Chapter 883 Brynn's Difficulties

In the evening, Juniper returned home. "Dad, why are you still up so late?"

"Yeah," Aaron replied, looking troubled.

"What's wrong? Are you feeling unwell?"

"No," Aaron said, feeling a bit guilty as he faced her. He stammered, "They've come back."

This didn't surprise Juniper.

Although Aaron hated Elara, he had watched Saffron grow up. Even without a blood relationship, there was a bond of upbringing that couldn't be easily severed.

Worried she might be upset, Aaron quickly added, "They came back on their own. I couldn't stop them. Don't worry, I'll definitely send them to Libertonia next week."

"Alright, the sooner the better. The longer it drags on, the more troublesome it will be."

"I know. You said that even though you had a big fight before, at least it was a complete family. How did it fall apart so quickly? I think it's all my fault. I did a lot of things to hurt Elara when I was young. Maybe this is her way of getting back at me."

Aaron smiled bitterly. "I'm not a good person either."

"Don't think about those things now," Juniper comforted him. "Just stick to the original plan."

"Okay. When I see them, I think of Elara's betrayal. I can't face them. I have to send them away. That's already the best I can do."

At the Eilish Villa.

After the two families' gathering dinner, Ruben was in a rare good mood and had a bit to drink.

"It's been a long time since I had a drink with old friends. Feels good," Ruben said, his face slightly flushed and in high spirits.

"Yeah, I haven't seen you smile in a long time."

"With all the troublesome things going on lately, how could I smile?"

"Alright, let's not talk about those things," Brenda quickly changed the subject. "The Elise siblings are well-educated. The son is steady, and the daughter is lively and cheerful. Brynn is really adorable."

"I like Brynn too," Ruben paused and then said meaningfully, "If only she and Anthony..."

Brenda quickly said, "Honey, you're overthinking it."

"I'm not overthinking it. It's obvious Brynn likes our Anthony."

Brenda had noticed it too. Brynn always looked at Anthony with bright eyes, unable to hide her admiration. But she had seen it many times; Anthony was very popular with girls.

Brenda said, "That's just a young girl's admiration, not necessarily love. They haven't seen each other for years and have no feelings for each other. Besides, Anthony is already set on Juniper, so don't worry about it."

"I don't know much about her, but I know the Elise family and Brynn very well."

"Is it you choosing a girlfriend or Anthony?" Brenda shook her head. "The most important thing is that Anthony likes her. Otherwise, no matter how satisfied you are, it won't matter."

"It's all about free love. I think arranged marriages by parents are also good."

"If that's the case, we wouldn't be together," Brenda leaned into Ruben's arms, soft like a cat. "Choosing for yourself is the best."

"But if the parents are satisfied, wouldn't the marriage be happier?"

"I'm quite satisfied with Juniper."

"But I don't think so, especially since she just had a miscarriage."

"So what if she had a miscarriage? She's the victim. You can't hold that against her. That's too selfish." Brenda's expression turned serious.

"I know, but I just have a knot in my heart. It doesn't feel right."

"Don't interfere with Anthony's marriage. I saw that you were okay with it before. You can't change your mind just because Brynn suddenly appeared. You taught Anthony to be a responsible man, so he should be responsible to Juniper, from start to finish."

"You always have a way with words. I can't argue with you."

"That's because what I say makes sense. Anyway, don't interfere with Brynn's matter. Let it be."

The next morning.

Brynn got into the car, looking listless.

She was downcast.

Eldon ruffled her hair. "Why are you so low-spirited today?"

"I just had a breakup. How can I be in good spirits?" Brynn said irritably. "I had a chance, but you didn't help me."

She thought about it and decided not to hire a private detective.

Eldon sighed and handed her a document.

"What's this?"

"Didn't you want to know who Anthony's girlfriend is?"

"You investigated?" Brynn was pleasantly surprised. "Eldon, you're the best. Love you."

"I want to see who my rival in love is. Is she better than me?"

Brynn opened it and exclaimed, "This woman?"

"Isn't she the one from yesterday..."

"Yes, she's the daughter of the Cooper Group, named Juniper. She's been dating Anthony for a while."

"Damn! It's her!"

Brynn had thought that if it was a terrible girl, she would be angry because the girl wouldn't measure up to her.

But Juniper was just as beautiful as she was, which made her even more uncomfortable.

"Damn it, she must have used her looks to charm Anthony. I didn't expect Anthony to be so shallow, only looking at appearances."

"It's not just about looks. Juniper is very capable. She graduated from a prestigious university abroad with a degree in finance and has worked in big companies."

"So she's better than me?" Brynn said sourly. She didn't want to admit that in this aspect, she was indeed not as good as Juniper.

She had never suffered and didn't work hard because she didn't need to support herself.

Juniper was also a socialite, but she was so independent.

Men liked independent women, and it was understandable that Anthony liked a strong woman.

Seeing her dejected face, Eldon quickly comforted her, "You're great too. You're just different people."

"But I still rely on my family. Even my job was forced on me by my dad. Besides playing the piano, I have no other advantages."

"Your piano skills are already in the top ten globally. Juniper can't compare to you."

"But I can't support myself." Brynn said gloomily. "Maybe she's also much smarter than me. No, I mean more scheming."

"You don't need to compete with another woman for a man. You deserve better."

"Stop comforting me. She seems to be better than me. But no matter how good she is, she needs me now. I have to give her a hard time."

Brynn made up her mind and spent the next three days at work constantly giving Juniper trouble, making things difficult for her.

But it seemed she didn't gain any advantage.

Juniper appeared polite, but sometimes she would make Brynn yield, which made Brynn even more frustrated.

In the afternoon at the mall, Brynn shopped around, making Juniper follow her like a servant.

"Ms. Elise, I need to go back to the office for a meeting. You should have the driver come to pick up your things," Juniper said.

"Hey, get it straight. You're the one asking me to sign the contract, so you have to let me boss you around."

"Even though I'm the party B, I'm not begging you. Our company has many projects. We don't necessarily need yours," Juniper said calmly.

"I don't care about party A or party B. You have to make me happy. If I'm happy, I might just give you the project."
