Chapter 742 A New Romance

Juniper wasn't thinking about anything. After sorting out the document, she went to get her car and head back to the office.

But unfortunately, just as she started the car, it got scraped by a Jeep.

Juniper got out to check and saw a large patch of white paint had come off, which made her heart ache. Even worse, the owner of the Jeep was trying to get away.

Juniper immediately stopped the person and called him out of the car, "Let's talk about compensation."

"Compensation for what?" The man was a strong, muscular guy with a very arrogant attitude.

"You damaged my car. Isn't compensation the right thing to do?"

"Just go through your insurance."

She could have gone through insurance, but with his attitude, why should she?

"I'm not going through insurance. You hit my car, so you compensate me."

Seeing her firm stance, the man decided to deny it altogether, "Who hit your car? Don't make false accusations."

"It was you. The surveillance cameras caught it."

But looking around, there were no cameras in sight.

The man took advantage of this and refused to admit it.

"I saw you hit this lady's car." A tall, slim, well-dressed young man with a refined demeanor walked over.

"This has nothing to do with you."

"Since I saw it, I will testify for her."

"You two know each other, don't you? You're giving false testimony."

"I didn't know this lady beforehand. I just can't stand your behavior. I've already called the police. Let's wait for them to handle it."

Hearing that the police were involved, the man immediately backed down, "Fine, fine, I'll take the blame. I'll contact my insurance company."

"Thank you," Juniper said, expressing gratitude to the man who had helped her.

"You're welcome. My name is Brice Darden."

"Hi, I'm Juniper."

"Juniper, that's a lovely name. How about we exchange contact information? If you need me to testify later, I'd be happy to."

"Sure."

"I'm the marketing director at KD Company. I saw you coming out of KD Company earlier. Are you a colleague?"

"No, I was there for a project meeting. I hope it goes well."

"I hope so too. Good luck."

"Thank you." Juniper had a good first impression of him. She had a soft spot for refined men.

It seemed like this was the first time in months she felt anything. No matter how handsome others were, she felt nothing.

Was it because she had finally let go of Anthony?

This was a good sign.

Juniper was happy. Maybe she could finally move on.

Not far away, Anthony watched silently as she exchanged contact information with another man.

She was always so popular, no matter where she was, and he wasn't her only option.

No, he wasn't even an option for her now.

With a bitter smile, he thought maybe he shouldn't "harm" her anymore and should let her go.

He turned and went back to KD Company.

Around seven, Juniper picked up some takeout and went home, changed into a comfortable T-shirt, and tied up her hair.

She sat on the couch with her takeout.

Her phone vibrated.

Brice sent her a message with a photo of a salad with chicken breast he made.

Juniper replied: [Looks delicious.]

Brice: [I'll make it for you sometime.]

This message had a hint of something more.

But it was still within normal bounds.

If it were someone else, they would have immediately offered to bring it over.

She had a similar experience in college. The guy made it and brought it to her dorm, shouting her name until she came down, even though she had a boyfriend at the time. It was very awkward.

Juniper didn't like overly attentive men. The right amount of distance made her feel comfortable.

Especially now, with her busy work schedule, she needed her personal space.

She replied with an OK and sent him a photo of her takeout.

She didn't think much of it, just sharing a bit of her life.

She put her phone aside and continued eating.

She didn't expect to see Brice again so soon, just the next day after delivering some documents to KD Company.

While walking and texting, a hand tapped her left shoulder from behind.

Juniper turned around, and the person playfully appeared from the right, "Hey, what a coincidence."

A handsome mixed-race face.

"It's you." Juniper was happy to see Brice and put away her phone.

"You've been coming to KD Company a lot lately. Looks like you're close to sealing the deal."

"Not yet, still trying. The competition is tough. Just doing my best."

"You can do it," Brice said confidently.

"I didn't get to treat you to my salad yesterday. How about dinner tonight? There's a top-rated restaurant nearby. Want to try it?"

"You helped me out last time. Let me treat you."

"I don't let ladies pay. Let's go."

At the restaurant.

Brice suddenly teased, "I can feel the envious looks from the other guys."

She was so beautiful, her face stood out even more in a foreign setting.

Juniper smiled, "I can feel the envy from the ladies too."

"No, no, you got it wrong. It's my honor to have such a beautiful lady join me for dinner."

Juniper didn't find Brice's words cheesy at all, maybe because she had a good impression of him and found him humorous and easy to get along with.

"Wine?"

"I can have a little." Juniper nodded.

"Yeah, drink more if you like. I won't take advantage of you, don't worry."

Juniper smiled, sipping her wine, "If I thought you would, I wouldn't be sitting here with you."

"Thank you for your trust."

They clinked glasses, the sound of the wine glasses crisp and clear.

After a few drinks, she looked even more charming.

Brice had many beautiful women around him, but they were either strong-willed career women or pretentious rich girls.

Rarely did he meet someone like her, beautiful, capable, and full of charm. She was like a beautiful rose.

He was moved.

To be precise, it was love at first sight.

Yesterday's little accident gave him a chance, proving they were destined to meet.

But he wasn't in a hurry to pursue her. He wasn't someone who only cared about looks; inner qualities mattered too.

But his affection for her was growing, and he could start by being friends.

Not far from them, a pair of eyes were fixed on them, the gaze deep.

'She handed the documents to the secretary and left. Was she rushing to meet that man?'

He even had the secretary inform her to hand the documents to him personally in the future. It seemed unnecessary now.

She was doing well, laughing and chatting with that man. She must have moved on completely. Was he the only one still trapped in the past?

"Isn't that Brice? So he has a girlfriend now," said Joey, Anthony's assistant at KD Company.

"You know him?" Anthony asked, feeling displeased.
