Chapter 902 Why Chickened Out?

"You've been speaking well of her for so long, I can't even say anything bad about her now," Ruben said with a helpless smile.

"It's not just me saying she's good; the girl is genuinely good. It's not just me; everyone praises her, which means she really is good." Feeling Ruben had softened, Brenda finally breathed a sigh of relief.

"Yes, yes, you're right."

"Dad, Mom, still up?" Anthony greeted as he passed by the door.

"Yes, your dad and I were just praising Juniper," Brenda said with a smile.

"I wasn't praising her," Ruben denied. "You've had some drinks, go rest in your room."

"Good night."

Anthony walked to the door.

"Wait," Ruben called out, hesitating for a few seconds before speaking, "Arrange a meeting with Juniper's parents sometime."

Anthony's face lit up, "Dad, you've finally accepted Juniper!"

Anthony was thrilled.

"Your dad accepted her a long time ago, he just hasn't admitted it," Brenda said.

Ruben felt a bit embarrassed being exposed so directly.

"Thanks, Dad."

"No need to thank me. This is your relationship, and even if I tried to stop it, you wouldn't listen. So, I might as well let you be."

Anthony quickly said, "It means a lot to us. Juniper and I really want your approval and blessing; it's very important to us."

"Juniper will be a great daughter-in-law, I promise you won't be disappointed," Anthony assured.

Ruben, in his most amiable moment in days, relaxed his face, "I know. If I wasn't sure, I wouldn't agree to you being together. I've seen over these days that she's a good girl."

"Yes."

Ruben smiled warmly, "Alright, go back to your room and arrange a time with her parents."

"Okay."

Anthony returned to his room and eagerly called Juniper.

"Missing me already?" Juniper teased softly.

"My dad agreed to us being together and wants to meet your parents."

"Really? That's so sudden."

On the other end, Juniper was overjoyed and jumped up excitedly.

"Your relatives really helped us out!"

"Yeah, my dad is actually very concerned about appearances. They all praised you today, so he must be happy."

"Will he regret it tomorrow when he sobers up? He did have some drinks today."

"No, I know my dad. He never makes decisions lightly, and once he does, he doesn't change his mind. I told you, his heart had already accepted it; today was just the right moment. Are you home? I really want to see you right now!" Anthony was excited.

"No, you had some drinks, you should rest. Besides, it's not appropriate to rush over right after he agreed."

"Let's meet tomorrow to discuss our parents meeting?"

"Well... it might not be that soon," Juniper bit her lip. "You know our family's situation. My dad isn't in the mood, and he's also dealing with Elara and her daughter. My dad getting divorced now, will it affect your dad? Will he change his mind because of this?"

"No, I'll tell him in advance," Anthony said. "It's not your fault; he won't blame you unfairly. Don't worry."

"Okay. I'll handle things at home first and then confirm the time with you."

"Alright. I won't be able to sleep from happiness tonight."

Juniper also smiled broadly, feeling the same but still advised him, "Since it's settled, don't overthink it. Get some sleep."

"Okay, you too. Good night, sweet dreams, dream of me."

"Okay. Good night, love you."

As soon as Juniper hung up, Saffron barged in with her wheelchair.

She had forgotten to lock the door earlier.

But this behavior of barging in without knocking made Juniper very annoyed.

"Can't you knock? Are your hands broken?" Juniper frowned.

Saffron, reminded of her broken leg, felt very sensitive and hurt.

She thought bitterly, 'Why is Juniper still perfectly fine after everything? She should have lost her limbs and become a cripple!'

"This is my house; I don't have to knock," Saffron said rudely. "Did you tell Dad to kick us out?"

"Don't you know why you're being kicked out?" Juniper said coldly.

Seeing Saffron reminded her of how her dad had been betrayed and manipulated for so many years.

No wonder their personalities were so different; they weren't even related by blood!

"Of course, I know. It's all your fault. Juniper, you're so cruel. First, you killed my child, then you broke my leg, and now you're kicking me out of The Cooper Villa. You evil woman, you should be thrown into the wilderness to be torn apart by wild dogs!"

"You miscarried because you were carrying a daughter and fell down the stairs yourself. You broke your leg by running away from home. Don't blame me. As for being kicked out of The Cooper Villa, what does that have to do with me? You should ask your mom."

Saffron frowned. She also suspected that Elara had committed some unforgivable crime, which led to her dad's ruthless decision, but when she asked Elara, Elara just cried and wouldn't say anything.

She had been trying very hard to please Aaron these days, but Aaron was avoiding her and treating her strangely, completely different from before.

She was starting to doubt if she was even Aaron's biological daughter; otherwise, why would he treat his own daughter like this?

"It must be you constantly badmouthing me to Dad, that's why his attitude towards me has changed so much."

"Think what you want, I don't care," Juniper said, tired of arguing. "I'm going to sleep, get out of my room!"

"I..." Saffron grabbed a vase, ready to smash it.

A vase worth millions of dollars, Juniper immediately stopped her. She wouldn't allow Saffron to cause trouble here!

"If you cause trouble here, how will you explain it when Dad comes? Understand your situation. If you make a scene, aren't you afraid Dad will throw you out immediately?"

"Dad wouldn't be that cruel to me," Saffron said, but her hand hesitated, gripping the vase tightly but not smashing it.

"Don't believe me? Try it, smash it, what are you afraid of?" Juniper taunted her with a mocking smile.

Saffron didn't dare; she should keep a low profile.

"If you don't get out of my room, I'll call Dad."

"Fine, you win. Don't think you're already the sole heir of the Cooper family. Who stays and who goes is still uncertain. Just wait and see!"

Saffron threatened but left in a very humble and powerless manner.

The door was slammed shut.
