Chapter 377 I Love You Extremely
"A gift? What is it?" Layla hurriedly put down the orange juice in her hand and quickly the box.
"It's for you, there’s no rush." Samuel couldn't help but smile.
"Girls like surprises." Layla opened the box. Inside were a pair of star-shaped earrings. To her surprise, it was not expensive diamond jewelry. It was understated for daily wear, exquisite yet not flashy, and suitable for wearing to work.
"It’s so beautiful!" She exclaimed in surprise.
"Do you like it?"
"Yes, I like it very much. I prefer this over expensive jewelry. Help me put it on."
Samuel's smile became even brighter as he saw how happy and excited Layla was. He got up, carefully took off the earrings she was wearing, and gently put on the star earrings for her.
Layla's heart felt warm and beat wildly.
She had heard a saying that the man who helped a girl put on earrings was the one she would grow old with.
It was a very romantic notion.
"Done."
"Does it look good?" Layla looked up, smiling brightly.
"It looks good. My girl looks good in anything." Samuel lowered his head and kissed her lips.
The slight kiss that was indescribably tender and sweet enchanted the female waiters around them.
Even a soap opera wasn’t as good as this romance. It was beautiful and happy. There was no jealousy in their hearts, only endless envy and blessings.
Samuel raised his glass again. "Here's to my outstanding girl. I’m sure she’ll become one of the top designers in the world."
"It is a bit of an exaggeration to call me one of the top designers in the world, but let's go with that. Dreams are meant to be pursued, since they might come true. I hope what you said will happen." Layla clinked glasses with him and took a big sip of orange juice.
Currently, Layla's love life was going well, and she had made some progress in her career. In terms of competition in the company, she had become more courageous in face of setbacks, rising against the current. She had grown armor and was no longer as weak as before.
Everything was heading in a positive direction.
Layla thought, 'Owen, is this what you wanted to see?
'Are you protecting me from heaven?'
The sound of water in the bathroom stopped. Samuel came out of the bathroom drying his hair. His strong upper body was exposed.
Layla was squatting on the ground, packing a small suitcase.
"Are you going on a Business trip?" Samuel felt reluctant to let her go.
"No, it’s team building trip at the resort in City B. It was originally planned for the weekend, but I just received a message saying we're leaving directly from the company tomorrow afternoon." Layla wasn’t happy about this at all, on the contrary, she felt quite annoyed.
No one would be happy to face a trap.
"Do you have to go?"
Layla looked up at Samuel with a helpless look in her eyes. "I don't want to go either, but if I don't, I'll be seen as antisocial."
"Weren't you already antisocial?"
"Don't be so direct."
"Those women in your company have been bullying you. I've wanted to punish them for a long time." A hint of gloom passed through Samuel's eyes. The punishment he was thinking about wasn't the ordinary kind. It could potentially be fatal.
"Do I look like someone who gets bullied? I can handle it myself. You said you had confidence in me during dinner, leave it to me." Layla made an okay gesture. "If I don't bully them, they can't bully me."
Samuel went over and patted her head. "Don't force yourself to do anything."
"I know. If I can't handle it, I'll call for help." Layla looked up and giggled.
She was crouching on the ground, looking up with her pure and delicate face. She seemed innocent and tender, like a cute little pet, and she looked so adorable that Samuel wanted to integrate Layla into his very being.
His feelings were profound and complete. He loved her completely and wanted them to be together all the time.
Blood rushed through Samuel's body, heating him up.
He reached out his long arm and pulled her into his arms.
Startled, Layla couldn't help but let out a whimper. Samuel's gaze was intense, making her whole body tender.
"You..." Her small hand, hot from grabbing Samuel's shoulder, tightened involuntarily. His muscles were robust and strong, containing endless male power.
"I love you." Samuel's confession was direct, domineering, and deep.
'I love you too,' Layla wanted to shout in a frenzy.
But it seemed like there was a valve in her throat, preventing her from saying those words. She bit her soft lips.
Those lips should be bitten by him. Samuel sealed her lips with a kiss, gently nibbling on her lips, tender and intoxicating.
The two of them fell into the soft bed, as if they were falling into the clouds, his slender fingers intertwined with hers. Layla couldn't help but say, "Samuel..."
It was a long-lost call.
Samuel shivered sensitively all over. How long had it been since she had called him that?
He was ecstatic, his body growing even hotter.
"Layla..." Samuel was overjoyed. "I love you very much..."
Layla blushed as if she had been drinking. Even her neck was red.
"I'm a bit tired today..." Layla's soft voice was filled with shyness and an uncontrollable affection. She couldn't resist him.
"But I won't see you for three days. I'll definitely miss you like crazy." Samuel's throat tightened, emitting a low, restrained voice.
"Layla, I love you..."
As he said those sweet words, Samuel gently kissed her lips with great tenderness.
In a daze, Layla let herself sink into the sweetness.
Samuel was very addictive.
At 3 pm, a bus for twenty people stopped at Brightness Design Company.
Layla had gotten on the bus first, but the other female employees were dragging their feet. It had been 15 minutes and the bus hadn't left yet.
Layla placed her mineral water on the seat, getting off to go the restroom. When she came back, Cassandra had taken her seat, and the mineral water had been thrown into the aisle.
Layla raised her eyebrows, a hint of impatience in her eyes, she slowly and deliberately said, "This seat is mine."
Cassandra was chatting loudly with the woman next to her, pretending not to hear Layla.
"This seat is mine!" Layla raised her voice. Everyone waited to see the show.
"I'm sitting here, so this seat is mine, why do you say it's yours?" Cassandra replied cheekily, her voice even louder than Layla's, provoking her. "Did you write your name on it? Does it respond when you call it? Ridiculous. You might as well say this bus is yours too."
"I put my mineral water here."
"Really? I didn't see it. The bottle was on the floor when I got here. If you want the seat with the mineral water, you should sit on the floor."
A few people chuckled.
Layla frowned. Cassandra was just a stupid troublemaker.
In the past, she would have ignored such a trivial thing, but her patience had limits. If they kept targeting her, she had to fight back, or they would only get worse.
Cassandra looked like a clown seeking attention as she smiled smugly.
"I was just sitting here."
"I didn't see you here. Anyway, when I came up, this seat was empty. Did anyone see her sitting here?"
