Chapter 361 Little White Face

Layla was measuring when a man's body pressed up against her from behind, which made her very uncomfortable.

"Lady, need any help?" Jacob asked in what he thought was a seductive voice. He was quite handsome, but Layla found men who relied on women for a living greasy. Even his getting closer made her nauseous.

Layla walked to the other side to check the water and electricity.

"I'm preparing to make VIP rooms here." Jacob followed, eagerly saying. "A total of ten."

"I have a large space here."

"It's several thousand square meters."

"Just the decoration alone will cost several million dollars." Jacob appeared rich and arrogant. Ava was really into him, and her money would eventually be his.

"If I give you this decoration contract, can you get a commission of a few hundred thousand dollars?"

Layla sneered inwardly, 'You would give me the contract? Do you have that ability? Is it your money?'

Jacob was like a shadow, following Layla wherever she went. Every time Layla squatted down, Jacob would stare at her behind.

Layla noticed and impatiently said, "I can handle it myself."

"No, I'm the boss here, and I have to show you around! It's messy here. If you trip or bump into something, I'll feel really sorry."

'Jacob was truly shameless!' Layla cursed in her heart.

"Beauty, you're so beautiful. Working at construction sites every day is so hard, so why not come work at my bar? I'll give you a good job. Accompany guests for drinks, and you can earn several thousand or tens of thousands in one night, more than a designer would make in a month."

"Women don't need to be that strong in the workplace. In the end, you'll get married and let your husband support you."

Layla smiled and replied, "Not every man has the ability to support a wife. Some even need a woman to support them."

A flash of anger crossed Jacob's eyes.

Layla looked down on Jacob.

Jacob's pride was hurt.

"What did Ava Claire say to you?"

Layla chuckled, didn't say anything, and continued with her work.

Jacob still followed Layla like a shadow.

As Layla tried to be cautious of Jacob while measuring, feeling a bit annoyed, she accidentally stepped on a steel bar and slipped forward.

"Be careful." Jacob held her waist.

Layla quickly grabbed Jacob's hand to steady herself, her back covered in cold sweat.

It was too dangerous.

If she fell like that, the baby wouldn't be safe.

Shaken, Layla breathed heavily.

Her delicate face turned pale, especially fragile, and Jacob hurriedly comforted her, "Don't be afraid. I'm here. I've been telling you to be careful. Why didn't you listen? Luckily, I was quick, or you would have been hurt."

With the beauty in his arms, Jacob's thoughts wandered, his hand sliding from Layla's waist to her back.

"Jacob Reed, where are you putting your hand?" a stern voice rang out.

Jacob withdrew his hand as fast as lightning, quickly stepping back and hiding his hand behind him.

"I didn't." He shook his head frantically.

Ava, carrying her Hermes bag, rushed over like a fat cow, her fierce face almost popping her eyeballs out. "Did you just touch her?"

"I didn't." Jacob looked scared, not daring to breathe.

"I saw it."

"The lighting here is so dim. You must have seen it wrong."

"No way! I saw everything clearly." Ava glared at him menacingly, not sparing Layla either, pointing at her nose and accusing, "You two just snuggled up."

"No, I didn't. Baby, definitely you're looking at it wrong. She almost fell just now and I gave her a hand."

"Were you that nice? Did you take advantage of her? Jacob Reed, I know what you're like. How dare you lie to me?" Ava cursed again and glared at Layla, pointing her nose at her. "Were you intentional? Little slut, I've warned you to behave. Are you trying to seduce my man behind my back? Don't push your luck."

Being scolded to her face, Layla also got angry. She didn't want to deal with this kind of person, full of foul language that made Layla's ears sore.

Before she could retort, Jacob playfully went to hug Ava. "Darling, sweetheart, you must have seen it wrong. There's nothing between me and her. If I took advantage of her, my genitals would rot."

"I'm sincere toward you. It's crystal clear. How can you doubt me?"

"I know you're worried about me, but you can't suspect me. I love you so much, and I wouldn't touch other women. I swear."

Ava wasn't a fool. She knew Jacob loved her money actually, and with his long list of misdeeds, his words couldn't be trusted. But women, especially someone like Ava, clear-headed but soft-hearted, couldn't resist Jacob's sweet talk and affectionate gestures, so her tone gradually softened.

"Don't play tricks with me. I know what kind of person you are."

"What kind of person am I? I'm the man who loves you the most."

"You flippant talker."

"It's absolutely true, darling." Jacob endured his disgust, smiling and kissing Ava's face. Feeling sick inside, Jacob had to kiss a fat sow for money.

"Don't be angry."

"Anger causes wrinkles, then you won't be beautiful anymore."

"I'm not as charming as those young sluts."

"They can't compare to you." Jacob struggled to hug Ava's waist, which was too thick for him to wrap around. "I just love mature women like you."

"I'll make sure you have an unforgettable night."

"Then how about four times?" Ava grumbled.

Jacob complained inwardly. Ava was like a sow, even greedier than a sow, wanting to drain him every night, causing him to resort to pills. Once he had enough of Ava's money, he would kick this fat woman to the curb.

Listening to their conversation, Layla almost vomited her dinner, deciding to bring earplugs next time.

The two started kissing.

Feeling nauseated, Layla went into the restroom.

Soon after, Ava walked in with satisfaction, her lipstick smudged, giving her mouth a vivid crimson hue resembling that of a pig.

"Jacob Reed is my man. If you dare to seduce him, I'll kill you!"

"I'm not interested in him," Layla sneered.

"Why pretend to be so noble! Jacob is so handsome. All women like him." Ava truly loved Jacob. She had supported many men, but Jacob was the youngest, and the most handsome. He had good stamina, and, most importantly, he knew how to please her and make her feel like she was in love, which was why Ava kept him and even planned to marry him.

"That man is supported by me. All his money comes from me. I'm the bar's owner. He has no money. Don't think about swindling money from him."

Layla said nothing, took a tissue to wipe her hands, and left.

Ava glared fiercely at Layla's back. 'Little wench, do not assume that your youth and beauty surpass mine. I possess more wealth than you,' she thought.

But when Ava turned to look at herself in the mirror, seeing her sagging face, wrinkles, and obese body, she couldn't help but feel jealous. She would gladly trade all her money for Layla's youthful beauty.

If a woman is beautiful, she can not only earn money but also capture a man's genuine affection.

Unlike Ava, no matter how much money she had, she could only buy men, not true love.
