
In this silence, Anthony's feelings for her grew even stronger.
Every time he thought he couldn't love her more, his love for her deepened.
Expressing his love with a kiss, Anthony captured her lips. What started as a sweet kiss gradually became a passionate one.
Juniper began to breathe lightly in his arms. "Anthony..."
"No, we can't."
"You smell like alcohol. Go take a shower first." Her voice was as soft as a mosquito's, coquettish and tender.
"Can we after I shower?" Anthony looked at her with burning eyes.
"Well, that's not really possible either. You drank too much last night and just woke up. You can't exert yourself. Maybe another day." Juniper said sweetly.
"Now it's hard to even see you."
Juniper playfully hit his chest. "Go take a shower first."
They were supposed to leave after lunch, but they lingered until evening, unable to part.
For the 100th time, Juniper tried to get up from Anthony's arms. "No, I really have to go home."
"Just a little longer."
"You've been holding me all afternoon. Isn't that enough?"
"A lifetime wouldn't be enough."
"We'll meet again in a couple of days. I didn't go home last night, so my dad must be mad. You should go home early too, or it'll be even harder to meet next time."
Rationally, Anthony understood, but emotionally, he couldn't let go.
After another deep kiss, he finally let her go. "Call me when you get home."
"Okay."
He kissed her hand again before reluctantly letting go.
Juniper walked out of the hotel and called Aaron. "Dad, last night I..."
"Come to the Elysium Grand Hotel now. I'm waiting for you."
"Are we eating out tonight?"
"Yes. Don't you like the food at this hotel?"
"But your health..."
"I'm fine. Just come. Table 77."
"Okay, I'm on my way."
Juniper took a cab to the hotel, but no one was at table 77. She thought Aaron must be on his way, so she sat down to wait.
As soon as she took out her phone, she saw dozens of messages from Anthony, asking if she had gotten home safely.
Juniper replied: [Having dinner with my dad.]
[You took so long to reply. I was worried.]
[I wasn't looking at my phone. You're too nervous. Don't worry.]
[My precious is out there, and so many people are thinking about you. How can I not be nervous?]
Juniper smiled.
At that moment, a chubby, balding man in his forties or fifties sat across from her.
The moment he looked up, he was stunned by her beauty, his eyes filled with greed. It was as if he had never seen a woman before.
Juniper was immediately disgusted by his gaze. "You're sitting in the wrong place."
"No, I'm not. This is table 77. Are you Ms. Cooper? Wow, you're even more beautiful than the rumors, and your figure is amazing."
The man was practically drooling, and his gaze made Juniper feel like she was being treated like a prostitute.
She wanted to throw the water in front of her in his face.
"I'm Juniper. Who are you?"
"I'm your blind date and your future husband."
