Chapter 860 I Know My Mistake

Saffron was detained at the police station for three days and nights. Elara was causing a ruckus at home every day, crying and wailing, making the house unbearable.

Not only that, she even went to the company to make a scene, and Juniper had to have security drag her out.

On the fourth day, when Juniper returned home, she heard Elara crying and making a fuss in the living room and wanted to turn around and leave.

"How could I marry someone so heartless to his own daughter? My life is so miserable. Why don't you send me in to accompany Saffron too?"

"I don't want to live anymore, just let me die."

Aaron was getting a headache from her antics, his gray hair visibly increasing.

"Stop crying!"

"Stop crying already!"

Elara cried even harder.

"Alright, alright, I'll let her go, okay?"

Elara immediately stopped crying, her eyes still wet with tears. "Really?"

"If I don't let her go, won't you cry the house down?" Aaron was at his wit's end.

"I originally wanted to use this to teach her a lesson so she wouldn't dare next time. It's all because of you, a doting mother spoils the child. If she causes bigger trouble in the future, let's see how you handle it."

"She won't, she won't. I'll definitely educate her well." Elara said, sniffling and wiping her tears. "Hurry up and make the call."

"Let's wait for Juniper to come back. I need to ask her opinion."

"You—"

"You're her father, you should have the final say. Why let her decide? Has this family already become her domain? Will Saffron and I have no status in this house anymore? Are we going to be bullied to death by her?"

"Juniper won't bully you. Just don't cause trouble yourselves."

"What trouble could we cause? It's clearly her bullying us. Saffron's situation was all her doing!"

"You still think that way." Aaron shook his head in disappointment. "Then I can't expect you to educate our daughter properly. She'll stay detained until she learns to reflect."

"No, I was wrong, honey. We won't dare anymore. I'll educate Saffron well, honey..."

Rely on Elara to educate Saffron properly? Maybe in the next life. This old shrew would only be an accomplice; otherwise, Saffron wouldn't have turned out this way.

Juniper walked in.

"Release Saffron immediately!" Elara rushed to her. "Your dad already agreed! Let her go!"

Juniper glanced at Aaron. "Dad, is this your decision?"

"What do you think is best?" Aaron still wanted to ask her opinion.

"You promised me just now!" Elara panicked. If Juniper decided, Saffron would never get out of the police station.

"Then let her go."

To Elara's surprise, Juniper agreed readily.

She frowned suspiciously. "What scheme are you up to now?"

"Then should we not let her go?"

"Let her go! You just agreed!" Elara shouted.

"Then I'll call the police station." Aaron nodded and sternly warned Elara, "I'm warning you, if Saffron doesn't learn her lesson, I'll send her abroad, and she won't come back."

"I know, I know." Elara only wanted to get her daughter out quickly.

She went to the police station to pick up Saffron, hugging her and crying her heart out.

"Saffron, why is your life so hard, having such a heartless father who locked you up."

Saffron, after being detained for a few days without food or drink, didn't lose weight but looked even more bloated and puffy, with a very poor spirit, disheveled hair, and sunken eyes.

"It was Juniper, it must have been Juniper. Otherwise, Dad wouldn't have treated me like this!" Saffron's eyes were full of hatred.

"She definitely had a hand in it, but your dad is also cruel, willing to let his own daughter suffer in that hellhole. I thought about you every day, crying my eyes out."

"I won't let Juniper get away with this!"

"Don't fight her now, take care of yourself. Don't go to the company anymore, just stay home."

"No, I want to go back to the company! The Cooper Group will be mine, I can't let that bitch Juniper have it!"

"If you want the company, we can find another way. You don't need to confront her directly. Haven't you suffered enough?"

So much had happened in the past month, even ending up in the police station. Elara was truly scared.

Compared to the Cooper Group, Saffron was more important.

She finally understood that Saffron really didn't have the talent for it. Even if she went to the company, she wouldn't achieve anything and would only be bullied by Juniper.

"Are you saying I can't beat Juniper?"

"That's not what I mean, but that bitch is too vicious. I don't want to see you suffer anymore."

Saffron asked angrily, "So I should just let her bully me, live off her scraps, and watch her face to survive?"

"Mom, how can you be so cowardly and stupid now? Waiting for Juniper to give us handouts, when Dad dies, will she take care of us? She'll let us starve on the streets!"

"We must fight her to the end, it's either her or us!"

"Alright, alright, let's not talk about this now. Let's go home. Your dad is very upset about this. No matter how much resentment you have, don't say anything harsh in front of him. Be good, okay?"

At the Cooper Villa.

Aaron saw the haggard Saffron and, as a father, felt a bit of pity.

But he wasn't a blind, doting father; that would only make his daughter more unruly and lead to bigger mistakes. So, he had to be strict.

"Do you know what you did wrong? Have you learned your lesson?" Aaron asked coldly.

Elara nodded quickly. "She knows, she knows. She's learned her lesson."

Saffron felt disdain and contempt for Elara's cowardice. Living without any dignity, she might as well be dead.

"I'm asking her, not you."

"Saffron, say it quickly."

Saffron gritted her teeth, unwilling to say something she didn't mean.

"What? You still don't know your mistake?" Aaron's face darkened with anger.

She didn't think she was wrong, so why should she admit it? Saffron thought indignantly, but sometimes, for the long-term plan, she had to bow her head.

She finally swallowed her pride and said, "I know my mistake."

"Your attitude doesn't seem like you know your mistake."

"She really knows her mistake. She's just scared from being detained for a few days." Elara quickly explained. "Let her go upstairs to rest first. We can talk about it tomorrow, okay?"

"You'll stay home from now on. Don't go out for the next half month. I've already resigned for you from the company. You won't be going back."

Saffron panicked. "I don't want to resign. I want to go to work."

"Haven't you caused enough trouble? Do you want to bring down the Cooper Group? I never expected you to achieve anything, but I didn't expect you to cause trouble repeatedly, never learning from your mistakes."
