Chapter 736 Then Stay

Last night, Elara didn't sleep at all. She kept Aaron up until 4 AM, finally convincing him to send Juniper abroad.

Of course, it had to be done quickly; otherwise, if he changed his mind, all their efforts would be in vain.

"Say it, honey!"

Aaron hesitated for a moment before speaking, "Juniper, you've had so many unpleasant experiences here. How about going abroad to relax? Stay in Libertonia for a while?"

He paused, then continued, "I'm not trying to send you away; I'm just worried about your well-being. You haven't been happy since you came back. Maybe you'll feel better abroad. What do you think?"

"Okay," Juniper agreed without hesitation.

They didn't expect her to agree so readily and were momentarily stunned.

Saffron, barely containing her joy, added, "Juniper, you agreed to leave so quickly. You can't really be dumped by a guy again, right? They say people only want to leave a place after a breakup. It's for the best."

"When you're abroad, be more discerning. Don't treat relationships like a game. We're thousands of miles away and can't protect you."

"Protect me? It's good enough if you don't harm me," Juniper sneered.

"Juniper, how can you say that? We're sisters..."

"I don't have a sister who steals my boyfriend."

"Are you still holding a grudge over that? Juniper, I've apologized countless times, and it was Douglas who pursued me, not the other way around..."

"What's past is past. Don't talk about it anymore." Aaron, having heard this argument hundreds of times, was already annoyed.

"I'll have the butler over there arrange a place for you. Don't worry, you'll get your monthly allowance. Just rest and don't work."

"Or, if you want to travel to other countries, that's fine too. I'll cover everything." Aaron still loved this daughter dearly.

Elara was displeased. She felt a pang every time Juniper used the Cooper family's money.

"No need, I have my own money."

"Where did you get money?"

"My salary."

"Your salary is barely enough for a plane ticket. What will you do over there?"

"Find a job."

"It's not like I can't support you. Why find a job? It's too exhausting. It's tough for a girl to be out and about."

Aaron added earnestly, "First, go over there and adjust. Get some beauty treatments, buy some nice clothes, shoes, and bags. Once you're settled, meet some of my friends' sons over there and see if there's a match."

Juniper didn't even look at him. "I won't be your tool for arranged marriages."

"How can you say that? I'm just trying to find you a good match. Look at the people you've dated; none of them worked out."

"I know young people prefer to date freely and resist arranged marriages, but I don't see anything wrong with it. Knowing each other well increases the chances of a successful marriage."

"Look at your friends. Aren't they all married through arrangements?"

Juniper retorted, "Are they happy? Their husbands are out partying every night. Can they control them? Pretending not to know—I can't do that. If that's the case, I'd rather stay single forever."

"Ridiculous! Are you planning to stay single forever?" Aaron, who initially wanted to speak calmly, couldn't help but slam the table.

"Even if I do, it's my life."

Saffron smirked, secretly pleased. She hoped Juniper would stay single forever and wanted to see her argue with Aaron until their father-daughter relationship was severed.

'That foolish Juniper is so arrogant and has such a terrible temper. She blows up at the slightest provocation. Unlike me, who is gentle and knows how to please men.'

So what if she was pretty? With a bad temper, men would eventually get tired of her.

From Douglas to Anthony, and now this latest guy, she'd been dumped three times. That was proof enough.

She wouldn't find happiness and didn't deserve it. Just thinking about it made Saffron happy.

'The one who laughs last, laughs the brightest, and that will be me.'

She could marry Douglas, while Juniper would end up alone.

Thinking of this, Saffron smiled even more brightly.

"Dad, it's good that Juniper wants to be independent. Don't try to persuade her. Juniper, good luck. I support you in spirit."

Aaron sighed, "You're too naive. Money isn't easy to earn. The world outside is dangerous, and without money, you won't get far. You'll suffer."

"That's my business. I've already booked my ticket for 10 AM tomorrow." Juniper finished her meal, put down her fork, and went upstairs.

"Honey, your daughter is something else. She's so headstrong. Let's see how long she can last abroad on her own. She hasn't faced the harsh realities of society. She'll be back begging you in no time."

Elara, of course, didn't want Juniper to use any more family money.

But on the other hand, if Juniper ran out of money, she'd have to come back, and Elara was eager to see her return in disgrace. It would be so satisfying.

Aaron thought for a moment and followed her upstairs. "Juniper, I'm coming in."

He pushed the door open.

Juniper was packing.

"Why such a small suitcase? You used to take several when you went abroad. Are you planning to buy things there? I'll transfer a million dollars to you. Spend it however you like, as long as you're happy."

"No need. I'm only taking essentials. The rest, I don't want. You can throw them away or sell them. It's your money anyway. You can also clear out this room; no need to keep it for me."

"What are you saying? This is your home. This room will always be yours."

"No need. I probably won't come back after I go abroad."

"Don't say such harsh things. Even if you settle abroad, this will always be your home, your real home."

Juniper smiled, a faint but piercingly sarcastic smile, like a needle prick. "A place with family is a home. Otherwise, it's just a house, no different from any other."

"I'm your dad. I'm your closest family!"

"You were. But don't worry, I'm sure Elara and her daughter will take good care of you, as long as your money doesn't run out." Juniper reminded him.

"Don't say I'm trying to sow discord, but they've already placed many of their relatives in the company. They're all useless and can't help the company. I'm just afraid they'll be like parasites, hollowing out the Cooper Group. By the time you realize it, it'll be too late."

"Do you think I am really senile and know nothing? I'm just waiting for them to slip up, then I'll catch them all."

"I'm just afraid that if Elara cries and begs, you'll let them go."

"This is a matter of principle. How could I let them go and face the company? I wouldn't. I still have principles; otherwise, the company wouldn't be this big. You still care about me, don't you?" Aaron was a bit moved.

"You misunderstood. I just don't want my grandparents' and mom's hard work to be ruined by those people."

Aaron impulsively said, "If you care so much about their hard work, then stay and join the Cooper Group. Aren't you worried about those people?"
