Chapter 863 The Evidence is Conclusive

That night, Aaron wore a smile as he leisurely sipped his tea.

Saffron couldn't help but roll her eyes internally at his smug, confident grin.

'Dad, are you really that confident in Juniper? Well, I'm going to make sure you're disappointed.'

'Let's see if your pride pays off!'

Finally, after eight o'clock, Juniper returned. She looked a bit tired and seemed to be in low spirits.

"How did it go? Did you secure the project?" Aaron asked, already feeling a hundred percent sure.

Juniper lowered her gaze, said nothing, and sighed.

Elara and Saffron exchanged glances; it was obvious Juniper had failed.

Elara had always worried that Saffron's schemes against Juniper would backfire on her, but it seemed Saffron was indeed clever!

"Why aren't you saying anything? Did you fail?"

"Of course she did. She's usually so proud; if she had succeeded, she'd be bragging by now, not staying silent."

"Juniper, aren't you supposed to be amazing? Didn't Kieran always praise you? What, did you bribe him to blindly compliment you? Or were you only impressive because he was backing you up, and now that you're on your own, your true colors are showing?"

"Enough," Aaron frowned, still gently comforting Juniper, "It's okay. When I first took over the company, I made plenty of mistakes too. It's normal. You've done very well; you're still my pride."

"Dad, that's so unfair. When I failed, you called me useless, but you're so lenient with her."

"Your failure wasn't just a failure; it was reckless and caused trouble for the company."

"Isn't it the same? Anyway, if she didn't secure the project, she's useless," Saffron snapped, "You had so much faith in her, but she's just not capable."

Hearing this, Juniper, who had been silent, suddenly smiled sweetly, her eyes lifting lazily as she retorted, "Who said I'm not capable? Who said I didn't secure the project?"

Saffron was shocked. She secured it?

Impossible! She must be faking it.

"You succeeded?" Aaron's eyes lit up with joy.

Juniper slowly took out the contract, "Signed."

"That's fantastic! My daughter is amazing!" Aaron exclaimed, reaching for the contract, but Saffron snatched it away, "No way, this is fake. You had someone forge it. Dad, don't believe her."

"Yours was an illegal deal; mine is a legitimately signed contract. Are you saying mine is fake?"

"You couldn't have secured it!" Saffron shouted angrily.

"And why are you so sure I couldn't?"

"Because—"

"Saffron!" Elara screamed, cutting her off. This child was too easily provoked and almost spilled the beans.

Juniper glanced at Elara with a half-smile, "Are you so sure because you stole my design and gave it to the rival company?"

"I didn't, what are you talking about..." But Saffron's guilty eyes betrayed her, and she swallowed hard.

"Are you sure?"

"Juniper, stop making baseless accusations. Saffron has no idea what's going on. What stolen design? What rival company? I don't understand any of this."

"Don't understand? Saffron copied my design and gave it to the rival company. At today's bidding meeting, the rival company used my design to get ahead. But I knew you would do this, so I used a different, superior design and secured the project easily."

"You..." Saffron was furious, biting her lip. This bitch had so many tricks up her sleeve and had set her up again.

"Maybe someone from your design department sold it to the rival. Why blame Saffron?"

"Because of this surveillance footage, which clearly shows Saffron sneaking into my room while I was showering and copying the design," Juniper handed her phone to Aaron, showing the clear evidence.

Saffron's face turned pale, and she jumped up in anger, "You bitch, you installed surveillance at home! I..."

Before Saffron could finish, Aaron slapped her in anger, "Saffron, I thought you were just stupid, but you're both stupid and malicious to do something like this!"

"Dad..."

"Honey, why did you hit Saffron!" Elara quickly shielded Saffron.

"I wish I could beat her to death!" Aaron trembled with rage, "How many things have you done behind my back? Tell me! So young yet so vicious, I don't have a daughter like you!"

"Dad..."

"Why are you only blaming Saffron? Isn't Juniper also scheming? Otherwise, why would she install surveillance in her room? She clearly set a trap for Saffron to fall into."

Even in this situation, they could turn the tables. Juniper shook her head in amusement.

"Even so, if Saffron hadn't stolen the design, she wouldn't have been caught. It's her own fault. Luckily, Juniper was prepared, or it would have been hard to explain."

"Elara, this is the daughter you raised, repeatedly making mistakes and getting worse each time."

With the evidence clear, Elara couldn't deny it and could only say weakly, "Saffron is young and doesn't understand..."

"Juniper is only a year older, yet she's so much better. It's all because of your upbringing."

"What do you mean? Are you saying her mother was better at raising her than I am?" Elara was furious.

"You just don't know how to raise a daughter."

"That's better than being motherless!" Saffron cursed.

Juniper's eyes flashed with anger, "Saffron, one slap wasn't enough? Want another?"

"I'm not wrong, you're motherless..."

Juniper moved to teach Saffron a lesson, but Elara blocked her, and in the struggle, Elara was pushed to the ground, and Saffron got slapped again.

"You hit me? Dad..." Saffron covered her face, enraged.

"Juniper was right to hit you. You deserved it for your disrespect!"

"You're just biased towards her. If you hadn't favored her and given the Cooper Group to her, I wouldn't be like this..." Saffron cried out in grievance, "You're biased, you're unfair to me!"

"She's your daughter too, how can you treat me like this?"

"You made me this way, it's all your fault, how can you blame me."

"Stop talking," Elara tried to calm Saffron, fearing she'd anger Aaron further, but Saffron continued to shout like a madwoman, "Am I wrong? He's biased, he is!"

"You only have Juniper as a daughter, she's your pride, and I'm just trash, you don't care about me at all."

Aaron was heartbroken. This was the daughter he had spoiled, and she hated him so much.

"Fine, since you say that, I'll consider you no longer my daughter. Tomorrow, I'll send you abroad!"
