Chapter 761 Business Dinner

It wasn't until later that Brice finally focused and worked until the afternoon.

"You're not going to the dinner party tonight, right?" Juniper was packing up; she still needed to change clothes.

"Yeah, it's a pity. It was supposed to be our first event together, but it coincides with my mom's birthday."

"Your mom's birthday party is more important. You can just send a representative to this kind of dinner. It's okay if you don't go. I'm just going to meet some people and then head back."

"At that kind of dinner, there will definitely be a lot of men hitting on you. Will you give them your contact information?"

"If there's a potential for collaboration, exchanging contact information is normal," Juniper nodded.

"But what if they're just after your looks? Is that okay too?"

"To expand my network, I have to keep meeting people, even if I know they have ulterior motives. You've been working for a long time; you understand this."

"I do understand, but my girlfriend is so beautiful, I'm still worried about losing you. Just thinking about those guys swarming around you makes me jealous."

His angry look was a bit childish, quite cute.

Juniper smiled, "If I wanted a boyfriend, I would have found one long ago. I remember I have a boyfriend, okay?"

"You said it, don't let them get close to you, don't let them hit on you!"

"Okay, got it."

"Good girl," Brice was a bit happier, "How about you don't go either?"

"Hmm?" Juniper looked puzzled.

"Today is my mom's birthday, and I invited you to join as my girlfriend."

"That's too sudden," Juniper shook her head, "Today is only our third day of dating. What would your mom think? She'd definitely think we're too casual."

"Then just say we've been dating for a while."

"You know I don't like lying. One lie requires countless others to cover it up, and it's easy to slip up later. Let's wait until our relationship is more stable, okay?"

Brice knew he was being a bit hasty, but having such an outstanding girlfriend, he was eager to introduce her to his family.

He shrugged helplessly, "Alright, we'll find another opportunity later."

"Okay."

"Juniper..." Brice impulsively leaned in to kiss her.

Just as their lips were about to touch, Juniper instinctively pulled away. She didn't think much; it was a reflex.

"Sorry."

"No, I should be the one apologizing. I was too hasty," Brice's face blushed with embarrassment, "I'm sorry, I..."

"You don't need to say it; I understand. Let's take it slow, okay?"

"Okay. Finish the dinner early and call me when you get home. I'll be waiting."

"Alright."

Juniper left work early, went to the design studio for a makeover, and changed into a black evening gown to attend the dinner party.

The black mermaid dress, with a low back, revealed her smooth skin, making her look like a mysterious and noble goddess, cold and elegant, stunning everyone as she entered.

"Who is she? So beautiful."

"This woman indeed has a unique aura."

"Yeah, and a great figure too."

"This beauty is mine tonight," someone said confidently.

"Why? I saw her first; she should be mine."

"She's not an object; whoever sees her first gets her? Ridiculous."

"Then let's all try. Let's see who can win this beauty over."

"Agreed."

Several well-dressed men surrounded her.

Soon, Juniper was surrounded by all kinds of men, tall, short, fat, thin, all eagerly asking for her contact information.

If it were a private dinner, Juniper wouldn't give it, but this kind of business dinner was meant for networking, so she exchanged business cards with them.

At this moment, Anthony walked in. Just as Juniper attracted the men's attention, Anthony's entrance drove the women crazy.

"Wow, who is he? So charming!"

"Such a gentle and elegant aura, he must be from a prestigious family."

"He looks so attractive."

"Do you think I can approach him?"

"He doesn't seem in the mood, his expression is a bit cold and distracted."

"Yeah, I feel the same."

"A handsome guy like him is best admired from afar. It would be embarrassing to be rejected."

"True, he's out of our league."

Anthony walked past Juniper without looking at her, but her heart tightened for some reason. Seeing so many men around her, Anthony might misunderstand.

But why should she care about that?

Later, there were too many people asking for her number, and Juniper felt a bit dizzy. She was also being pointed at, as if she were a woman who came to mess around with rich men.

Eager to escape, she broke through the crowd and walked to Anthony's side.

Seeing such an outstanding man beside her, the others felt ashamed and didn't dare approach.

Juniper secretly breathed a sigh of relief.

Anthony had a few glasses of champagne.

He seemed to have drunk a bit too much today.

"Mr. Eilish, you're here too."

Anthony nodded indifferently. He didn't want to admit that he came for her. He kept telling himself to stay away from her, but he kept looking for her.

Normally, he wouldn't attend such a dinner.

Seeing her surrounded by men made him very unhappy.

"Where is he?" Anthony couldn't help but ask, his voice tinged with jealousy.

"Him? You mean Brice?"

'Who else could it be? Does she have another boyfriend?' Anthony thought.

"It's his mom's birthday today, so he went to that."

"He didn't bring you?"

Why did that sound a bit sharp?

Juniper was stunned for a moment before answering, "We're not at that stage yet."

"Then what stage are you at?" Kissing, having sex?

Anthony felt even more jealous.

Juniper was taken aback.

His question was hard to answer, and Juniper felt a bit uncomfortable. She silently took a sip of champagne and didn't respond.

She was a bit hungry, "I'm going to get some cake, do you want some?"

"No, thanks."

His expression wasn't very pleasant, and Juniper didn't want to provoke him further, so she went by herself.

But as soon as she left Anthony, those men swarmed around her again, inviting her to dance.

"I was first."

"No, I was!"

"Hey, what are you arguing about? Is this a first-come, first-served issue? I'm more handsome and richer than you, this lady should dance with me."

"Who do you think you are? How much money do you have?"

They were about to fight.

Juniper stood in the middle with her cake, helpless.

She wanted to say, 'Can you guys argue without involving me?'

She just wanted to eat her cake in peace.

Just when she was feeling helpless, a hand suddenly pulled her out of the crowd, took her cake, handed it to a waiter, and led her to the dance floor.
