Chapter 56 The tables turn

Samuel sneered, his sharp gaze piercing Molly as his stern and icy voice sounded, "Whoever used Layla's computer yesterday, that's the person."

Molly quickly lowered her head, trying to hide her guilt.

"Admit it yourself or should I pull up the surveillance footage?" Samuel coldly snorted. Every word exuded irresistible power and dominance.

Everyone looked at each other, unable to guess who it might be.

"If I have to pull up the surveillance footage, it won't be as simple as just getting fired."

Layla finally recovered from the shock of finding out his identity and instinctively glanced at Molly.

Samuel knew, he definitely knew... Molly panicked, on the verge of tears. How could she have anticipated that Samuel would personally come forward to protect her? Ordinary people wouldn't think of checking the surveillance footage, and only a few had the authority to do so. She had been too careless, and now she regretted it dearly.

Won't admit it, huh?

Samuel pursed his lips. "Mr. Vandella..."

"Yes, it was me." Molly stepped forward, flustered, and clarified, "But I didn't leak any classified information. I merely used her computer to look at the design drawings. I absolutely did not..."

"You didn't leak any confidential information from the company, nor did you contact Mr. Torres?" Samuel raised an eyebrow.

"No! I've been loyal to the Holland Group for so many years. How could I betray their secrets?" Molly said. "I swear, if I ever betray the company, let me get hit by a car when I step outside!"

Upon hearing this solemn oath, those who had suspected her before began to waver. After all, who would curse themselves like that?

"Is that so?" Samuel sneered, a hint of menace hidden in his eyes. "Then, Mr. Torres has accused you falsely?"

As his words fell, Mr. Torres was brought in by two bodyguards, crying and pleading, "Please spare me, I... I won't dare to be involved anymore. It was all Molly's idea. She urged me to do this!"

"Mr. Torres, don't spread rumors about others." Molly's composure was already crumbling at this point, but she relied on her last breath to deny the accusations, "I haven't been in contact with you for five years. When did I urge you?"

"Yesterday afternoon, you called me and said you couldn't stand a person in your department named Layla. You conspired with me to act, to invite her for a meal. In return, I would obtain your company's confidential information and frame her." Mr. Torres spilled all the beans.

"I... I didn't do it! Mr. President, please believe me. I'm a long-time employee. How could I do something so foolish? It must be Layla coordinating with him and framing me. You're so smart, you can't let them manipulate you."

"If you had even an ounce of intelligence, you wouldn't risk your own future playing these stupid tricks. But jealous women are capable of anything!" Samuel said coldly.

He saw through human nature. Jealousy was a devil, and many people had been hurt by it.

Mr. Torres cursed out loudly, "I knew you wouldn't admit it. Thankfully, I recorded it."

Mr. Vandella pressed the recording pen, and Molly's voice came through.

"Are you interested in making a deal?"

Everyone was shocked.

Layla clenched her fingers angrily. Molly was truly ruthless! If Samuel hadn't found the evidence, she would have been framed today and ended up in prison.

One person's talent and position did not represent her character. Molly was, as they said, both wicked and foolish.

Nathan breathed a sigh of relief. He hadn't placed his trust in the wrong person, but he hadn't expected Molly to be this ruthless. He thought she was just arrogant most of the time.

At the same time, he had a trace of doubt. Why would the president help Layla? What was their relationship?

"Oh! My goodness. I didn't expect Molly to do such a thing. She almost made us wrongly accuse Layla. Thank goodness for Mr. Holland's wisdom!"

"That's right. I was wondering why we coincidentally ran into her. Turns out she deliberately took the department's employees to Dream Diner for dinner, to ensure she had a few witnesses. She's so scheming."

"Even if we hate Layla, she shouldn't leak company secrets to frame her. She's truly wicked and foolish."

"If she hadn't manipulated the situation, we wouldn't have suspected Layla."

"Despicable!"

All kinds of curses were hurled at Molly, who was now labeled as a rat, everyone calling for her punishment.

Molly's face turned pale, her legs went weak, and she collapsed to the ground, suddenly wailing loudly, "I'm sorry, I was wrong... I truly have realized my mistake... I was blinded by momentary obsession. I'm not that wicked."

She crawled to Samuel's feet, grabbing onto his pants while crying, "Please, in consideration of the years I've diligently worked for the company, please forgive me. I beg you..."

Samuel walked away coldly, "You shouldn't be begging me for forgiveness."

Upon hearing this, Molly turned her head and crawled towards Layla, "Layla, I was wrong. I shouldn't have framed you. Give me a chance, okay? I won't harm you anymore."

"As long as you let me stay, I... I'll give you all the projects. I've put so much effort into the Holland Group, I don't want to leave..."

Samuel looked at Layla, curious to see if this young girl would have a change of heart.

But Layla's face remained expressionless. She calmly and clearly said, word by word, "Since you've invested so much..."

"So much effort has been put into this. You should have cherished this job and been cautious in your words and actions. But you didn't. Just because you couldn't stand a small intern, you went so far as to betray company secrets."

"Entrapping me is a small matter, but betraying company secrets is an unforgivable offense. If I forgive you today, there will be others who will do the same in the future. Once unfaithful, always untrustworthy. This is a principle and a sign of respect towards all employees of the Holland Group."

"Also, let me advise you, narrow-minded and malicious people won't go far. If you don't change, you won't get far in any other company."

"It's all your fault! I'm going to kill you!" Molly's eyes turned crimson with anger as she lunged towards Layla, intent on choking her. However, before her fingers could touch Layla, the security guards pulled her away.

"Boss, should we call the police?" asked Mr. Vandella.

"No need, just throw her out of the building." Samuel coldly ordered. No other company would dare to take in employees expelled by the Holland Group, leaving Molly with no options. That was the cruelest punishment for her.

"Layla, just you wait! I will not let you get away with this!" Molly's furious roars and curses echoed in the corridor.

"She has the audacity to scold others when she's the one at fault?"

"That's right. At least we're getting rid of the real troublemaker, otherwise, the design department would have been a mess because of her."

"Layla is quite unfortunate, almost being falsely accused just because she's talented."

"Yeah, it would be so unfair if she ended up in jail. Her whole life would be ruined."

Public opinion suddenly reversed, leaning in favor of Layla.
