Chapter 626: Let Me Take Care of You

"Who is it? Duh, it's my boyfriend," Juniper shot back.

"The one you hooked up with last night?" Douglas was fuming.

"Yep, that's the one!"

"Juniper, you have no shame!"

Juniper's face twisted in anger, "Who you calling shameless? The real shameless one here is you, you cheating jerk."

"If you hadn't turned me down for three years, I wouldn't have... I'm a guy, I got needs."

"Only animals in heat talk like that," she snapped. She used to be not just nearsighted but totally blind; otherwise, she would've seen through this jerk's act ages ago.

"An animal in heat? Then you're a fake prude," Douglas sneered. "When you were with me, you said your first time should be special, saved for marriage, never gave it to me. But then you gave it to some random dude. Were you just messing with me?"

"Yeah, I was messing with you. So what? Isn't Saffron messing with you too? You really think she was a virgin? You treat her like gold? She hooked up with guys in high school. The baby in her belly might not even be yours. You're just playing daddy for someone else!"

"You— Juniper, I must've been blind before, thinking you were just a bit spoiled. I put up with you and treated you so well, but I didn't expect you to be a slut who'd sleep with anyone..."

"Say that again?" Juniper warned.

"I'll say it again, you are a slut—" Before he could finish, Douglas got a solid slap across the face, "You dare hit me?"

"Yeah, I hit you. Got a problem with that?"

"You—" Douglas was livid. In his rage, he forgot to keep his cool. He raised his hand to slap back, but it got stopped mid-air.

"Hey babe," Juniper's eyes lit up. Anthony showed up just in time.

Juniper quickly ran behind him, "Babe, he was bullying me. Teach him a lesson."

"Let go!" Douglas, being a weakling, was panting in pain, "You dare lay a hand on me? Do you know who I am? I'm the third son of the Phillips family, the one with the hotel chain."

"Never heard of it," Anthony said coolly.

The only names that mattered to him were the top financial big shots in the city. He'd never heard of second or third-rate families like this, and it was always these types who were the most arrogant.

"You ignorant fool!" Douglas cried out in more pain, "If you don't let go, I'll have someone beat you to death, you gigolo."

"Gigolo?" Anthony raised an eyebrow.

"Aren't you? You're the 'escort' Juniper picked up at a bar, right? Pretending to be some big-shot CEO. Did she buy you that suit? Is she paying you to act? You really think she's something special? I got tired of her long ago... She can't get married, so she..."

Douglas was punched to the ground, "You dare hit me?"

"Nice punch," Juniper clapped, "Jerks like him deserve it. I'm telling you, you can't mess with my man. From now on, walk the other way when you see him, or you'll get beaten every time!"

"I'm telling you, you don't want to cross my boyfriend. From now on, take a detour when you see him, or you'll get beaten up every time!"

"Babe, let's go." Juniper proudly took Anthony's arm. "I didn't expect you to look so refined but punch so hard. Amazing! Awesome! I like you even more now."

As soon as they left the hotel, Anthony coldly pulled his hand away.

"What are you doing?" Juniper asked.

"Goodbye," Anthony said as he was about to get in the car.

"I'm going home with you."

Anthony frowned, "Do you have any..."

"You mean shame? Nah, I ditched that a long time ago. You helped me out, so I'll 'reward' you tonight," Juniper grinned, a mix of mischief and charm.

"I don't take women home."

"Really? You're so straight-laced. I like you even more. I got nowhere to crash tonight, so just let me stay."

"No."

"Didn't you see that jerk back there? He looked like he wanted to kill me. If you let me go back alone and he comes after me, you'll feel guilty forever if something happens."

"I'll send a car for you."

"Nope. I live alone, and he knows where I stay. He'll definitely show up to cause trouble. I'm just a poor girl. Someone as kind as you wouldn't want to see me in trouble, right?"

Anthony hesitated for a moment.

"Thanks, babe, you're the best. Love you." Juniper quickly hopped into the car.

Anthony took a deep breath. How did he get tangled up with such a handful?

The driver opened the car door, and Anthony got in from the other side.

"This Rolls-Royce is fancy, huh? You're richer than I thought. Can you spill a bit about your background?... Nah, don't tell me. It wouldn't be fun if you did. I'll figure it out myself," Juniper said.

Anthony ignored her and pulled out his phone.

"What are you busy with, staring at your phone? Flirting with girls?" Juniper leaned over and saw Anthony replying to emails.

"Sorry for accusing you. Go ahead, continue. I'll be quiet." Juniper said with a cheeky smile, pulling out her own phone to play with.

A quarter of an hour later, they arrived at Anthony's place in the city's swanky district. It was a two-story duplex, about 2,000 square feet, simply decorated.

"Wow, this place is nice, but it must feel lonely living alone in such a big house. Now that I'm here, you won't be lonely anymore," Juniper ran upstairs, "Is this the master bedroom? Then I'll crash in the guest room next door. Or we can share if you want."

Anthony frowned even more. He seriously wondered, 'Does she realize how I might take some of her actions?'

"Don't worry, just pretend I'm not here. I won't mess up your life. I'll go take a bath first." Juniper added.

The bathroom had a large bathtub with bath salts. Juniper happily took a bath, feeling like she washed away all the bad vibes. She felt incredibly relaxed.

After soaking for more than half an hour, she came out in a bathrobe. Anthony was sitting in the living room working on his computer.

He looked very charming when he was serious.

Juniper watched him for a while, then went downstairs, "It's already eleven o'clock. Why are you still working? Are you a workaholic? What do you do? Financial investment? Real estate? Stocks?"

Anthony focused on the screen, ignoring her.

Juniper leaned closer, seeing a string of astronomical numbers. As a top finance student, she could understand them, even though they might be convoluted for the laymen, "So, you play the stock market. Be careful—high investment means high risk. If you lose everything... It doesn't matter, I'll support you."

It was the first time Anthony heard a woman say she would support him. Young as she was, she had quite the attitude.

Seeing his serious look, Juniper suddenly had a mischievous thought. She deliberately leaned closer, breathing on his face. Her eyes were sparkling, full of allure.
