Chapter 807 Summoning the Courage to Tell Him

"Hey, what's your problem? What? Got dumped by Brice and now you want to cling to Mr. Eilish? You're shameless," Joey insulted her.

She got dumped by Brice? Anthony was stunned.

No, he saw Brice proposing to her, they were hugging, and everyone around was congratulating them.

The glimmer of hope in his heart was extinguished, replaced by endless disappointment.

They shouldn't have any more entanglements.

Anthony was about to refuse, but when he saw her eyes, the words on his lips changed for some reason, "Sit down."

"Mr. Eilish!" Joey was anxious. How could Anthony give Juniper a chance to get close to him?

"Thank you." Juniper sat down confidently and even glanced at Joey smugly, making Joey even angrier. 'What is she so smug about, that bitch.'

"Joey, I have something to discuss with Mr. Eilish. Could you please go to another table? It's on me."

"What can't I hear? Aren't you discussing business?" Joey rolled her eyes.

She must be planning to say something shameless to seduce Anthony, which was why she didn't want him to hear.

"There are business secrets too."

"I'm Mr. Eilish's assistant, his most trusted aide." Joey couldn't stand her making excuses, so hypocritical.

"Mr. Eilish..." Juniper only looked at him.

"I'm not leaving. I want to see what you have to say." Joey pulled out a chair and was about to sit down...

"You go over there."

"Mr. Eilish?" Joey clenched her fists, reluctantly leaving under Juniper's smug gaze.

Juniper was nothing but trouble.

"What do you want to talk about?" Anthony said expressionlessly.

Juniper's heart was pounding. She was usually straightforward, but when it came to the child... she didn't know how to start and instinctively wanted to avoid it.

"I'm hungry. How about we order some food first?"

Anthony nodded. She was acting a bit strange today.

Juniper picked up the menu, "Everything looks so good... steak or cod?"

"Order whatever you like."

"Don't waste it, I can't eat that much." Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, but she, who was never a big eater, suddenly found everything appetizing.

Her eyes scanned the menu up and down repeatedly.

Anthony found it odd, "You used to be decisive when ordering."

"Yeah, I don't know why everything looks so good today."

Her hand trembled. Used to? He remembered?

Had he paid attention to her before?

Juniper's heart fluttered.

Maybe it was because of the pregnancy, but she was quite sensitive to these things now.

"Steak it is then."

"Alright." Anthony also ordered steak.

Juniper sipped her water.

"Cold water is bad for your stomach." Anthony didn't want to show concern for her, but some things were beyond his control.

"You get used to it after a while."

But Anthony had the waiter bring a glass of room temperature water.

"Thanks." Juniper licked her lips.

Joey was fuming on the side. She was clearly so casual, yet she pretended to be shy, and Anthony liked her like that, even changing her water.

Caring for a woman like her was a waste of genuine feelings.

"What did you want to tell me?"

"I..." Juniper gripped her glass tightly, her head lowered. How could she bring this up?

"Hmm?" Anthony raised an eyebrow.

"Um, Mr. Eilish, have you... been dating anyone recently?"

Better to confirm if he was single first.

"Does it matter to you?"

Juniper was stumped, scratching her head and stammering, "Not really, just making small talk, gossiping..."

Anthony said nothing.

"So, do you or don't you?"

"I don't like discussing personal matters," Anthony said flatly.

Juniper was speechless.

"Sometimes it's nice to chat occasionally, isn't it? There's nothing else to talk about."

"Aren't you here to discuss work?"

Alright then.

"I heard KD Company has big plans, expanding aggressively in Harmony City next year. Mr. Eilish, you must be too busy to date, right?"

The topic circled back.

Anthony wasn't stupid.

"You seem very concerned about whether I'm dating."

Was she afraid he would cling to her? The thought made Anthony feel a bit uncomfortable.

"I just think it's a loss for women if Mr. Eilish isn't dating."

It seemed she really wanted him to date.

"You don't need to worry about that for all women."

"Alright."

Still didn't ask.

But without confirming this, it was inconvenient to bring it up. Her principle was not to steal someone else's boyfriend.

Telling Anthony about the pregnancy had to be under the premise that he was single.

The steak arrived, and Juniper absentmindedly cut it, racking her brain on how to get the answer.

What a headache.

The knife scraped the plate, making a harsh sound.

Juniper stuck out her tongue, "Sorry." That was rude.

It seemed that matter was really bothering her.

Anthony felt a surge of frustration, "I currently don't have a date, and I don't plan to date anytime soon." He might even end up alone.

The answer came out of nowhere.

Juniper's eyes widened at him, but Anthony remained expressionless.

She was relieved.

Juniper smiled, "Well, that's that. But these things can't be rushed, it's all about fate. With Mr. Eilish's qualities, there will always be women interested, no shortage."

Anthony felt uncomfortable hearing that and asked, "Are you planning to introduce someone to me?"

Juniper was taken aback and asked back, "Do you want me to introduce someone?"

The question was stuck.

A few seconds later.

"No need, thanks." Anthony's tone was a bit cold.

"Oh." Juniper licked her lips.

What kind of crazy conversation was this, all over the place.

Now that she knew he didn't have a girlfriend, she had to think about how to naturally tell him about the pregnancy, hoping not to scare him.

Suddenly springing a child on him, he would definitely be shocked. What would his reaction be? Happy? Rejected?

Anthony was a responsible person, Juniper was sure he would marry her, but she didn't want him to marry her just because of the child.

So the key question was—did Anthony still have feelings for her?

Even if they got back together, there would be a rift, and the feelings couldn't go back to the way they were.

Thinking about this, she hesitated.

They chatted sporadically.

An hour passed without them realizing, the steak was finished, and the drinks were gone.

"Are you done eating?"

Was he planning to leave?

No, if she didn't say it now, she would be even more afraid to say it later.

Juniper took a deep breath, forcing herself to muster the courage to speak, "I, I have something to tell you."
