Chapter 787 Honeyed Mouth

Seeing Juniper shake her head and mock her with that superior attitude and tone, Saffron, already simmering with anger, felt her fury surge even higher.

"Juniper, do you have delusions? Do you think all your men are treasures? That I'd want to steal every one of them? This one must not be anything good; I wouldn't take him even if you gave him to me!"

"Then why are you getting close to him? Can't find someone on your own, so you have to steal from others? How cheap is that? And have you looked in the mirror? Look at your ghostly appearance, as fat as a dinosaur. Stop embarrassing yourself."

"I, I..." Saffron felt even more inferior, almost crying from anger, "Juniper, just you wait!"

She stomped her foot and ran off.

Juniper walked into the room, "What did Saffron say just now?"

"Nothing, just brought me some apples."

"Really?" Juniper raised an eyebrow, clearly not buying it.

Brice touched his nose, "Alright, Saffron... she's not a very good person."

"She's far worse than just having a bad character."

Brice smiled, "My darling, you're so cute when you're angry."

"When am I not cute?"

"Hmm, you're always cute."

"Seeing her at home is annoying, let me take you out for a walk. You haven't been here before, right?"

"Yeah, it's my first time. Then I'll trouble the beautiful tour guide, Ms. Cooper."

"There's a tour guide fee." Juniper extended her hand.

Brice grabbed her hand and pulled her into his arms, kissing her lips, "Is this enough? If not, I can..."

"What are you thinking? Am I that kind of person?" Juniper pinched his face, "Men are all lecherous, and you're no exception, you bad thing."

"Being affectionate with my girlfriend isn't lecherous, it's called being unable to help myself," Brice said sweetly.

But he wasn't in a hurry; the best things are worth waiting for. He actually wanted to take it slow, enjoying the anticipation and the process.

Juniper drove Brice to several major tourist spots, where he pulled her into taking many photos together.

Walking into a small shop, Juniper kept saying she was hot, "I hate the heat the most. Taking you out in this weather is definitely true love."

"Thank you, baby, you've worked hard." Brice helped her wipe her sweat.

"Two iced fruit juices."

From the nearby table came a conversation.

"I still can't believe Anthony actually ran away from the wedding. My God, it's more dramatic than a TV show."

"What's so surprising? Didn't you see the news a few days ago about him hugging his mistress? I had a feeling then."

"The news was taken down so quickly, and the information couldn't be forwarded. That's the power of money!"

They were in the news?

Juniper looked confused and a bit nervous.

"Too bad the photo was blurry. We still don't know what the mistress looks like or who she is. Otherwise, I'd beat her up to show her the consequences of being a mistress!"

Juniper lowered her head, feeling very embarrassed in front of Brice.

"But it seems Mr. Eilish truly loves that mistress, running away from the wedding for her."

"Isn't that right? The Eilish Group's stock price plummeted, and the losses behind it are huge. Plus, the Eilish family's reputation is severely damaged. He must have thought it through before running away from the wedding. It's like he's risking everything for love."

"Yeah, he could have just gotten married and then been with the mistress in private. That's how it usually is with wealthy families, but he didn't do that... It does make him seem brave and responsible."

"Do you think he and the mistress will get married?"

"Not necessarily, but mistresses are all despicable. I don't hope they have a good ending. Otherwise, where's the justice? Everyone would become a mistress, and society would be in chaos."

"Exactly! I curse that mistress to choke on her food."

Juniper choked on her drink.

Brice quickly helped her wipe her mouth and patted her back, "Take it slow..."

"Look at that woman, she's so beautiful, such a seductive look."

"Yeah, she looks a lot like Mr. Eilish's mistress. Men would all be tempted by that."

"Right, men all like beautiful and seductive women. Hera looks more innocent, no wonder she couldn't compete."

Juniper lowered her head.

Brice thought she was feeling unwell and comforted her, "Don't worry about what they say. I know and trust you, and that's enough."

These words were very heartwarming, "Thank you, Brice."

"It should be me thanking you."

"Thanking me?"

"Thank you for appearing in my world, beautiful."

"You're so good with words, you should write a book. I'd buy ten copies and be your most loyal fan."

"Silly."

Juniper continued eating but thought of Anthony. He must be in a lot of trouble now. She couldn't help but worry about him.

The room's curtains were drawn, making it pitch dark.

Anthony locked himself in the room.

It was dark, and the room was filled with the smell of alcohol.

Every time he thought of Juniper and Brice kissing, Anthony couldn't help but drink, trying to forget, but his mind was unusually clear. It felt like two hands were pulling at his temples, causing great pain.

The phone screen kept flashing, calls from home, the company, Hera, and various people, flashing for hours.

Anthony answered.

"Where are you now? Come home immediately." Anthony's father's voice was very angry.

"I've always trusted you, how could you cause such a scene at the wedding? Come back now, and we'll go to Hera's house together to apologize."

Anthony smiled bitterly, "At this point, apologizing is useless."

"Are you just going to ignore it? Anthony, this is not what a man does. A man should take responsibility!"

"Dad, I'm sorry, but I can't take this responsibility. I can't marry Hera; it would only harm both of us. I don't love her, and I can't spend my life with her."

"Then why didn't you say so earlier? Why did you have to say it at the wedding? What about the reputations of both families?"

Anthony pinched his brow, "I know I'm guilty, but this is the only way."

"You... come back now!"

"Sorry." Anthony said and hung up the phone.

Everyone must be cursing him now. Yes, he deserved it.

He hurt others and himself; he was a terrible person.

Someone like him doesn't deserve happiness, so Juniper left him and chose someone else.

She must be in love with that person now. Maybe they'd get married, and he might end up alone.

'As long as she's happy, it doesn't matter how miserable I am.'

Anthony continued to drown himself in alcohol in the dark room.

It was past nine when Juniper finally got home.

She complained all the way, "I've been out in the sun all day, so hot."

"Did you have fun?"

"Yes, but going out with you is too high-profile. Everyone was looking at you, this handsome mixed-race guy."

"Our future baby will be mixed-race too, definitely very cute."

'Why suddenly talk about kids? But it's true, even someone like me who isn't really fond of children finds mixed-race babies adorable and want to scream how cute they are. Mixed-race with our high looks, oh my, they'd definitely be popular in the future.'

Stop, was she really thinking about having kids with him? Thinking too far ahead.

Brice pinched her nose, "Are you also imagining how cute our baby would be?"
