Chapter 751 You Want to Cancel the Engagement?
Hera had just asked him if he had another woman when a sudden noise came from the lounge.
Anthony's expression changed slightly, while Hera's face turned pale. "Is there a woman in there?"
She rushed inside without a second thought.
"Stop." Anthony tried to stop her, but Hera was furious, like a raging bull.
She had always trusted Anthony because she believed in his character, thinking he wasn't the type to cheat, but she never expected...
Her anger was burning.
"Get out of my way!" Hera shoved Anthony aside and stormed into the room.
No one was there.
But the sheets were messy, and there was a woman's scent in the air, a cheap scent.
"Stop going crazy!" Anthony tried to drag her out, but Hera rushed into the bathroom.
Juniper was putting on her underwear, a scene too easy to misunderstand!
Juniper's face turned pale.
Hera's face was flushed, and before anyone could react, Hera slapped Juniper.
"What are you doing!" Anthony was too late to stop it, and five bright red finger marks appeared on Juniper's face.
Her right cheek was swollen, burning with pain, and for a few seconds, she was completely deafened.
"It's you!"
Juniper provoked Hera more than any other woman.
Three months, for three whole months, she couldn't eat or sleep well, always worried that one day Juniper would come back to take Anthony away.
She was constantly on edge, and her worst fear had finally come true.
Juniper was back!
Like a haunting ghost!
A slap couldn't quench Hera's anger; she wanted to fight her. But doing so would only make herself more pathetic.
"What are you doing?" Anthony looked at the finger marks on Juniper's face, feeling heartbroken.
"What am I doing? Hitting a bitch." Hera sneered, "Does it feel good to steal my husband? Does it? You are educated, don't you know about morals and shame?"
Juniper's ears were ringing, but Hera's humiliation was crystal clear.
Although she hadn't done anything serious with Anthony, the current situation still made her feel disgusted with herself.
No wife could see this and not be angry. If it were her, it would be more than just a slap; she might even use a knife.
Yes, she deserved that slap.
Juniper bit her lip, "I'm sorry."
Anthony's heart ached terribly. She was clearly the victim; she shouldn't have to apologize. She did nothing wrong!
"Having an affair with my husband, and a simple 'sorry' is enough? If I killed your whole family and then said 'sorry,' would you accept it?"
Hera's anger flared even more at the sight of her red eyes.
She felt miserable? Playing the victim!
Disgusting!
She was just acting in front of Anthony, a common tactic of a despicable mistress.
So cheap!
"Stop going crazy." Anthony dragged Hera out.
"I'm not leaving. Why are you dragging me? She should be the one to leave!"
Juniper had only half put on her underwear and couldn't leave, standing there in embarrassment.
"You come out first." Anthony glanced at Juniper with a pained expression. "Take your time and put your clothes on," he said in a softer tone.
He was harsh to her but spoke so gently to Juniper, driving Hera crazy.
"Let go! Anthony, let go of me!"
Hera was forcibly dragged outside.
"How much more do you want to make a scene?"
"Shouldn't I make a scene? Don't I have the right to make a scene?" Hera said furiously.
"Anthony, I thought you were a decent man, but I was blind. How could you do this to me?" Her eyes were bloodshot with anger.
"I was wrong, but it has nothing to do with Juniper. She slept alone in there last night; nothing happened between us."
"Do you think I would believe such nonsense?"
"Even if you don't believe it, it's the truth."
"Then why was she in there? On your bed?"
"She's a partner; we had a meeting last night."
Hera sneered.
Hearing such an excuse, Hera found it even more ridiculous, utterly absurd.
So disgusting she wanted to vomit.
"Out of all the companies in the world, why hers? Do you think it's just a coincidence? No, she approached you on purpose!"
"She didn't."
Hera laughed and shook her head, "Anthony, you're such a smart person, how can you be played by Juniper and still help her?"
"Why can't you see through that woman's schemes! She approached you on purpose, then played hard to get, don't you get it?"
"She didn't do that; she's already moved on."
"Moved on in your bed?" Hera wanted to knock some sense into him.
Juniper hurried out and left quickly.
"Bitch, stop right there." Hera tried to grab her, but Anthony stopped her.
Juniper escaped.
"I'm your fiancée, why are you protecting her!" Hera screamed hysterically, "Do you like her that much?"
Unexpectedly—
"Yes, I like her, very much." Anthony said calmly, feeling much better.
Hera was devastated. How could he admit it so directly? He was so cruel!
"I tried to control it, but I haven't been able to forget her for a moment in the past three months. After seeing her this time, I find it even harder to control my feelings for her. I have fallen in love with her."
Hera was thunderstruck, taking a few steps back.
Anthony pinched his brow, looking somewhat helpless, "Love is uncontrollable. I tried to control it, but I couldn't."
"You're right, I owe you an apology. I made it clear that night—I can give you a marriage, but I can't give you my heart."
"Are you seriously telling me that you can only give me your body but your heart betrays me? Anthony, do you really think you're justified? When did your morals become so twisted?"
Hera demanded, her voice filled with anger and disappointment.
"I know it's wrong, but I find it hard to control myself. Hera, I don't want to betray you, and I don't want to hurt you either," Anthony replied, his voice laden with helplessness and regret.
"So, what now? Do you want to call off the engagement?" Hera's tears had turned cold, and her voice was now cold and resolute.
"Yes." Every second was painful for him, like an invisible rope tightening around his neck, making it hard to breathe.
"Anthony, you are so cruel..." Hera shook her head. "You're a hypocrite! A scoundrel! Using the excuse of not wanting to hurt me, you cheat and then dump me. Is that it? And am I supposed to be grateful to you?"
"No, I know I've wronged you, but you also know that continuing this would be a mistake. In the end, you'd be the one who suffers the most."
"Don't give me that 'it's for my own good' nonsense, Anthony. If you really cared about me, you wouldn't have gotten involved with that woman. This is all about you. You just want to dump me and be with her, right?"
Anthony remained silent. His heart was in turmoil; he hadn't thought that far ahead yet. But...
"Tell me, if we call off the engagement, will you go after her?"
