Chapter 18 Get a Room

Layla recognized the license plate.

The back window rolled down, revealing Samuel's face, which drew gasps from the girls waiting at the bus stop.

"Such a handsome man."

"Is that a Rolls-Royce with a driver? He must be loaded."

Layla was speechless, her brows furrowing, and asked, "Why is it you again?"

"Just a coincidence," Samuel replied curtly, his cold, handsome face captivating everyone.

Layla didn't believe him and asked, "Don't tell me you're here to pick up your passengers at the bus stop."

Samuel replied, "Since you know I came specifically to pick you up, get in the car."

Did he even ask if she wanted to?

Layla didn't like his overbearing attitude.

"Is she the handsome guy's girlfriend? She looks pretty average and acts so aloof."

"She doesn't know what's good for her. If I had such a handsome boyfriend, I wouldn't dare get mad at him."

"I wish I could take her place and get in the car..."

Layla was once again speechless by the women fascinated with beauty.

"We haven't discussed compensation yet," Samuel's cold, magnetic voice came.

Layla had no choice but to get in the car and close the door. She asked, "Alright, how do you want me to pay you back?"

'Pay back with your body,' Samuel thought.

If he said that, Layla would definitely call him a pervert.

Of course, if she did, it would be charming and make his heart itch.

Samuel suggested a late-night snack so he could spend more time with her.

Samuel said, "Treat me to a late-night snack, and I can reduce your debt. If I'm in a good mood, I might knock off thirty or fifty thousand dollars."

Layla was tempted and remarked, "However, I can't afford anything expensive, and you wouldn't like anything cheap." He looked very picky.

He said, "Tell me."

"There's a taco shop behind our school." She had eaten there for four years and never got tired of it. As graduation approached, it was what she would miss most.

Samuel agreed, "That'll do."

She was stunned. "Are you sure? I don't think you'd like cheap food."

Samuel said meaningfully, "You can't judge people just by their appearance. You have to use your heart."

"My heart tells me you're a big jerk," Layla immediately replied.

Samuel's eyes deepened. He asked, "Did your heart also tell you that this big jerk finds you very interesting?"

Layla pouted. "Interesting? I'm not a pet, Samuel."

Samuel was intrigued by her.

If he had such a cute little pet, life would never be boring. After all, a life filled only with battles and work could sometimes be tiresome.

Samuel ordered, "Drive her to the school's back gate."

The driver answered, "Yes, Mr. Holland."

The restaurant was a small shop.

"Layla, long time no see," a smiling old lady in her sixties greeted them.

"Yes, Ma'am, I've missed you," Layla said sweetly.

"Did you miss me or my cooking?" The owner asked.

"Both," Layla said playfully.

It was the first time Samuel had seen her so relaxed. She was more affectionate with the taco shop owner than with him. Clearly, she was only resistant and hostile towards him.

The owner's eyes lit up on Samuel's face. She asked, "Is this your boyfriend? He is very mature."

Layla inquired, "Ma'am, are you saying he's a bit old?"

The shop owner replied, "He is mature. Mature men are good. They know how to take care of people. In all my years, I've never seen such a handsome man."

Samuel exuded an air of arrogance, merely glancing at Layla.

Layla snorted. "You're such a show-off."

The shop owner asked, "Is it the usual taco for you? What about your boyfriend?"

"The same as her," Samuel replied.

"No, I want the spicy taco. You can't handle that; give him the mildly spicy one," Layla said.

Samuel was taken aback, feeling a strange sensation in his heart.

As the leader of a multinational corporation, he was accustomed to giving orders, and no one dared to make decisions on his behalf.

However, he didn't mind this new feeling.

"Why are you staring at me? Sit down," Layla said as she sat down. She was glad the place was empty except for them. If there were other female students, there would definitely be a chorus of praise.

She had experienced this when she was dating Vincent.

Vincent wasn't even as good-looking as him.

However, from this angle, Vincent did bear a slight resemblance to him.

"If you're gonna keep staring at me like that, we might as well get a room, huh?" Samuel said, raising an eyebrow with a hint of flirtation.
