Chapter 503 Date

The Eilish Group.

The boss's elevator hit the first floor.

Caleb and his assistant strolled out, one after the other.

Caleb, standing at a solid 6 feet, turned heads left and right, especially the ladies who couldn't help but sneak peeks.

"Mr. Eilish is such a hottie, and that body? Total model vibes."

"His face is like, carved from stone."

"So cold, so manly."

"Mr. Eilish is too good to be caught up in that domestic violence and child abuse mess. Grace must be lying."

"Right? Only folks who haven't seen him in person would believe that crap. I can read people, and Mr. Eilish screams gentleman."

"But I bet he's wild in bed. I'd love to find out."

"By the way, Grace's been MIA for like, half a month. What's up with that?"

"Probably hiding 'cause she's got nothing to back up her claims."

"Mr. Eilish just smiled to himself. Dude's in love."

"So jealous."

"Totally envious."

"Mr. Eilish, we heading to the hospital now?"

"Yeah." Caleb shoved one hand in his pocket and picked up the pace.

Seeing him all chipper, the assistant couldn't resist, "Things must be going great with Ms. Wilson, huh?"

Caleb's lips twitched into a grin. "Is it that obvious?"

"A guy in love can't hide it in his eyes."

"True that."

The assistant felt a wave of sweetness from that.

Just as they hit the lobby, Caleb froze, surprise flashing in his eyes.

There stood Susan, rocking the white dress and green knit from that day, looking all fresh and bright.

Caleb's heart did a happy dance. She remembered.

Love-struck Caleb sped up. "What brings you here?"

"Didn't you say when my dad got better, I should wear this for our date?"

Caleb was about to nod when Susan added, "Don't get any ideas, it's just a friendly date."

Caleb smiled. "Sure thing."

Even if she said that, their bond definitely tightened after the date.

Seeing her made him stupidly happy, his heart practically singing.

Seeing his goofy grin, Susan couldn't help but smile too. Good vibes are contagious, right?

They hopped in the car, and Caleb kept sneaking glances, grinning like a fool.

"Quit staring." Susan laughed. He was looking so much, she felt like hiding her face.

"You're stunning."

Today's makeup was even more on point than at the hospital, absolutely gorgeous.

"Even if I am, you can't stare like that, it's rude."

"Then let me snap a pic so I can stare at it later."

Susan teased him for being over the top, but inside, she felt all warm and fuzzy. Every girl loves a good compliment, especially when they've put in the effort. It feeds the ego and gives a little boost of pride.

"No way, who knows what weird stuff you'd do with my pic."

Caleb raised an eyebrow, a playful glint in his eye. "What kind of weird stuff do you think I'd do?"

Susan got it instantly, blushing. "Stop with the dirty thoughts, okay?"

"How do you know what I'm thinking? Seems like you have those 'dirty' thoughts about me a lot."

"Caleb." Susan was mortified. The assistant was still there; could he not be a bit more subtle? She got embarrassed so easily.

"You started it."

"No, I didn't."

"Didn't you bring up the word 'dirty' first?"

"I... I don't wanna talk to you. I shouldn't have come today. Let me out of the car."

The assistant knew better than to stop. If he did, he'd be out of a job in a heartbeat.

So, he kept driving.

Susan pretended to make a break for it, reaching for the door handle when Caleb's big hand caught hers, his voice soft. "Okay, okay, my bad, alright?"

Susan huffed, "What exactly were you wrong about?"

"Everything."

It sounded like a total cop-out.

But Susan let it slide. "Let go."

"Your hand's cold, lemme warm it up."

"You're lying."

Her hand was warm, and they both knew it.

Caleb grinned. "Fine, your hand's warm, mine's cold. Help a guy out."

"I don't wanna. Let go." Susan tried to twist her wrist free.

"Not letting go."

"Let go."

"Not letting go."

As they bickered, Susan couldn't help but laugh. "You're so shameless."

"Yep, shameless and stuck to you like glue."

Susan had no idea how to handle him.

The car pulled up to a fancy restaurant.

Candlelight dinner, romantic vibes.

Caleb pulled out a chair for Susan.

"Thanks."

As soon as they walked in, heads turned.

"Isn't that Mr. Eilish?"

"Is that his side chick? She's kinda cute."

"Can you even be a homewrecker without some looks? But she's just okay, not as hot as Grace."

"Grace vanished, maybe she got silenced?"

"Beating his wife, abusing his kids, and now having a candlelight dinner with his side piece. Mr. Eilish is heartless."

"Look at his eyes, he seems really into her."

They weren't exactly whispering, and Susan heard it all. But she just calmly flipped through the menu, unbothered.

Caleb whispered something to the waiter, who nodded and went over to those loudmouths.

"You're telling us to leave? On what grounds? We're paying customers, and the customer is always right, got it?"

"Yeah, we have freedom of speech. Who are you to shut us up?"

"Aren't we just speaking the truth?" The guests started making a scene.

"Please be quiet and don't disturb other guests."

"Ask us to leave and still want us to be quiet? We won't leave."

"Forget it." Susan quietly advised Caleb, not wanting their night ruined by these jerks.

But Caleb wasn't having it. This was their rare date night, and he wasn't letting anyone mess it up.

"Throw them out."

"Caleb, just 'cause you got power and money, you think you're all that? We're guests, and you're not the boss. What right do you have to kick us out?"

At that moment, the waiter chimed in, "Mr. Eilish owns this restaurant."

The two were stunned.

Caleb, with his natural authority, said calmly, "This is my place. I decide who eats here and who doesn't. If you're not fit, you're out, so you don't ruin my appetite."

"Throw them out."

The waiter got the security.

"Why?"

"Let go!"

"I'll never come here again."

"What's so great about it anyway."

The two were tossed out.

The restaurant went back to its peaceful state.

But Susan's mood was a bit dampened. Being with Caleb meant they'd always be the talk of the town, whether openly or behind their backs. This was probably their new normal.
