Chapter 878 Seeking Forgiveness
"I respect your wishes," Anthony said gently. "You're not just an accessory in this marriage; you have your own independent thoughts, goals, and pursuits, which is a good thing. Besides, you need to take good care of yourself for the next year, so it's not suitable for you to get pregnant."
Juniper was moved to tears. "Anthony, you're so good to me. You indulge me in everything and respect me. I'm so touched."
"Silly girl, then promise me you'll make more time to rest in the future. Try not to work past 10 PM, okay?"
"Okay. Don't worry, I'm not a robot. If I'm tired, I'll rest even without you telling me."
Anthony suddenly sighed deeply.
"What's wrong?"
"When you get busy, I feel completely ignored. It feels like we're in a long-distance relationship again," Anthony said, shaking his head.
Juniper smiled and scratched his chin like petting a cat. "Don't be like that. We're in the same city, working together for our future. Isn't that great?"
"It is, but I still want to see you, like, 24 hours a day."
"That would get old quickly. Haven't you heard the saying, 'Absence makes the heart grow fonder'?"
Anthony playfully tapped her nose. "You always have the best comebacks. I can't argue with you at all; I can only agree."
"That's because I'm right."
"Exactly, my wife is always right."
Juniper teased with a sweet smile, "Who's your wife? You're calling it too early."
Anthony pulled her hand over and looked at the diamond ring on her ring finger. "With this, you still want to run away?"
"It's just an engagement, not a marriage yet. There's a saying that as long as you're not married, you're technically still single."
"No way, you're mine!" Anthony covered her lips with his. "Juniper, you'll always be mine," he murmured passionately.
She seemed entranced, murmuring, "I'm yours, Anthony..."
A kiss, long and lingering, left them both breathless.
Anthony couldn't help but peck her rosy lips a few more times. "You little elf, so sweet, I can never get enough of kissing you."
"I don't want to let you go. Stay with me tonight, okay?"
Juniper thought about it. She didn't have to work until next week, and she had nothing much to do in the next couple of days. Her body had also mostly recovered.
"Don't worry, we won't do anything. Just sleep together," Anthony quickly added.
"Okay, but won't your dad be angry?"
"No, he can't control me. He's already tacitly approved of us being together."
"I really miss you. Before work starts, let's spend a couple more days together, okay? Please?" Anthony pleaded.
When a man acts cute, it's completely irresistible. Juniper felt a tingling sensation all over. "Okay."
"Great, thank you, baby." Anthony was as happy as a child.
The next day, at The Cooper Villa.
In the pouring rain, Elara cried out desperately, "Let me in, let me in, Aaron! Aaron! You can't do this to me! Aaron—"
She screamed as if someone had died, making Aaron in the living room feel annoyed.
She had been yelling for almost half an hour. Wasn't she tired?
"Go and drive her away," Aaron ordered the butler.
"But Mrs. Cooper..."
"Shut up! She's no longer Mrs. Cooper. She has nothing to do with the Cooper family. Get her out."
"Yes, Mr. Cooper." The butler was full of doubts.
Although Aaron and Elara often quarreled, they had never mentioned divorce, let alone been this ruthless. Hearing her cry in the rain for half an hour was pitiful; even he couldn't stand it.
"Aaron, Aaron—let me in! I want to go home!"
"Aaron—" Elara clung to the iron gate.
Saffron had forced her to complete the discharge procedures today. She was running out of time! She had to beg Aaron for forgiveness, or at least get more money to ensure her and her daughter's future!
"Aaron—"
"Stop shouting. Mr. Cooper won't let you in," the butler said, holding an umbrella.
"Hurry, let me in," Elara shouted.
"Damn it, how dare you, a butler, disobey me? I order you—"
"You no longer have the authority to order me, Mrs. Cooper. No, Mr. Cooper said there's no Mrs. Cooper in this house anymore. He told you to leave."
Elara grabbed the iron gate with both hands, pressing her face against it as if she wanted to bite him, her eyes filled with hatred. "No, he can't do this to me!"
"Those are Mr. Cooper's exact words."
"Open the gate! Open it!"
"If you don't open it, I'll kill you!" Elara threatened, looking so crazed that the butler took a step back.
"Stop pestering. Mr. Cooper won't see you. Leave, or I'll call someone."
"How dare you? Aaron—you bastard, you heartless man!"
"Let me in!"
"Aaron!"
"Bastard! Bastard! You can't do this to me!"
"Aaron!"
"Let her in."
In the pouring rain, a cold voice suddenly rang out.
A clap of thunder, and Aaron stood at the villa's entrance.
"Honey—" Elara's eyes lit up with hope, and she shouted with joy.
The butler opened the gate, and Elara rushed towards him, stumbling and falling, scraping her knees.
But she seemed to feel no pain, throwing herself at him regardless.
Slipping on the steps, Elara knelt before Aaron, who took a step back.
"Honey, you've forgiven me, haven't you? Honey..."
"You still love me, don't you?"
"I knew you wouldn't be so cruel to me," Elara wailed.
Aaron looked at her coldly. "Love you? I could never love a bitch like you!"
"Honey, I know I was wrong. I was possessed before. Please forgive me."
"Possessed? For over twenty years? And you made me raise someone else's daughter? Elara, I really want to kick you to death!" Aaron said angrily.
Elara crawled over and hugged his leg. "Honey, honey, kick me. It's my fault. Hit me. Take a whip and lash me to vent your anger, okay?"
"Hitting you would dirty my hands. Get lost!"
"No, I won't leave. Honey, I love you. I really love you. You can't do this to me. I'll die without you."
"Do you love me or my money? You just want to secure your lifestyle. Elara, you selfish bitch!" Aaron humiliated her harshly.
"Yes, I'm despicable, but I truly know I was wrong. Honey, give me another chance. Let's start over, okay?" Elara cried and wailed, tears streaming down her face. If you didn't know the situation, you'd think Aaron was heartlessly bullying her.
"I promise I'll be good. I won't cause any more trouble. Just think of me as a dog you're raising, okay? Please, honey?"
