Chapter 471 Saved

Sammy took a deep breath and approached Susan.

Susan freaked out, going pale. "I'm Caleb's girl. Touch me, and he'll destroy you."

Sammy hesitated. Risking his life for money didn't seem worth it.

Suddenly, a slap hit Susan hard, making her dizzy and tasting blood.

"Bitch, didn't you always deny being with my husband? Now you admit it? Hypocrite!"

Another slap followed, and Grace felt a rush of satisfaction.

"What are you waiting for? Hurry up before the cops show up!"

Sammy paused but couldn't resist the money.

"Let me go."

"Don't touch me," Susan screamed.

Sammy covered her mouth and started tearing at her clothes. Susan struggled, tears streaming down her face.

Help her, help her...

Caleb...

Her clothes were ripped.

"Hurry up!" Grace urged. "What if someone comes..."

"Who are you, and what are you doing?"

Just as Grace finished, a few people approached.

"Damn it," Grace muttered. "Get her out of here!"

Sammy knocked Susan out, slung her over his shoulder, and carried her away.

Meanwhile...

It was eleven o'clock; they should be asleep by now.

Caleb stared at his phone. He didn't want to disturb her but really wanted to hear her voice. As he hesitated, the phone lit up.

He answered immediately.

"Uncle Caleb, it's me," Oliver's childlike voice came through.

"Oliver? Why are you calling so late?" Caleb was surprised.

"Uncle Caleb, is my mommy with you?"

Caleb frowned. "She's not home?"

"No, she went to meet a client at four and hasn't come back. She hasn't answered my calls. Isn't she with you?"

"I haven't seen her today."

Oliver got anxious. "Could something have happened to mommy? She always answers my calls, and it's so late now. I'm really worried."

Caleb was worried too. Grace wouldn't let it go, and if she did something to Susan...

Thinking of this, Caleb's face grew urgent. "Oliver, stay home. I'll find your mommy."

"Okay, please find her and keep her safe. I'm counting on you."

Caleb walked out quickly, making a call. "Find someone for me."

Susan didn't know how long she had been out.

A large basin of water splashed on her face, waking her up. She coughed violently.

Grace threw the basin aside. "Still pretending to be dead?"

Susan's hands were tied. She twisted her wrists, but the ropes were too tight. She couldn't move and shouted, "Help! Help!"

"Shout all you want. No one will hear you out here," Grace sneered, her smile twisted.

Grace squatted down and pulled out a knife.

Susan shrank back in fear.

"What? Scared? Didn't think of this when you went after my husband? You're older and uglier than me. He must be blind to fall for you."

Susan's face was swollen from the slaps.

"Grace, Caleb and I..."

"Still lying? Think I'm stupid?" Grace yanked Susan's hair. "He said he loves you and wants to divorce me for you. Are you proud of stealing my man?"

Grace's voice dripped with hatred.

"I've decided to take Oliver back to Novaria. I won't come back. Let me go, and I promise you'll never see me again."

"You think I trust a mistress's promise? If you had no designs on him, you wouldn't have come back. He didn't even know you existed. Why did you come back and ruin our family?" Grace grew more furious and raised her hand to stab her.

Susan closed her eyes and screamed, but the pain didn't come. She heard Grace's maniacal laughter.

"Ha, ha... You coward, so afraid of death?"

"Don't worry, I won't let you die so easily. I'll cut your face bit by bit and see how you seduce men then." Grace raised her hand.

"Wait a minute!" Sammy suddenly stopped her.

Grace turned back angrily. "What? Did she seduce you too? Can't bear it?"

"Of course not, but didn't you want me to rape her? If you cut her face and make it all bloody, it's disgusting. Let me finish first, then you can cut her however you want..." Sammy was still thinking about the $5 million. After Grace stepped aside, he confirmed again, "You'll give me the money, right?"

"Do you think I'd cheat you out of that little money?"

"And you'll send me abroad?"

"Stop talking nonsense," Grace shouted impatiently.

"Let me go, help..." Susan screamed in despair, tears streaming down her face.

At that moment, an off-road vehicle crashed through the gate and rushed in.

Caleb jumped out, fists clenched, like a demon from hell.

Caleb, he finally came. Susan's face was full of tears. Before she passed out, she saw him kick Grace away.

"No, no, don't touch me... let me go..." Susan woke up screaming, flailing her hands wildly.

"Susan, it's me. You were having a nightmare. It's okay!" Caleb comforted her.

"Caleb? I, I..."

"It's okay. I got there in time. He didn't do anything to you."

Susan finally breathed a heavy sigh of relief, but the lingering fear and grievance made her cry uncontrollably.

"I was so scared. If you had come a little later, I would have..."

"I won't be late, never. I won't let anything happen to you." Caleb stroked her face.

Susan's nose tingled, and she broke down, crying in his arms. She had been pretending to be strong, holding back her tears. But she was just an ordinary woman, bearing too much grievance, on the verge of collapse.

Tears flowed uncontrollably, soaking Caleb's chest. He let her cry, venting all her pent-up frustration.

Susan cried for a long time, until her tears dried up, her throat hoarse, unable to make a sound, and she was exhausted, sobbing.

"Had enough crying?" Caleb smiled indulgently.

But in the next second.

A loud slap.

Five fiery finger marks appeared on Caleb's handsome face.
