Chapter 912 Congratulations, You're Pregnant
Two nights later.
At the Eilish Villa.
During dinner, everyone chatted as usual, seemingly the same as always, but Juniper could sense that it wasn't normal; they were all trying hard to act nonchalant.
Anthony's parents were very considerate of her feelings, just like Anthony, but this only made her feel more bitter inside.
"Juniper, you haven't eaten much today. Have some more soup," Brenda said, serving her a bowl.
"Thanks, Mom. I'm full and don't have much of an appetite," Juniper replied with a faint smile.
"This soup has been simmering for a long time; it's very nutritious. If you don't have an appetite, just take a sip, okay?"
"Okay." Juniper reluctantly took a sip. "It's very light and tasty."
But her heart and stomach were too bitter to enjoy it.
Under the table, Anthony held her hand and smiled at her.
Juniper forced a smile in return.
After dinner, Brenda had the servants prepare some fruit.
"Juniper, we have something to discuss with you," Ruben began. "Although you are our daughter-in-law, your mom and I have always treated you like our own daughter."
"I know you've been under a lot of pressure and have felt wronged during this time. But what we care about is you, not whether you can get pregnant. As long as you and Anthony are happy, that's all that matters, even if you don't have children."
"Dad..." Juniper was shocked to hear him say this.
"The Eilish family only has Anthony as a son, we can't..."
"Yes, we certainly hope to have a grandson to carry on the Eilish family name, but if that's not possible, there's no need to force it," Ruben continued. "Seeing you so anxious and upset about having a child makes your mom and me uncomfortable."
"Actually, times have changed. They say that raising a child can be more meaningful than having one biologically. Adoption is always an option. There are so many ways; why put yourself in a difficult position?"
"Yes, your dad and I have discussed it. Whether the child is biological or not isn't that important. What we don't want to see is you being so upset over this," Brenda added with a kind smile.
"Nowadays, many people choose not to have children. From a woman's perspective, women are not just childbearing tools. You've already excelled in your field and lived out your value, not just defined by having children."
"Life can't be perfect; there will always be some flaws. You don't need to see this as a huge problem. Even if we are a wealthy family, at the core, we are still a family. Family members loving and supporting each other is what truly matters."
"Yes, Mom and Dad's thoughts are my thoughts too," Anthony said, hugging Juniper with one arm. "We care about you. As long as you're happy, that's all that matters, okay?"
Juniper couldn't hold back her tears. "Thank you, Mom and Dad. Thank you, honey."
How did she deserve such understanding parents and a gentle, caring husband?
At that moment, Juniper's conflicted feelings suddenly eased a lot.
She couldn't keep herself trapped in that shadow, making them worry.
"It's getting late, Mom and Dad. Juniper and I will head back now," Anthony said, standing up.
"Alright, go back early. Juniper, once you get home, forget about the child issue. You two are still young; you can think about it in a few years. There's no rush."
"Yes, your mom and I plan to travel the world; we don't have time to help you with the kids," Ruben joked.
Juniper stood up, suddenly feeling dizzy.
When she woke up, she was lying in a hospital bed, with Ruben, Brenda, and Anthony looking at her with concern.
"What happened to me?" Juniper felt dizzy.
"You fainted."
"Fainted?"
Why did she suddenly faint? Was it because of the stress lately?
"Honey," Anthony said, holding her hand excitedly. "You're pregnant!"
Juniper froze. "What... what did you say?"
"You're pregnant. You fainted because you're pregnant," Anthony said, his voice trembling with excitement.
"I'm pregnant... but I thought..." Juniper's heart raced. The surprise was so sudden she couldn't believe it.
"Am I dreaming?"
Just as she was about to pinch herself, Anthony grabbed her hand. "Pinch me instead. This isn't a dream; it's real! You're already half a month pregnant!"
Juniper still couldn't believe it and looked at the doctor, who nodded with a smile. "Congratulations, Mrs. Juniper Eilish."
Ruben and Brenda were also beaming with joy.
Juniper touched her belly. "I'm really pregnant? This isn't a dream?"
"No!"
"I'm pregnant. I'm finally pregnant." Juniper threw herself into Anthony's arms, screaming with joy.
As she screamed, her nose suddenly tingled, and she started crying, choking out, "I'm finally pregnant."
Over the past six months, she had endured so much psychological pressure, taken so many medications, and undergone so many treatments. She knew how hard it was.
And Anthony had been with her through it all, feeling her pain. "You've been through a lot."
Juniper shook her head, sobbing. "As long as the result is good, the process doesn't matter."
"I told you, surprises always come when you least expect them."
"You're right," Juniper said, crying tears of joy.
"Mrs. Juniper Eilish is a bit anemic. Considering her physical condition, it's best for her to stop working and focus on resting and nourishing her body at home. That would be more secure."
"Thank you, doctor. I'll do that."
After being discharged, Juniper returned to the company to hand over her work to Kieran.
"You heartless person, leaving the entire company to me while you go off and enjoy yourself. It's too cruel," Kieran said with a pained expression.
"Come on, being the acting president isn't good? It's so impressive," Juniper teased him.
"But it's just acting. I get the same salary for doing the most work. It's too miserable," Kieran shook his head.
"Alright, alright, I'll double your salary."
Kieran immediately saluted. "Thank you, boss. Don't worry about the company. I'll take good care of it and won't let you down."
"Yes, yes, I trust you the most. Good luck and work hard," Juniper said, patting his shoulder seriously.
"You take good care of yourself too and give me a beautiful daughter-in-law," Kieran said just as seriously.
"Who said it would be your daughter-in-law? What if it's a son?"
Kieran replied earnestly, "I don't mind if my son is gay."
"Get out!" Juniper rolled her eyes, amused. "Alright, I'm leaving. The company is in your hands, Mr. Morgan!"
Anthony's car was waiting for her downstairs. He got out to open the door for her. "Careful."
Juniper looked back.
"What? Can't bear to leave?" Anthony asked.
