Chapter 319 Holding the Grandchild

Susan, cornered and defenseless, could only hold her son tightly, shielding him from the onslaught. The blows rained down on her back, each one a searing pain, but her sole focus was protecting her child.

"Over here!" a voice called out, and security rushed in, dispersing the assailants.

"Let us go!" "What's wrong with teaching a lesson to a home-wrecker?" one of the men retorted.

A swift punch from a guard, knocking out his teeth, silenced the room.

"Susan, are you alright?" the guard inquired.

Susan, her concern solely on Oliver, asked, "Are you hurt?"

"I'm fine, Mommy. Are you hurt?" Oliver's tears fell in her distress.

"I'm fine," Susan reassured, masking her pain.

"I'll call a doctor for you, Susan. We'll ensure your safety during this time," the guard offered.

"Thank you," Susan replied.

"It's what Mr. Eilish ordered," the guards acknowledged, retreating as calm returned to the corridor.

In the private hospital, guards stood watch. "Caleb," Mrs. Eilish Sr called out, her face filled with urgency.

As Caleb entered the ward, a vase flew past him.

"Honey, what are you doing? You could have hit our son!" Mrs. Eilish Sr exclaimed.

Mr. Eilish Sr, enraged, bellowed, "I'll teach this ungrateful child a lesson! Look at the disgrace he's brought upon our family."

"It must be a misunderstanding. Caleb wouldn't do such a thing. Right, Caleb? Explain to your father how you couldn't have possibly harmed Grace," Mrs. Eilish Sr pleaded.

"I didn't touch her," Caleb replied indifferently.

"See, dear, I told you..."

"Lawyers are already discussing the divorce,"

Mr. Eilish Sr interrupted. "Divorce?" Mrs. Eilish Sr shrieked. Mr. Eilish Sr, furious, exclaimed, "Are you out of your mind? You've caused such embarrassment, and now you want a divorce? Are those women outside worthy?"

"I love her. After the divorce, I'll marry her, and we already have a three-year-old son," Caleb declared.

"A son? My grandson?" Mrs. Eilish Sr's surprise quickly turned to concern. "Are you sure he's yours? Honey, do we have a grandson?"

Mr. Eilish Sr was initially shocked, then roared, "Those women outside are despicable. Even if she gave birth, I wouldn't acknowledge the child as part of our family."

"Honey, that's not how you should put it. You've always complained that our daughter-in-law couldn't give birth to a grandson. Now we have a three-year-old grandson. When can we meet him?"

"No need to bother," Mr. Eilish Sr snapped. "The Eilish Group's subsidiary is in a critical phase of going public. Your scandal has caused a significant drop in the company's stock price. If you divorce at this juncture, do you want to ruin the company?"

"Son, do you know how serious a divorce is? It involves a myriad of complex interests. Divorce is absolutely out of the question. However, while the marriage cannot be dissolved, we must have a child. We must not let the Eilish family's bloodline wander outside. When will you bring her back?"

"After the divorce, I will officially bring her home," Caleb asserted.

Mr. Eilish Sr's anger subsided slightly upon hearing about the grandson, but it quickly flared up again. He almost jumped up from the hospital bed, "Are you deaf? Didn't you hear what I just said? As long as I'm alive, I won't let that wild woman into our Eilish family. Divorce is out of the question." "You quickly find a way to appease Grace and let her come out to calm this storm and shut up those outsiders. As for the matter of the grandson, I will consider it."

Caleb's expression remained unchanged. "I'm here to inform you formally, not to discuss it with you. Take a good rest. I'm leaving."

"You? "Beast!" "Come back here."

"Honey, calm down, don't get too excited..." Mrs. Eilish Sr quickly poured a cup of tea for Mr. Eilish Sr. "You're still recovering."

"I think that beast wants to drive me to my death," Mr. Eilish Sr pounded his chest.

"Caleb is really something. How can a woman suddenly appear outside, and he still wants to get married? It's ridiculous. But Grace is not good either. Let her give birth to a grandson for us, and there has been no movement. I knew I couldn't count on her." Mrs. Eilish Sr sneered, "I used to worry that our Eilish family would have no descendants, but now we have a three-year-old grandson, both a son and a daughter."

Mr. Eilish Sr was still angry, "The children born to those women outside, who knows how they will turn out."

"With the bloodline of our Eilish family, how bad can it be? And the child is only three years old. Even if he is not well-educated, he can be re-educated, don't you think? The most important thing now is to let Grace come out and clarify, and then bring our grandson back home, and let Grace take care of him in the future. What do you think?"

"These are all your wishful thinking." "What about you? You seem to be against it. You talk more often than I do about wanting a grandson. Just yesterday, you said you couldn't hold your grandson, and you were upset. Look, God has sent you a grandson." Mrs. Eilish Sr was very happy, and there was nothing more important than a grandson.

"A woman's opinion." Mr. Eilish Sr sighed, and after calming down, he glanced at her and said, "Go and find out the truth about that woman. She is also the blood of the Eilish family and cannot fall into the hands of other women. Remember to do a DNA test. If she is really a member of our Eilish family, give her some money and make her disappear."

Mrs. Eilish Sr agreed with this idea and said, "I know, you take a good rest, I will handle it. Rest assured."

After comforting Oliver, Susan entered the adjacent examination room with the nurse. The bodyguards looked at her with difficulty, "Susan, we're sorry we were late today. If Mr. Eilish asks later, please..."

"Don't worry, I won't make it difficult for you."

"Thank you, Susan." The bodyguards breathed a sigh of relief.

The nurse asked Susan to lie on the bed and took off her shirt. Susan's snow-white back was covered with bruises, a testament to the severity of the beating.

The nurse was taken aback, "Those people were really ruthless. They were beating you to death."

Susan closed her eyes and furrowed her brow, remaining silent. "People nowadays are too cruel. What's their business? They act as if they are righteous, which is ridiculous."

The nurse shook her head. "Susan, I'm going to apply the medicine now. It will be painful, so bear with it."

"Mm." The cool ointment was applied to Susan's back, causing a sharp pain. She furrowed her brow even more tightly, biting her lip to endure the pain.

After a while, she felt the nurse's movements pause, followed by a man's apologetic voice, "I'm sorry for hurting you."
