Chapter 674 Send Her Abroad
Saffron couldn't stand Juniper, all because of pure jealousy.
She always had to put on this fake sweet girl act, but Juniper? Nah, she just did whatever she wanted and still got all the love and attention.
Saffron narrowed her eyes, wishing she could smack Juniper around a bit to blow off some steam.
Saffron thought, 'Juniper's such a pain. Just picturing her writhing in pain and screaming makes me feel better. Why can't I actually do it? Damn it!'
"You've got enough of your own mess to deal with, so why mess with others? Watch out. If you get tangled up with that once-in-a-century jerk Douglas, you'll regret it."
"Bitch." In a fit of rage, Saffron pressed hard on the wound on Juniper's back.
Juniper screamed in pain but immediately fought back. She grabbed the lamp on the bedside table and smashed it into Saffron's face. Saffron was hit so hard she felt dizzy and fell to the ground.
"Juniper!" Saffron wanted to tear her apart. "How dare you hit me? If you hurt my baby, I'll kill you."
"Bring it on, we'll go down together." Juniper shouted back.
Saffron didn't expect Juniper to be so fierce even when injured. She was a bit scared by her shout.
'Why am I scared of Juniper? I'm such a wimp,' Saffron thought.
"You just wait and see!" Saffron ran out crying to complain.
As soon as she stepped out, the maid stood trembling at the door. "Ms. Cooper."
Saffron raised her hand and slapped the maid hard. "If you dare give Juniper medicine, you're fired."
"But Mr. Cooper..."
Saffron snapped, "Didn't you hear? Juniper's about to be shipped off. From now on, I'm in charge here. You dare go against me?"
"I don't dare." The maid shook her head frantically. Juniper might have been a diva with a bad temper, but she never hit the staff. Saffron, on the other hand, looked like a delicate doll and always talked about charity, but was actually super violent. People like her were terrifying.
In the study.
Saffron was crying.
Elara said, "Honey, this keeps happening. You can't keep indulging Juniper, or she'll kill us all."
Aaron had taken his medicine and was trying to rest, his head aching. "Call a doctor. What do you want me to do?"
Elara asked, "That's so irresponsible of you. Aren't you going to stand up for Saffron?"
Aaron had lost count of how many times this had happened. He was already fed up.
Aaron complained, "Who told her to provoke Juniper? You know well that she has a bad temper."
Saffron retorted, "Dad, I didn't provoke Juniper. I saw she was hurt and was worried about her, so I brought her medicine. I didn't expect her to hit me with a lamp. Dad, I almost got disfigured, and your grandchild was almost lost. I've never said a bad word about Juniper, but this time, she really went too far. If she stays in this house, I might not only lose my baby but also my life."
Aaron said, "You're exaggerating, making her sound like a murderer."
Elara chimed in, "Honey, this time she didn't just push, but hit with a lamp. How is that different from murder? You dote on her, but don't you care about Saffron's baby who is your first grandchild?"
Aaron waved them off, clearly annoyed. "Stop nagging. I said I'd think about it. Now, both of you, get out. I'm sleeping in the study tonight."
"Honey..."
"Dad..."
"Get out! Stop bugging me!" Aaron shouted.
Elara and Saffron left, their faces twisted in frustration.
"Even now, Dad won't kick that bitch out. Mom, am I really your kid?" Saffron fumed.
Elara snapped back, "Of course, you are. But Juniper was born first, and your dad's got a soft spot for her. Plus, he always wanted a son. He still feels guilty about Juniper's mom. If I hadn't played my cards right, he would've paid me off ages ago, and I wouldn't be Mrs. Cooper."
Elara knew deep down that Aaron's favorite was Juniper, and she and Saffron were just background noise. Despite his age, he still had women on the side. If she hadn't pretended to be okay with it, she wouldn't have lasted this long.
Saffron grumbled, "But I can't keep getting pushed around. My head was almost smashed today."
Elara sighed, "You shouldn't have poked the bear. You know she's got a nasty temper."
"How was I supposed to know? She's usually all tough, but I saw her lying there like a dead fish. I thought..." Saffron regretted it deeply. But whenever she saw Juniper, she couldn't control her anger and wanted to fight her.
"Just hang tight. I'll keep working on your dad. If I nag him enough, he'll send her abroad." Now that Juniper didn't have Anthony's backing, Elara felt confident. She reassured Saffron, "If he could ship that little brat off once, he can do it again. Don't worry."
"Really?"
Elara nodded, "Yeah, leave it to me. You just take care of my future grandchild."
"How do you know it's a grandson? What if it's a daughter, Mom?" Saffron had been having nightmares about having a daughter and waking up scared. Once, she even dreamed that the doctor said it was a girl, and she threw her out the window.
She was shocked at her own ruthlessness.
She thought she couldn't be that cruel, but if it was a girl, she wouldn't like her either.
It was really annoying.
Elara comforted her, "I had a fortune teller predict it. He said it's definitely a son and will be very successful in the future, so don't worry. Be good. Don't overthink."
"Got it." Saffron replied.
Juniper called the maid several times, but the maid didn't respond. Eventually, she fell asleep from the pain.
When she woke up, her back hurt less, but it still burned when she moved.
It was seven o'clock, and she had to get up for work.
Juniper forced herself up, washed up, and rushed out before Aaron could confine her. She went to a nearby pharmacy and paid a female doctor to apply medicine and bandage her before heading to work.
She arrived out of breath and sweating.
She panted and asked, "I didn't miss the time, did I?"
"I reminded you yesterday that today would be busy with meetings and asked you to come half an hour early to organize materials. But you arrived just on time. Are you doing this on purpose?" Mira's attitude was bad.
Juniper retorted, "No, I..."
Mira interrupted her, "Don't let this happen again. Time is tight, so hurry and come with me to get the materials."
"Okay." Juniper replied.
