Chapter 765 The Cooper Group Has No Place for You
Elara said without hesitation, "Of course, do you think I would lie?"
She vowed, "If I'm lying, may I get hit by a car when I step out!"
"You're cursing yourself like that, aren't you afraid of actually getting hit by a car?" came a cold, mocking voice.
Elara and Saffron looked in shock at Juniper, who had suddenly appeared at the door.
How did she come back?
Juniper was wearing a blue T-shirt and jeans, showing off her long, toned legs, looking bright and healthy.
Saffron immediately felt a surge of jealousy. 'Damn it, Juniper got even prettier and slimmer. Even in a place like a hospital, she looks stunning and breathtaking.'
In contrast, Saffron, who had gained weight due to pregnancy, looked like a bloated middle-aged woman. The comparison made her feel ugly and want to hide.
"Juniper!" Aaron was excited to see her, "Why did you come back all of a sudden?"
"Aunt called me." Juniper sneered at Elara, who had a sullen face, "Didn't you say you called me many times? How come I didn't receive any of them?"
"You, you probably didn't hear them," Elara said guiltily, clenching her fingers.
"You just said you talked to me and that I personally said I wouldn't come back."
Caught in her lie, Elara's face turned even more unpleasant, "I..."
"You lied to me again!" Aaron threw a pillow at her, and Elara didn't dare to dodge.
"I, I didn't call her because I knew she wouldn't come back, and I didn't want to disappoint you, honey. I was thinking about your health..." Elara stammered, trying to explain.
"Don't take me for a fool!"
"Really, I swear!"
Juniper rolled her eyes. "Stop swearing so much, I'm afraid you don't have enough lives to take all the punishments!"
"You're cursing me," Elara said harshly.
"I'm just 'kindly' reminding you."
"You're cursing my mom, you're so vicious," Saffron accused.
Juniper glanced at her, "Who's this old lady? Oh, wait, it's Saffron. You've gotten so fat, I thought they hired a chubby nurse."
Saffron, hit where it hurt, immediately became furious, "You..."
"You're back for the will, aren't you? Honey, I was right, she's ungrateful. If it weren't for the will, she wouldn't have come back. She doesn't care about you; she's just after the money."
"Yeah, Dad, that's right. Only Mom and I truly care about you," Saffron quickly pledged her loyalty.
"Did I mention the will? But you two, in just a few minutes, kept talking about the will. Who's really after the money?"
Although Juniper didn't care about the money, she wouldn't let it fall into the hands of this mother-daughter duo. It was her mom and grandpa's hard work, and she wouldn't let them have it! Not a single cent!
"I, I was just thinking about him, in case something happened," Elara argued.
"Shut up!" Aaron roared, not wanting to hear such words, "I'm fine, why would I need a will? Even if I made a will, the Cooper Group wouldn't go to you, so stop dreaming!"
Elara was furious. She had done so much and endured so much just for the Cooper Group. He couldn't think he could brush her off with a little money and a house; she wouldn't agree to that.
"Dad, it's not fair to talk about Mom like that..."
"Get out, seeing you two annoys me!"
Elara laughed angrily, "We annoy you? Don't forget, we were the ones taking care of you after your car accident. Now that she's back, you want to kick us out? What do you take us for, tools to be used and discarded?"
"Was it you taking care of me? You just lazed around. It was the nurse taking care of me!"
"Do you have any conscience saying that? Didn't I put in any effort? Wasn't it me who hired the nurse?"
"Wasn't it my money?" Aaron retorted.
"You..."
"You two leave first, don't disturb my dad's rest," Juniper said. They were like hundreds of ducks, making so much noise that her ears hurt.
"If we leave, you'll trick your dad into making a will, right? I'm not leaving!" Elara said angrily.
"Then I'll have security throw you out. Security, security!" Juniper shouted.
"Aren't you ashamed? Get out now!" Aaron snapped, clearly pissed off.
Elara was so angry she jumped, "You rely on her? You'll regret it, and you'll come begging me! Saffron, let's go!"
Saffron glared at Juniper with hatred before leaving.
The room finally quieted down.
Aaron shook his head, "How did I ever fall for such a greedy shrew?"
If he weren't so old, he would have wanted a divorce.
"How are you feeling? Still in pain?" Juniper asked awkwardly.
"Now that you're back, it doesn't hurt anymore." Aaron smiled, "Is work tough? You've lost weight."
"Work is always tough, but it's okay," Juniper said lightly.
His daughter had really matured, and Aaron was very pleased. He had protected her too well before, planning her life, including her marriage, which wasn't good for her growth.
"It was my fault before. I shouldn't have interfered with your marriage, and I shouldn't have pushed you into a marriage alliance. I just wanted you to find someone reliable..."
"It's all in the past, don't talk about it," Juniper interrupted him.
Seeing Aaron's white hair made her feel uncomfortable. She had been struggling alone in Libertonia, not using any family money, and had experienced the ups and downs of life, understanding her father's difficulties.
Elara and Saffron only loved money and didn't care about him, which made him quite pitiful.
"Okay, I won't mention it... Do you have a boyfriend now?"
"Yes, a colleague. He's nice, reliable, and treats me well."
"How's his family?"
"Upper-middle class, I haven't looked into it specifically."
"I've come to realize that family background isn't the most important thing. Upper-middle class is fine, even if it's a bit worse than ours. The key is that he truly cares about you. As long as someone takes care of you, I can be at ease, in case one day..."
"Don't say things like that," Juniper interrupted him.
"No one can predict disasters. I should make a will soon to prevent them from targeting the Cooper Group."
Juniper comforted him, "The most important thing for you now is to take good care of your health. Don't worry about other things."
"Will you stay here with me?"
"Yes, I took half a month off."
"That's good, thank you, Juniper."
Juniper felt a mix of emotions.
Outside the hospital room.
"Damn aunt, who asked her to meddle!" Saffron clenched her fists angrily, "If she hadn't come back suddenly, we could have sweet-talked Dad, and he might have given us the Cooper Group!"
"Exactly, Juniper acts so high and mighty, but isn't she after the money too? She's just more cunning, pretending not to care about the Cooper Group, making your dad think she doesn't care, so he insists on giving the company to her. It's a clever move, a sly fox."
"Mom, what should we do? If we don't take this chance to get Dad to make a will, once he gets more clear-headed, we really won't get anything."
