Chapter 867 Broke a Leg

"I want to, I really want to, I want it so much!" Kieran nodded vigorously.

Juniper's red lips curved into a smile as she said, "I'm not telling you."

"You're definitely going to have no friends if you keep this up!" Kieran was speechless.

"By the way, have they found Saffron yet?"

Juniper shook her head.

"She's been missing for three days. Do you think something might have happened to her?"

"What could happen to her? She's definitely hiding on purpose to make my dad worry."

"Then why can't they find her? And why hasn't she used her credit card?"

"She withdrew a large amount of cash. She's probably hiding in some hotel right now. I know her tactics; she's doing this to make my dad anxious, then she'll cry and beg him to change his mind about sending her abroad."

"Do you think your dad will change his mind?"

"Sixty percent chance. The longer she hides, the more likely my dad will change his mind."

Kieran nodded, "Seems like she's not completely stupid."

"She's just being clever in a foolish way."

On the fifth day of Saffron's disappearance, Elara cried until her voice was hoarse.

"Still no sign of Saffron? What if something happened to her? You've sent so many people out, how come there's no news at all? Are they all useless?"

"Something must have happened, otherwise they would have found her by now."

"Saffron, my daughter, if anything happens to you, I won't live either."

Elara wailed and glared at Juniper, "I won't let you off even if I die. I'll drag you down with me."

"Why are you saying this now? What does this have to do with Juniper? I think she's just hiding to make me worry," Aaron said, though he was also a bit anxious inside.

It's normal for Saffron to hide, but it's not normal that the people he sent couldn't find her.

Two more days passed. At 8:30 PM, Aaron received a kidnapping call.

"Your daughter Saffron is with me. Prepare $100 million, or I'll kill her."

"$100 million? I don't have that much money right now."

"Do you think I'm stupid? The Cooper Group is such a big company, and you can't come up with that amount? No money, and I'll kill her. If you dare call the police, I'll kill her right now."

"Dad, Dad—save me, save me!" Saffron cried out.

The call ended.

"Saffron's been kidnapped?" Elara panicked. "They want $100 million? Give it to them quickly."

"We can't give it," Juniper said.

"Is your daughter worth less than $100 million?" Elara grabbed Aaron, "Do you have any conscience? What's more important, money or your daughter?"

"Calm down, don't shout."

"Saffron's been kidnapped, how can I calm down!" Elara cried.

"Dad, call the police," Juniper said.

Elara screamed, "No! If you call the police, they'll kill her. Juniper, are you trying to get my daughter killed?"

Juniper frowned and said calmly, "Do you think the kidnappers will keep their word? Even if you give them the money, there's a high chance they'll kill her to silence her."

She disliked Saffron, but she wasn't cruel enough to want her dead.

After all, a life was at stake, and Aaron would be heartbroken if Saffron died.

Besides, they shared half the same blood.

"Juniper is right."

"No, no—" Elara screamed, "Aaron, you just don't want to part with the money. For $100 million, you're sending your daughter to her death. How can you be so cruel!"

Aaron scolded, "Stop shouting. I'm doing this for Saffron's safety. Juniper makes sense; calling the police is the only way. The police will definitely find her."

"You're sending her to her death. We can't call the police!"

"I'll contact Alfonso at the police department right now and have him find the best elite team. They will definitely rescue Saffron!"

Elara couldn't stop him and collapsed to the ground, crying, "If anything happens to Saffron, Aaron, Juniper, I won't let you off."

That night, the Cooper Villa was brightly lit.

Aaron stayed by the phone, anxious and full of self-blame, "If I hadn't said I was sending her abroad, she wouldn't have run away, and this wouldn't have happened. What if, what if she really..."

His eyes reddened, on the verge of tears.

"Dad, she will be fine. The police will rescue Saffron unharmed. Don't worry too much," Juniper comforted him.

But no one could predict the actual situation. She certainly didn't want anything to happen to Saffron either.

How did they encounter kidnappers? How did they know Saffron was a Cooper?

Saffron ran away with cash, clearly not wanting Aaron to know, so she wouldn't have publicized it. She wouldn't have bought anything expensive to attract attention either.

In any case, Juniper found the kidnapping suspicious. There must be more to it.

The kidnappers likely knew Saffron, but she didn't know who Saffron usually associated with, so she had no suspects for now.

Regardless, rescuing Saffron was the top priority.

They couldn't do anything but wait at home for news.

"Dad, why don't you get some sleep? I'll wake you if there's any news."

"Saffron's been kidnapped. How can I sleep?"

The three of them stayed by the phone, their eyes red from exhaustion.

Just before dawn, the phone suddenly rang.

"Aaron, Saffron has been rescued. She's in the hospital. Come quickly."

The three rushed to the hospital.

The doctor came out of the emergency room and took off his mask.

"Doctor, is my daughter okay?"

"Ms. Cooper is still unconscious but not in life-threatening danger."

Elara was about to breathe a sigh of relief when the doctor said, "But one of her legs was broken by the kidnappers."

"Broken?" Elara was struck by lightning, "You mean she'll be crippled?"

"Doctor, my daughter is still young. She hasn't even married yet. She can't be crippled. Doctor, please save her."

"Money, I'll give you a lot of money. Just fix my daughter's leg. Doctor, I'm begging you." Elara knelt before him.

The doctor quickly helped her up, "I'm sorry, there's nothing I can do."

"It's all your fault. If you two hadn't insisted on calling the police, the kidnappers wouldn't have broken Saffron's leg! It's all your fault!" Elara screamed in hatred.

"Juniper, it's all your fault!"

"Saffron is crippled now. Are you satisfied?"

"I didn't expect this to happen," Juniper mumbled, feeling bad inside.

"Yes, you didn't expect it. You were hoping Saffron would die!"

"Give me back my daughter's leg, give it back!" Elara pulled at Juniper, who didn't resist.

"Don't be like this. No one could have predicted this."

"Get away! If it weren't for you refusing to pay, Saffron wouldn't have had her leg broken!" Elara knelt down and cried, "My poor Saffron."

"What did I do wrong, God? It should be Juniper's leg that's broken, not hers!"
