Chapter 594: Let's Die Together
Warehouse No. 8.
The place reeked of rust, and dust was just hanging in the air.
A beam of light hit Grace.
Candy was already tied to a chair by Grace. The moment she saw Susan, Candy started struggling and screaming, "Susan, save me, save me!"
"Candy, don't freak out, I'm here, I'll get you out," Susan said quickly. She was super anxious but had to keep it together. Candy was counting on her; she couldn't lose it now.
Grace let out a cold laugh, "You can't even save yourself, and you wanna play hero? Susan, you're such a hypocrite."
"Grace, you're tying up your own daughter, how can you be so heartless?"
"Heartless? Compared to you all, I'm nothing. You all pushed me to this point, and you call me heartless? You're the shameless ones!"
"Whatever, that's between us. Let Candy go first," Susan tried to calm Grace down.
"This is my daughter, stop pretending you care about her."
"You know she's your daughter and you still tie her up? Grace, you deserve to die!" Susan snapped, "Do you know how much this will mess Candy up? You're gonna ruin her life!"
"I can't care about that anymore. Susan, it's been four years, four whole years. Why do you keep haunting me? Why do you have to wreck my family? Are you happy now that you've pushed me to this point? You pretend to care about my daughter just to trick Caleb into kicking me out of the country, right? But it's not that easy. I said, even if I die, I'll drag you with me!"
"Come here!" Grace ordered, pulling out a gun and pointing it at Candy.
"Don't shoot, I'm coming, I'm coming," Susan shouted quickly.
As soon as she got close, Grace smacked her hard on the head with the gun, and Susan's head started bleeding right away.
"Susan—" Candy cried.
"I'm, I'm fine," Blood blurred Susan's vision, and she felt dizzy.
Grace dragged her to a chair and tied her up.
"There's gonna be a good show soon!" Grace laughed like a madwoman.
Soon, an off-road vehicle screeched into the warehouse.
The car came to a screeching halt and Caleb burst out, charging at Grace like a madman, ready to kill her.
"Take one more step, and I'll kill them," Grace pointed the gun at Susan's head.
Caleb stopped immediately, "Grace, I order you to release them right now."
"What? Order me? Hahaha..." Grace laughed, "Caleb, you still don't get it? Now you're the one begging me."
"If you dare to touch one hair on their heads, I'll make sure your whole family pays."
"You think I'm scared? Caleb, at this point, I'm not scared of anything. I'm telling you, I never planned to leave here alive today. I don't care even if you kill my whole family. Now, kneel down and talk."
Caleb clenched his fists.
"Kneel down!" Grace said, about to pull the trigger.
"Caleb, don't kneel," Susan shouted.
"Shut up!" Grace continued.
Caleb frowned and knelt down, his knees hitting the ground.
"Daddy, daddy..." Candy cried even harder.
"Haha..." Grace laughed, "Caleb, aren't you so powerful? You have your day too? Serves you right! Didn't you say you can crush me like a bug at will? Now, who's the humble one? If you wanna save them, beg me."
"Please..." Caleb said without a second thought.
"Caleb, you can beg? Too bad it's too late. These four years, you've humiliated me, tortured me beyond recognition. How could I let you off easy?"
"The person you hate is me, let them go."
"No, I hate not only you but also Susan, that bitch."
"Candy, look, it's not my fault. It's them who made me like this. They are the real culprits."
Candy cried like a storm, "Mommy, please stop, I beg you... Mommy..."
"No, at this point, I have no way back. Even if I let you go, your daddy will still want my life."
"Grace, let them go, I promise not to hurt you," Caleb promised.
Grace shook her head, "I'd rather drag you all to hell with me than live like a coward."
"Caleb, you said before, you love both of them. Now, choose one."
Caleb's eyes filled with blood.
"If you choose Candy, I'll kill Susan. If you choose Susan, then Candy... You can't blame me, Candy, it's your daddy who killed you..." Grace was already off her rocker.
"Grace, if you want to kill, kill me."
"Kill you? Yes, Caleb, you deserve to die, but killing you would be too easy. I want you to watch one of them die because of your choice. Isn't that more torturous? Haha... Just thinking about it is exciting. Choose one."
"Caleb, don't worry about me, save Candy," Susan's eyes were firm, but her heart was filled with fear.
"Susan, at this point, you still want to play the saint? Is it interesting? Think about it, you have another one in your belly. That's two lives. You don't want your child to die, right? Then beg Caleb, beg him to save you... Say it!"
Susan gritted her teeth, trembling all over, but refused to speak.
"You have a hard mouth." Grace mocked.
"Caleb, I have no patience. If you don't choose, I'll kill them both. I'll count to three... Three... Two..." Grace urged.
"Grace!" Caleb roared, wishing he could tear her to pieces.
Grace's eyes turned fierce, and she aimed at Susan's head, pulling the trigger.
"Susan!" Caleb shouted.
Susan thought she was doomed, closing her eyes in fear, but the gun didn't fire.
She slowly opened her eyes.
"Hahahaha... Caleb, did you cry? Watching the woman you love die in front of you, isn't it painful?"
"Grace!" Caleb got up and charged at her.
But Grace immediately pulled out another gun and aimed at him. Caleb quickly dodged, but the bullet still hit his leg. He collapsed to one knee.
"Die, Susan!" Grace aimed to shoot her, but Caleb quickly pounced on her, struggling for the gun.
Several times the gun was aimed at Caleb, Grace was going crazy.
Finally, Caleb knocked Grace out with a punch.
"Caleb—" Susan called.
"It's, it's over." Caleb, pale-faced, untied Susan. Susan quickly untied Candy, and the three hugged tightly.
"Daddy... I'm so scared..." Candy was terrified.
"It's over... I'm here, I will protect you." Caleb answered. "Let's go."
Just as the three were about to leave, a bucket of gasoline was poured on them.
"You all die together." Grace threw a lighter at them, erupting an inferno.
