Chapter 433 Go to the Hospital

A series of low growls left her speechless.

Samuel rarely lost control of his emotions.

Layla was genuinely terrified by Samuel's crazed demeanor.

In his current state, he was in no shape to drive; it was too dangerous.

Layla's heart was pounding.

"Are we really going to argue over something so trivial after all this time together?"

"You trust me, I know you do," she tried to calm Samuel down.

"Samuel, can you please pull over so we can talk?"

"You can't drive right now."

A large truck was coming straight at them.

Samuel made a sharp turn, narrowly avoiding it, but the car was still speeding, nearly scaring Layla to death.

"Watch out!" Layla screamed, "Please, just stop the car!"

"This is too dangerous!"

The scenery outside the windows was a blur as they sped past.

"Samuel."

"Slow down, we're going to crash."

"You're scaring me."

"Stop the car!"

"Stop!" Layla was nearly hysterical. She didn't want to die in the car!

"Stop the car!" Layla shouted.

With a sudden, sharp brake, Layla was thrown forward, almost flying out of the car.

Layla's ears rang, vision darkened, dizzy with a pounding heart.

It was terrifying. They had narrowly avoided a fatal accident.

Still shaken, Layla managed to regain some composure and angrily punched Samuel beside her. "Are you crazy? Driving so fast; do you want to get us killed?"

"How could you drive like that!"

"What if something happened to the baby?"

"Did you even think about the child?" Samuel, still emotional, retorted, "Then we'll die together."

Layla was shocked by Samuel's insane words.

Samuel didn't seem like the kind of person who would say such things. He was completely irrational.

"Do you even know what you're saying? I want to live, and I want you and the baby to live too." Layla emphasized. "Is a small quarrel really worth all this? It's terrifying."

"A small quarrel ? That's what you think. You can't understand how I feel." Samuel sneered. "That day, I saw you at the company entrance, tending to him. Today, he's with you. Can't you ever be without a man around? Can't you just behave?"

"That's never what I wanted." Layla argued. "I've made it very clear to him. I even quit my job. Why can't you have a little more faith in me?"

"If you can't handle it yourself, you have no right to demand or blame me for not trusting you," Samuel shouted, "I've given you enough freedom."

"No." Layla suddenly felt disheartened, shaking her head with a bitter smile. "I thought you trusted me, but you really don't." She smiled bitterly. "If you want to blame someone, blame me, but don't hurt others."

"You're still caring about him?" Samuel couldn't bear it and grabbed Layla's wrist. "You're still worried about his safety?"

Layla said, "Of course I am, because you could kill him with just one word."

"I want him dead. Even if he doesn't die, I'll make helive hell!" Samuel's cold gaze and cruel words struck deep fear into Layla's heart.

Layla said, "I have nothing to do with him. Please don't hurt him."

"He doesn't behave, so it's not my fault if I send him to hell," Samuel said coldly.

"If you do that, I will never forgive you," Layla shot back.

"Is he that important to you?" Samuel asked.

"It's not about his importance. I can't let people around me get hurt because of me. You can't kill every man around me or control who I interact with," Layla explained.

Samuel laughed bitterly. "So he's not the last one? You still want to get tangled up with other men? Seems you really enjoy it."

"I can't bear these hurtful words right now," Layla said, trying to remain calm, knowing anger can lead to harsh words. She refused to let these cutting remarks harm her or their bond.

"Please let Brian go, and we can talk calmly, okay?" Layla's voice was soft and pleading.

Samuel immediately refused, "I'll handle it. You don't need to worry."

"What are you going to do? Are you going to kill him?" Layla grabbed Samuel's arm in panic.

"Don't worry; killing him would be too easy," Samuel said.

"No!" Layla was terrified and tried to stop him. "You're angry right now; you can't control yourself."

"I know exactly what I'm doing!" Samuel's voice was unusually clear. "I should have done this the last time. It was because of you that I showed him mercy, but he keeps pushing his luck. He has only himself to blame."

Samuel had already restrained himself and compromised countless times for her, becoming someone he didn't recognize. However, it turned out like this. From the beginning, he should have been ruthless.

Since kindness didn't get him what he wanted, he would be utterly heartless.

"Please, let's talk this out." Layla was on the verge of tears. "He's already in your hands. Don't hurt him. Calm down and then decide, okay? I'm just asking you to spare him for now."

"No," Samuel refused flatly.

Layla was speechless and choked up.

She understood love's selfish, possessive nature, the desire to cling tightly. She did her utmost to comprehend Samuel, to soothe him in his anger. However, when their issues endangered others, it crossed a line she couldn't tolerate.

"If I hadn't spared him, he'd be dead a thousand times over by now," Samuel said viciously, his tone cruel. "He deserves to die."

"Just because he interacted with me, he deserves to die? Fine, then kill him. Go ahead and kill every man in the world. Do whatever you want. Let me out of the car," Layla said.

Samuel continued to drive fast.

"Let me out of the car; do you hear me?" Layla shouted. "I don't want to be with you. Let me out of the car now!"

"Samuel Holland!" she screamed his name.

Samuel still drove at high speed.

Every second felt like a roller coaster ride for Layla; her heart suspended in fear of crashing and being shattered to pieces. Another sharp turn; they were just a centimeter away from hitting the car beside them.

The fear gripped Layla's heart, and a wave of nausea almost made her vomit.

In the chaos, a sharp pain hit her, making her face contort. She clutched her aching abdomen and, with her last bit of strength, hoarsely pleaded, "Go... go to the hospital."
