Chapter 718 Where Did You Sleep Last Night?

Anthony shot her a look, "Did you seriously forget?"

It was like she did something totally out there.

Juniper felt like bawling. She regretted it so much she wanted to smash her head against the wall. She thought, 'Why did I drink? What was I thinking? Why did I pick a fight with a celeb I don't even know? Now I feel like a total idiot.'

"I don't remember anything. If I did something dumb, just forget about it," Juniper said, shaking.

Anthony thought, 'Forget? Forget that she touched and teased me last night? Forget that she drunkenly shouted she liked me? Yeah, right. That scene's burned into my brain.'

He gave a sly smile. "What if I can't forget?"

She must've done something really nuts. Juniper wanted to vanish into thin air.

She was on the verge of tears.

"Mr. Eilish, some things really aren't worth remembering," Juniper said, almost crying.

Anthony nodded. "Yeah, true."

Some things weren't worth remembering, like the awkwardness between them.

Anthony added, "But some things are worth remembering forever."

Juniper asked, "What did I do that was so crazy? Please tell me. I'm freaking out."

Her almost-crying face was pitiful and kinda cute.

Anthony now knew she had feelings for him, which made him feel chill. So, he wasn't rushing to confess. He wanted to take it slow, get to know each other better. After all, the flirty phase of a relationship could be pretty sweet.

Feelings sometimes needed time to grow.

Anthony said, "Hurry up and eat something, then get some sleep."

"I can't sleep..." Juniper's heart was pounding, and she just wanted to know what happened last night.

Anthony teased, "Want me to hold you while you sleep?"

Juniper was totally shocked, thinking, 'Is Anthony messing with me? Doesn't he already have a girlfriend? How could he be acting like Ronnie?'

Seeing her freaked-out expression, Anthony found it secretly hilarious. This girl still thinks Hera and I are a thing. But that's cool. Let her think that for a bit. Sometimes jealousy can make someone realize their true feelings, just like when she's with Ronnie, I know I've already fallen for her. Love's never easy; feelings that go through a lot are more solid. I believe we can make it. For now, I don't want to scare her. I kinda like our current vibe.'

"Just kidding."

"I knew you were kidding..." Juniper laughed awkwardly. If it wasn't a joke, that would be a disaster. Anthony was definitely not that kind of guy! It was better to keep some distance.

Juniper said, "Mr. Eilish, don't we have a meeting at ten this morning? It's almost time..."

"It's been pushed back."

"Pushed back? Why?" Juniper was surprised.

"You drank too much last night. Take the morning to chill and recover."

Wasn't she holding up work? Juniper panicked. "Mr. Eilish, I'm fine, I..."

She quickly stood up, and her knee smacked the table.

Ouch.

She winced.

"Sit down already. Where did you hit?" Anthony helped her rub her knee. "Why are you so clumsy, always bumping into stuff? Are you still a kid?"

His scolding tone was full of concern.

Juniper didn't care about the pain; she was more scared.

Juniper thought, 'Anthony, please don't be so nice to me. What I fear most now is you being nice to me. When you ignore me, it hurts, but at least I can keep my feelings in check. When you're nice, I fall for you, get greedy, and turn into someone I can't stand.'

"I'm fine." Juniper quickly pulled her leg back.

"Promise me you'll take things slower in the future and not rush, okay?"

Juniper bit her lip, unable to refuse his kindness, and softly agreed, "Okay."

Her obedient look made Anthony want to hold her and cherish her gently.

Juniper usually liked to act tough, as if she feared nothing, but she was just a little woman.

"If there's nothing this morning, I'll go back to my room first." Juniper wanted to slip away.

Anthony said, "Stay here. If you have the energy, look over the contract."

"I can look at it in my own room."

Anthony retorted, "It's easier to communicate when we're together."

That was true.

Juniper bit her lip and finally agreed, "Okay, I'll go to the bathroom first."

Her ears were burning. She was losing control and rushed to the bathroom, finding her face even redder than she thought, like an apple.

She thought she was so useless, unable to hide her feelings at all.

She splashed some water on her face, pinched her cheeks. She kept reminding herself. "Juniper, calm down! You can do this! Don't be a homewrecker who will be punished. You'll go to hell, and people will talk about you for the rest of your life. Absolutely not!"

She heard her phone ring and rushed out, seeing Ronnie's name flashing on the screen.

Anthony also saw the name.

For a moment, she panicked, not knowing whether to answer, but a thought flashed through her mind, and she quickly picked up and deliberately spoke in a sweet, coquettish voice, "Hello, darling."

Anthony's eyes darkened.

On the other end, Ronnie paused. "Are you alone with Anthony?"

"Darling, do you miss me? I miss you too..." Juniper said coyly, walking to the side.

"Is it fun to act? Juniper, you're digging your own grave, you know that?" Ronnie's voice sounded angry.

Juniper pulled the curtain closed and explained, "We're working."

"Alone? In a hotel?"

Juniper looked around nervously. Was he watching her?

She didn't know what to say.

Ronnie coldly said, "Don't try to lie to me. I can tell when you're lying."

Juniper forced a laugh. "You're really something."

Ronnie angrily said, "Do you think I'm in the mood to joke with you? You're asking for trouble, you know that? You knew you'd be alone with him before you went on this trip, but you still went. And now you're alone in a room with him. What are you doing? Do you want to become the kind of person you hate the most?"

Every sentence pierced Juniper's heart, leaving her speechless and ashamed.

Her ears turned red.

Ronnie continued, "If you don't want to make a mistake, then fly back immediately, or I'll come get you. Stop acting. You're fooling no one, not me, not him, not even yourself!"

"I'm sorry, Ronnie..." Juniper felt utterly ashamed.

Ronnie interrupted her furiously, "You're not sorry to me but sorry to yourself. Juniper! This is self-destructive behavior! I don't even know how to scold you to wake you up. I'm so mad at you. Do you know I didn't sleep all night, worried about you and him..."

"Nothing happened between us," Juniper quickly said.

Ronnie asked, "Really? Then where did you sleep last night?"
