Chapter 507 Also Wanted to Find a Man

After dinner, Susan got a call from May. "Hey, May."

Caleb was busy cleaning up the dishes.

"You on your way?" May asked.

"Yeah, we just finished eating, about to head out," Susan replied.

"Is Mr. Eilish with you?" May continued.

Susan glanced at Caleb, feeling a bit awkward. Caleb, being his usual charming self, blew her a kiss, making her blush. "Yeah, he's here."

There was a brief silence on the other end.

"Bring him along," May said.

Susan hesitated, "It's just gonna be me, you, and Mom. Dad might not be cool with it."

May insisted, "It's fine, better to have a guy around. Just come over."

"Alright then." Susan hung up and turned to Caleb, "May wants you to come over and help out."

In the Rolls-Royce RV, the driver was at the wheel, and Caleb was riding shotgun.

The back seat was roomy, enough for four people.

Susan was glad she called him; otherwise, the SUV would've been cramped. With a patient on board, the RV was way more convenient.

Caleb turned back and gave her a gentle smile. Susan's lips curled into a sweet grin.

This little exchange was painfully obvious to May. She didn't want to deal with this, but she couldn't help wanting to see Caleb.

She was totally obsessed with Caleb, dreaming about him all night, and they were very intimate dreams. Waking up, she felt this weird sense of loss.

Sitting in a multi-million-dollar RV, she was even more overwhelmed by Caleb's wealth, so direct and palpable.

The Wilson family, though middle-class, had total assets of only a few million dollars, just enough for Caleb to buy a car.

This immense wealth made Caleb even more attractive in May's eyes. Like a bright incandescent lamp, he crazily attracted her like a moth to a flame. She wanted to throw herself at him, even if it meant being burned to ashes.

May had always been indifferent to relationships, but since meeting Caleb, it was as if he had ignited a fire within her, burning her with intense heat.

She even had sudden impulses to pounce on him.

May clenched her fingers, her nails digging into her flesh.

Caleb...

The Wilson family’s small villa.

Maurice went straight to the study as soon as he got home. Seeing the neatly arranged books on the shelves, he smiled.

Carol shook her head with a smile. "You always have your mind on these books."

Maurice took out a book, lovingly caressing it. "Yes, they are my treasures."

Carol helped Maurice make the bed.

Susan looked around, many memories surfacing. As a child, she loved staying in Maurice's study, reading his books, even if she didn't understand some of them, she found them fascinating and could read all day.

She pointed to a corner and said to Caleb with a smile, "I used to sit there."

Caleb imagined a young Susan, his eyes filled with gentle light. This house, being where she grew up, held special meaning for him too. He looked around greedily, imagining her in every corner.

May squinted, jealousy flooding her.

"Mr. Eilish, thanks for your help," Maurice said, polite but somewhat distant.

Caleb smiled and nodded. Although Maurice hadn't fully accepted him yet, the current situation was good enough for him.

"You must be tired. Rest for a while, and we'll call you for dinner," Carol said, helping Maurice lie down.

"Bring me that book." Maurice said.

"You..." Carol handed it to him with a smile. "Just read for a bit and then rest, don't read too long."

"I know, I know, I'm nagging," Maurice replied.

"It's for your own good."

Caleb was touched by their affection, a smile forming on his lips. He looked at Susan, thinking they would be just as sweet in the future.

"Mr. Eilish..." Carol called.

"Aunt Carol, please call me Caleb."

Carol was taken aback for a moment. "Alright, Caleb. Do you like ravioli?"

"I do," Caleb replied.

Carol said, "Then let's make ravioli today."

"Sure, I'll join in," Susan raised her hand.

Carol asked, "Do you still remember how to make it?"

"Of course, and if I forget, I can always learn again," Susan smiled.

Carol said, "Then Susan, you help me with the ravioli, and May, you keep Caleb company."

"Got it," May said eagerly, sneaking a glance at Caleb, mesmerized by his handsomeness.

Susan and Carol chatted and laughed as they went into the kitchen, their laughter occasionally drifting out.

May felt a bit uncomfortable. She often came home on weekends to help Carol cook, but Carol had never been so happy. Was it different because Susan was her biological daughter?

But right now, the most important thing for her was Caleb.

May smiled warmly. "Would you like some tea? This is my favorite tea, and we only serve it to special guests."

"Thank you," Caleb replied.

May sat down. She had dressed up meticulously today, but Caleb still seemed indifferent.

Caleb's eyes were on the kitchen, even though the wall blocked his view. He still looked in that direction, smiling whenever he heard Susan's laughter.

A man's love often showed in the details.

May bit her lip. She was really envious. How wonderful it would be to be looked at like that by a man.

May tried to divert his attention. "May I ask, what is your relationship with Susan? Are you dating?"

Caleb thought for a moment. "Not exactly."

"Not exactly?" May was puzzled.

"I'm pursuing her," Caleb explained.

May was secretly annoyed but forced a smile. "I thought you two were already together, which is why I invited you over today. My dad is very conservative. If you're not officially dating, bringing you here might seem inappropriate."

"As long as she agrees, I'll marry her immediately!" Caleb's firm and powerful words cut May off.

May's heart skipped a beat.

'Marriage! The best proof of a man's love for a woman is marriage. Caleb's willing to marry Susan. What? Susan hasn't agreed yet? Such a good man, but Susan hasn't agreed to marry him. Is Susan feeling smug? Is this her tactic? And men are just fooled by such cheap tricks?' May thought jealously.

"Have you thought it through?" May's face was starting to turn green.

"I've wanted to marry her for four years, and that hasn't changed," Caleb replied.

May's smile was now stiff. "With your power and wealth, you could have any heiress in the world. It's rare to see someone so devoted, loving Susan unwaveringly for four years."

Caleb added, "For the next forty, fifty years, I'll still love her the same."

At this point, May was so jealous that she wanted to smash her cup. Almost gasping, she said, "I'm really envious of Susan for having a man who loves her so deeply. I wonder when I'll meet someone like that. I've been independent and self-reliant all these years, almost thinking I don't need a man. Until I met you..." May licked her lips. "I mean, seeing how devoted you are to Susan, I really envy her and want to find a man to fall in love with. What do you think?"
