Chapter 248 Who Else Cares About You?

Susan stumbled out of the private room after Caleb's command to ‘Get Lost.’

"Mr. Eilish, let's continue drinking. Don't let that kind of woman affect your mood."

"Yeah, Mr. Eilish, let me feed you grapes." A beautiful woman bit her red lips and leaned in, but Caleb swiftly slapped her away and chased after Susan.

As soon as he reached the bar, he saw Susan flagging down a taxi and getting in.

He thought, 'Stupid woman, drinking a bottle of whisky and still daring to take a cab. Is she asking for trouble?'

Caleb quickly got into his luxury car.

"Follow the taxi in front!"

"Yes, Mr. Eilish."

The car reached halfway when the taxi in front stopped. Susan hurriedly pushed open the door and vomited by the roadside. The driver immediately left her and drove away.

Susan's loud vomiting was accompanied by a nauseating smell.

Her stomach was in excruciating pain, and she was sweating profusely with a deathly pale face.

First, tears were forced out by the vomit, and then she began crying continuously.

She didn't usually cry, but recently her emotions had been crumbling, and she would burst into tears easily.

"Why are you crying?" A man's irritated voice came from behind her.

It was him. What was he doing chasing after her?

Susan quickly regained control with what little consciousness she had left, forcefully wiping away her tears, and ignoring him.

"Can you get up?" Caleb impatiently watched her, and couldn't help but reach out to help, but Susan slapped his hand away.

"Don't touch me!" she exclaimed angrily.

‘She was being stubborn again?

‘He shouldn't have followed her!’

While Caleb was thinking this, he didn't leave.

"Why are you taking your anger out on me? I didn't force you to drink," he said.

"You did force me to drink!" Susan suddenly stood up, her bloodshot eyes staring fiercely at Caleb.

Her eyes were filled with resentment and anger. Did she hate him that much?

For a moment, he had nothing to say.

After several seconds passed, he finally shouted, "You brought this upon yourself!"

"Yes, I brought it upon myself. If I don't fight back, I'll be bullied to death by all of you. In your eyes, am I just your plaything?"

Caleb was furious. "Susan, speak honestly, who betrayed who first?"

"You were the first one to betray!"

Caleb was shocked. His face changed drastically. "What are you saying?"

Did she know that he hadn't completely severed ties with Grace at the early stage of their relationship?

Grace was the woman arranged for him by his family. It was a business alliance without any emotions, only interests. At that time, he was ambitious in his career and didn't have any woman he liked, so marrying anyone was the same for him until he met Susan. They dated for three days, then he immediately decided he wouldn't marry anyone else but she and he broke up with Grace, but she didn't accept it and kept causing trouble.

In this matter, Caleb could only say that Susan took him by surprise, leaving him unprepared.

Except for the first three days when he hid something, he was honest afterward.

"I don't want to see you anymore," Susan wiped away her tears.

"Explain yourself," Caleb asked, pursuing her.

Susan remained silent. She didn't want to dwell on past grievances anymore and staggered to leave.

"Susan, you..."

"Go away!"

As soon as his fingers touched her, Susan pushed him away fiercely. Her movement was too abrupt and she stumbled, losing her balance. Caleb quickly caught her from behind and couldn't help but berate her again, "I told you not to force yourself, yet you still act out. Why are you so stubborn? You weren't like this before."

Just as Susan regained her balance, she struggled forcefully. "What's wrong with me being stubborn? If I were still as weak as before, I couldn't have kept going."

"What do you want to persevere for? Don't you have a man? Is your man a useless person who can't even support his own wife? Why would you want such a man?"

Caleb really wanted to ask why she would prefer a useless person over him. What was he lacking?

Especially since he was infatuated with her back then. At that time, he was even willing to die for her.

"In my eyes, any man is better than you," Susan said disdainfully.

Caleb's self-esteem was once again severely damaged.

Other women would cater to him, and submit to him, but because of her, he often felt like he was despised garbage.

Yet he was foolish, repeatedly seeking her out, each time deepening his sense of defeat.

Susan turned away.

"Where are you going?" Caleb once again couldn't help but follow her.

"Don't follow me."

"I was worried about you getting into trouble," Caleb couldn't help muttering.

"Does it have anything to do with you if I get into trouble?" Susan frowned, her gaze very impatient.

Caleb was speechless.

Did she have anything to do with him? Even if she got into a car accident today and was taken advantage of by a man, it had nothing to do with him.

"Look at yourself now." Caleb couldn't stand it anymore.

Why did she make herself look so ragged?

"If I don't care about you, who would care about you? "Your husband in Fagmar? Please, he's probably fooling around with other women as we speak."

"Nobody cares about you except me," Caleb spat out in anger.

With little patience for words, he swiftly moved forward and hoisted her up.

Susan's stomach lurched against his shoulder, threatening to empty its contents. "Caleb, you jerk, put me down!" she yelled, her voice strained with nausea.

Her legs flailed and thrashed, desperate to break free.

She pounded his back like a mad person.

"Let go of me.

"Let go.

"I don't need you to take care of me."

Susan struggled desperately like an angry cat.

It was dawn.

The morning light shone on Susan's bed.

She woke up with a splitting headache.

Where was she? A hotel?

Her face turned pale, and her first reaction was to lower her head and look at her clothes. She was wearing only a bathrobe.

Last night, she grabbed a vase and threw it at the man who had just entered, shouting, "Caleb, you bastard!"

Caleb dodged the vase and glanced at the broken pieces on the floor. This woman had thrown the vase at his face. If it had hit him, half his face would have been disfigured.

She was ruthless!

He frowned immediately. "Susan, do you really think I wouldn't dare to kill you?"

"If you have the guts, kill me now!" Susan stood tall, with her hair disheveled, reminding Caleb of those female warriors.

Interesting!

His body reacted suddenly.

Why? How could he react to a crazy person?

Caleb looked dangerous. "Don't think I won't, it would be easy for me to crush you."

Susan's eyes turned red with anger. "You’d better kill me now. If you don't, someday I'll be the one killing you."

She had that ability? Caleb wanted to mock her foolishness, but he realized that he couldn't find it in himself to laugh because she had already made his life more miserable than a dead man.

Four years ago, he drank alcohol every day to the point of gastric perforation. If he had been a step late in going to the hospital, he would have died.

During his suffering, she was enjoying herself with her lover.

Thinking of these things, Caleb almost couldn't restrain himself from choking her.

"Caleb, I know you're shameless, but I didn't expect you to be shameless enough to take advantage of a woman. Despicable!"
