Chapter 880 Brynn Elise

Elara stood there, drenched and awkward, water dripping from her body, looking utterly disheveled and full of guilt.

"Speak up!" Saffron yelled at her.

"He, he said before that he would send us to Libertonia."

"You also said that was before. He had changed his mind, I'm sure of it!" Saffron said firmly.

"You must have caused trouble. Haven't you been apologizing to me all the time? Just tell me clearly, what did you do wrong this time?"

"I, I didn't..."

"You're lying!" Saffron was almost frantic. "How can I figure out a solution if you don't tell me?"

Tears welled up in Elara's eyes, her lips quivered, words were on the tip of her tongue, but her throat felt sour and astringent, like she was holding a slice of lemon.

She really didn't dare to speak.

"Saffron, don't worry. I will definitely find a way to persuade your dad not to kick us out. Trust me!"

But Saffron sarcastically retorted, "If you had a way, would you have knelt down and begged him just now? And what happened? He still didn't relent, did he?"

Saffron's undisguised contempt felt like needles piercing Elara's heart, making her feel deeply ashamed.

"You used to be quite ruthless. How did you become such a useless coward? You're not even as good as me. At least I managed to get rid of one of Juniper's kids. And you? You can't do anything."

"Stop crying in front of me, it's so unlucky. If you can't think of a solution, go back to your room and stop making me angry."

Elara felt despised and humiliated, more than she had ever felt in her life.

She couldn't lift her head in front of her husband and daughter. Living like this, she might as well be dead.

But she had brought this upon herself.

"I'm, I'm sorry..."

"Stop saying useless things and get out!" Saffron cursed at her irritably. "Just looking at you annoys me!"

The Cooper Villa was in the midst of a storm, but over at Juniper's side, it was all sunshine.

Last night, she and Anthony had cuddled in the hotel for two nights in a row, doing nothing but feeling incredibly sweet.

So much so that when she went to work the next day, she couldn't stop smiling, as if she had eaten honey.

"Alright, alright, I really can't talk anymore. I need to start working." Juniper said, wanting to hang up the phone but feeling very reluctant.

"Just ten more minutes."

She glanced at the computer clock and smiled, "You said that half an hour ago."

"Who can resist my baby's sweet voice? I can't bear to."

"Is it my voice you can't bear, or is it me?"

"Both." Anthony said affectionately. "When I let go of you this morning, I really didn't want to. I wish I could hold you until we're old."

"That's not possible. Such a wonderful life, it would be a waste to just spend it holding each other."

"We can also do some 'fun' things."

Juniper's face turned red, and she playfully scolded, "You know that's not what I meant. Alright, I really can't talk anymore. I have a lot to do today."

"Not even five more minutes?"

It's impossible to refuse a man when he's being coquettish.

Just as Juniper was about to give in, there was a knock at the door.

"I have to work now, talk to you later." Juniper quickly hung up the phone.

"Come in."

Kieran walked in with a bouquet of small sunflowers, "For you."

"Wow, why the sudden gift? You wouldn't happen to have a crush on me, would you?"

Because they were such good friends, Juniper could joke around without any reservations.

"You guessed it, you're so smart." Kieran replied smoothly.

"Don't love me, it won't end well."

"I know, who would dare touch Mr. Eilish's woman? That would be overestimating oneself." Kieran sat down. "You just got out of the hospital, sunflowers represent vitality."

"Thank you, I'm full of vitality now." Juniper said happily.

"I can see that. It's great to have you back. I don't have to fight alone anymore."

"I think it's great too." People shouldn't be idle, especially someone as career-driven as her.

"I'm taking over the Vanguard Innovations Group project, right? I looked at the information."

"Yes, this project is highly competitive."

"No matter how big, I can handle it." Juniper confidently raised her chin.

"I don't doubt that, but the process might not be that simple."

"What do you mean?"

"I heard the person in charge over there is a bad-tempered, unprofessional woman, much like Saffron. She will definitely make things difficult for you."

Women, either they are friends or they don't get along.

"Have you ever seen me afraid? She should be afraid of me."

"That's true. I'll wait to see who conquers whom."

"It will definitely be me conquering her." Juniper said with confidence.

After organizing the information in the morning, Juniper headed to Vanguard Innovations Group in the afternoon.

She arrived a little after one and waited until four, but the woman named Brynn Elise still hadn't shown up.

Juniper glanced at her watch, "When will Ms. Elise be here?"

"That's hard to say. Maybe five, maybe in the next second, or maybe she won't come to work at all today."

"Does she have other work?"

The secretary shook her head, "I don't know, maybe a spa, shopping, or afternoon tea. Anything is possible."

"Is this how she works?" Even more outrageous than Saffron.

"After all, she's Mr. Elise's precious daughter. She has connections."

Juniper couldn't help but laugh. That was true.

"My legs are sore from shopping, I'm exhausted. Why do I have to come back to the office to sign? Can't they send it to my house? Or you sign it for me."

A soft, complaining voice sounded.

A beautiful woman in a Chanel suit walked in, complaining about being tired.

Eldon Soto gently persuaded, "This requires your personal signature, I can't do it for you. Didn't you just promise Mr. Elise to work seriously?"

"My dad just says that, he wouldn't really let me get tired. Anyway, my brother is taking over the company, I just need to shop and look pretty. I hate working."

Brynn's thoughts were simple: never work, her family could afford it.

"Just sign a few contracts and you can leave. Hang in there." Eldon comforted.

"Tonight, I must eat more. No, I'm on a diet. I can't eat too much before seeing him. I want to meet him in my slimmest state."

As Brynn spoke, she suddenly stopped, "Who are you?"

Seeing a woman as beautiful as herself, Brynn felt a bit annoyed. This was the instinctive hostility of a proud girl towards a pretty peer.

"This must be Ms. Elise. I'm Juniper, the project manager from the Cooper Group." Juniper extended her hand.
