Chapter 752 Forcing Herself to Continue

"Yes," Anthony finally gave a definitive answer.

"I've loved you for so many years, and suddenly I find you disgusting. Anthony... you're really selfish," Hera kept shaking her head.

"To think that the person I've loved for so many years is actually a scumbag."

Anthony nodded, "Yes, I'm terrible. I'm not worthy of your love."

"You don't need to say such things to get rid of me. It won't make me hate you any less."

"But Anthony, I won't let you go..." Hera said, clenching her fists.

This was expected by Anthony. Hera's personality had changed, becoming more extreme, and he was partly responsible for it.

He caused it, and now he was hurting both himself and her.

"Why are you doing this?"

"Isn't it normal? You hurt me, and now you want to abandon me to pursue happiness. Do you think I would agree?" Hera shook her head. "It's not that easy."

"You're sacrificing yourself to get back at me. It's the most foolish and self-destructive thing. You're still young; you shouldn't waste yourself on me."

"I gave you my first time, and everyone knows we're getting married. The wedding is in half a month. Saying this now, don't you think it's hypocritical? You're doing it for yourself, not for me. Stop saying such hypocritical things that make me want to vomit."

"I just want to ask you, you promised me that as long as I was willing to marry you, you would marry me. Does that still count?"

Anthony was almost depressed. Why was she so obsessed?

"Answer me."

"Hera..."

"Don't talk about anything else. Just answer my question," Hera said loudly.

"Yes."

"Good, then remember your promise."

"Even now, with things like this, even knowing that the person I like is Juniper, you still insist on getting married?"

"Yes!"

"Hera, I can't guarantee how long I can control myself. I can't be sure I won't do something to hurt you in the future. I don't want that."

"You've already done it, and now you're saying this. Isn't it fake?"

"I didn't touch her. She slept inside last night, and I slept on the couch."

"I don't believe you," Hera shook her head.

"Anthony, I forgive you this time, and only this time. If I catch you again, I'll ruin the Eilish family's reputation! I'll let everyone know you're a hypocrite."

"You better stay away from her!" Hera warned coldly.

Anthony's face also turned cold. "I can't. The two companies are currently collaborating."

"Then cancel it."

"No," Anthony hated this kind of threat. "I've made it very clear. To minimize losses, we must cancel the engagement. As for anything else, I can't promise you."

"So you want me to turn a blind eye to your infidelity?"

Anthony didn't say anything.

Hera knew he was forcing her to cancel the engagement.

Such a selfish man was no longer the one she loved. Was it meaningful to persist?

Hera was sure she would be in great pain in the future, with endless arguments. But at this moment, people often lose their rationality.

She didn't want to think about the future. She had only one thought in her mind: she would rather suffer than let them be together.

She wanted Juniper to always be the other woman!

Her entire mind was completely occupied by this thought.

Even if it meant mutual destruction!

At worst, everyone would suffer together. She would drag them down to hell with her.

"The wedding will go on as planned," Hera said firmly.

Their relationship was more strained than before. Anthony found it unbearable.

"Leave me alone," Anthony said weakly.

"There are so many things to prepare for the wedding: the dress, the venue, all sorts of things. It's unfair for me to handle everything alone. From now on, you must also take on your responsibilities as the groom."

Anthony frowned, "Are you ordering me?"

"If you don't have the self-awareness, then consider it an order. Why should I do everything?"

While she was busy and exhausted, he was with that woman at the company...

Hera felt like a fool.

"If you don't want to, you don't have to."

"Do you want our wedding to be a joke?"

"Don't get married, don't have a wedding, whatever you want."

He was now showing a "do whatever you want, I don't care" attitude, right?

Hera was furious but had no way to force him because she couldn't put a knife to his neck and make him do it.

If she wanted a beautiful wedding, she had to continue doing everything herself. And he, doing nothing, was still entangled with Juniper.

He was forcing her to cancel the engagement.

No matter what, Hera was very unhappy.

But continuing to argue was meaningless. She feared she might lose control and fight him.

She glared at him hatefully and stormed out.

Anthony closed his eyes and let out a helpless sigh.

Meanwhile, Juniper walked quickly out of KD Company with her head down.

There weren't many people at the company at this time, but she was still afraid of being noticed because she felt guilty.

Her face was swollen and still hurt, making her feel utterly humiliated.

She got into a taxi, and Jack's call came in.

She hesitated but answered.

"Juniper, where are you? You didn't answer your phone all night. I was worried something happened to you. Are you okay?"

To her, Jack was like a caring elder.

"I'm fine," she said, trying to sound strong.

"Okay, remember to answer your phone next time. I was really worried about you."

"Is there something you need?"

"No, just checking on your work. You were at KD Company all day yesterday, right? How did it go?"

"Very smoothly."

"Good, that's great. This is your first time completing a project independently, but I have complete confidence in you. You have the ability. The profit from this project is significant. If it goes well, I think I can retire early, haha."

"I told you before, right? I want to retire early, travel the world for a year, then buy a house in the suburbs with my wife, plant some flowers, and maybe even start a cattle farm. That's my ultimate dream."

"Of course, that's if the project goes well. Otherwise, I'll have to work for another three years. No pressure, I'm just sharing with you. I believe in you."

Listening to Jack enthusiastically talk about his dreams, Juniper couldn't bring herself to say she wanted someone else to take over the project.

First, she didn't want to disappoint Jack. Second, no one else could take over the project. Jack was in the hospital and couldn't come back.

In the end, it was up to her.

"Don't worry, your dream will come true. Just remember to invite me over when it does," she said, pretending to be relaxed.

"Of course, you're my VIP," Jack laughed heartily. He didn't know Juniper was holding back tears.

Juniper hung up the phone and thought of Hera's hateful eyes... She deserved that slap.

And she could only force herself to continue.
