Chapter 673 Getting Beaten

As soon as Juniper walked through the door, she could feel the bad vibes hitting her like a truck.

Aaron was on the couch, gripping a wooden stick like he was ready to go to war, his face twisted in anger.

Sure, Aaron had lost his cool before and waved that stick around, but he’d never actually hit her.

But this time? Juniper had a gut feeling he wasn’t just bluffing. His face was way scarier than usual.

Elara and Saffron were chilling nearby, ready to enjoy the drama.

Juniper felt a knot in her stomach, but she played it cool and walked forward.

"Stop right there! Are you blind? Can't you see me?" Aaron yelled. "Get over here!"

"Damn it!" Aaron chased after her, roaring, "I told you to stop. Are you deaf? How did you turn into such a liar, so casual and reckless, daring to deceive me? Are you out of your mind? Do you think it's fun to mess with me?"

Juniper shut her eyes and smirked. "What? Upset that your dreams of cozying up to the Eilish family went up in smoke?"

Aaron shouted, "You still dare to mock me! So stubborn and arrogant. Do you think your mother would be proud of you?"

Juniper snapped back, "The one who let my mom down is you. You betrayed her and brought your side chick and her kid into our home. If my mom were still alive, she wouldn't let you off."

"Bastard!" In a fit of rage, Aaron whacked Juniper's back with the stick.

She groaned, her face going pale from the pain.

Aaron had hit her hard, and even he was shocked for a second. He hadn’t meant to hit her; he just lost it.

Elara and Saffron were loving it. They’d been waiting for this moment, their eyes practically sparkling with excitement.

In their heads, they were cheering, 'Keep going and beat this ungrateful girl to death! Beat her to death!'

Aaron asked, "Do you know you're wrong?"

"I'm not wrong, so why should I admit to something I didn't do?" Juniper’s lips were pale, but she stubbornly refused to back down, giving a cold smile. "You're the one who's wrong."

Aaron shot back, "What did I do wrong? I just want you to have a good life, is that so bad?"

Juniper sneered, "You don’t care about my life; you only care about your own interests. I’m just a pawn for you to gain benefits. Aaron, do you know how pathetic you look when you try to suck up to Anthony? You make me sick!"

Aaron was livid and raised the stick to strike again, pained by the hatred in Juniper’s eyes.

They were father and daughter. He had always cherished her, never wanting to hurt her, but now they were like enemies.

Being despised and scorned by Juniper, Aaron felt an indescribable pain, a suffocating feeling.

Aaron said, "Am I doing this just for myself? I'm doing it for the entire Cooper Group. I have so many employees depending on me. What's wrong with wanting them to have a better life?"

"So you can sacrifice me?" Juniper’s eyes reddened. "Who I want to be with is my choice. You have no right to interfere."

Aaron ordered, "Then don’t go to the Eilish Group and embarrass yourself. Quit your job tomorrow and stay at home. You’re not allowed to step out of the house."

Juniper replied, "I won’t. Who I date and where I work is my choice. You can’t control me."

Aaron shouted, "I'm your father!"

Juniper shook her head. "From the moment you caused my mom's death and sent me abroad, I was no longer your daughter."

"What did you say? Say that again?" Aaron was furious.

"Just act like I was never your daughter. You've got them now," Juniper shot a sarcastic glance at Saffron and Elara, who were like vultures, circling around the Cooper family's assets, ready to bleed Aaron dry and take over the Cooper Group.

Aaron was definitely gonna regret this someday!

Juniper gritted her teeth through the pain and bolted upstairs.

"I'm gonna have a heart attack because of her!" Aaron clutched his chest, looking like he was about to keel over.

"Honey, why'd you hit her?" Elara said, pretending to be disapproving, though she was secretly pissed he only hit her once. She thought he should've beaten Juniper until she was writhing in agony.

'He's too soft. Why doesn't he beat her to death?' Elara thought.

"I just lost it!" Aaron's face was twisted with anger. "So disobedient, always going against me. One day, she'll be the death of me."

Elara complained, "She was fine when she was abroad. You insisted on bringing her back and even faked being sick to trick her. I tried to stop you, but you didn't listen. Now look at this mess. I think, since she and Mr. Eilish are done, you should send her back abroad. Keeping her here will really drive you to an early grave. I'm not trying to get rid of her; I'm doing this for her own good."

Aaron wasn't comfortable with Juniper being alone abroad, which is why he brought her back. Now he was reluctant to send her away again.

But Elara's words made some sense.

Aaron was exhausted. He said, "I'll think about it."

He was still worried that he had hit her too hard earlier and felt some regret. "Put some medicine on her."

"Got it." Elara agreed readily, but in her heart, she thought, 'I hope it hurts her to death.'

Juniper's back was on fire. She couldn't lie down and could only pitifully lie on her stomach on the bed.

Juniper thought, 'From childhood to now, this is the first time Aaron has hit me, and it hurts so much. I can't stay in this house any longer. I don't want to use Aaron's money, live in his house, or eat his food. I have to be independent. As soon as I get my first paycheck, I'll immediately rent a place and move out, even if it's a tiny room. Anything is better than staying here.'

The sound of the door opening came.

Juniper grimaced, "Why did it take you so long to get the medicine? It hurts so much."

"Juniper, you brought this on yourself. Who told you to piss off Dad?" Saffron's gloating voice came through.

Juniper immediately suppressed her pained expression and glared. "What are you doing here? Get out."

Saffron was holding the medicine. "I'm here to kindly put the medicine on for you, Juniper."

Juniper said, "Get out! Stop pretending."

"I'm really not pretending. If you don't get better soon, how will you attend my wedding with Douglas?"

Juniper mocked, "Are you sure you can marry him? The baby in your belly might not be a son. If it's a daughter, your hopes will be dashed. And with your stalking skills, haven't you found out how many women Douglas has impregnated outside? You're just one of his many tools."

"You..." Saffron's face turned grim because Juniper was telling the truth.

Since that incident, Douglas had become wary of her and hid his other women well. She didn't know how many there were and felt very insecure.

Saffron threatened, "Juniper, aren't you afraid of karma with that sharp tongue of yours?"

Juniper retorted, "You should be careful when you walk. Stealing someone else's boyfriend might get you hit by a car."

"Mind your own business. Look at you, lying on the bed like a dead fish. And Mr. Eilish dumped you. It's really adding insult to injury." Saffron shook her head. "But you can only blame yourself for being so promiscuous, dating two men at the same time. Did you think Mr. Eilish was a fool? You thought you were smart, but you ended up hurting yourself."
