Chapter 772 The Cooper Family Has Only One Heir

Just look at Saffron's guilty expression, and Juniper was 100% sure that she was carrying a girl.

A woman like Saffron, who could accept using a child as a tool to marry Douglas, must have secretly done a check-up long ago.

If it were a boy, wouldn't she have announced it to the world?

Her stammering and shrinking back only meant one thing: it's a girl.

Juniper was extremely disgusted by the idea of using a child as a tool to marry into a wealthy family. How was this different from gambling or trading benefits?

Saffron, being a woman herself, could accept this. She had truly lost all morals for money.

A scumbag and a shameless woman together were a perfect match; at least they wouldn't harm anyone else!

Douglas was also a bit suspicious. "I'll take you for a check-up tomorrow."

"I, I've been feeling unwell lately. The doctor said I can't do a check-up," Saffron evaded.

"Then when can you?"

"Next week."

'By next week, the child will definitely be gone,' Saffron thought viciously.

"Really can't do it tomorrow?"

"You, you can't completely disregard my health for the sake of the child, can you?"

Douglas frowned and hesitated for a moment. "Then I'll schedule a doctor for next Monday."

"Okay."

By then, the child would be gone.

Saffron glared viciously at Juniper.

Juniper saw a malicious scheme in her eyes. What was she planning?

But she couldn't guess the thoughts of a malicious woman and had no way to guard against it, feeling a bit uneasy.

"Dad just called you. Go ask him what it's about," Saffron said.

"Oh." Douglas knew she was giving him an out and took the opportunity to leave.

But before he left, he couldn't help but greedily glance at Juniper.

What a dangerous woman! She had nearly bewitched him completely.

This look deeply hurt Saffron again.

As soon as Douglas left, she immediately glared at Juniper with resentment.

"How dare you try to drive a wedge between Douglas and me, Juniper? Are you still not over Douglas?"

Not over Douglas?

Hearing this ridiculous joke, Juniper almost threw up on the spot.

"Are you out of your mind? That scumbag? I can't wait for a lightning bolt to strike him dead. But I think it won't be long. He's done so many despicable things; it's only a matter of time."

Juniper continued, "As for you, are you particularly disappointed to find out you're carrying a girl? Your mom was so sure that the fortune teller said it was a boy. You must have been overjoyed. How does it feel to realize you were scammed?"

"What makes you say I'm having a girl? I'm having a boy!" Saffron said, forcefully sticking out her belly.

Anyway, Juniper wouldn't know. If she said it was a boy, it was a boy.

"A lie can't become the truth. Whether it's a boy or a girl, we'll know when it's born."

"You're cursing me!" Saffron swung her hand to slap her, but Juniper caught it and picked up a pot with her other hand, glaring in warning.

"The water I didn't throw on Douglas' face earlier, do you want to take it for him?"

The water was already boiling, bubbling furiously.

Saffron screamed in fright. "You wouldn't dare!"

"Didn't you say I was vicious? Then it's not surprising for a vicious person to do such things, right? Knowing I'm not to be messed with and still coming to provoke me, are you asking for a beating? Don't think I won't hit you just because you're pregnant. If you really piss me off, I won't hold back."

"You..."

'Now's the time,' Saffron thought.

"Juniper, you're so mean!" Saffron shouted, pretending to be bullied and falling backward, but Juniper quickly grabbed her.

Saffron was caught off guard, her face stiffening.

"What? Trying to frame me again?"

"You..."

'Damn it, she noticed and stopped me,' Saffron thought angrily.

"Stop using these dirty tricks in front of me! Get lost!" Juniper flung her hand away.

Saffron stood there awkwardly. What should she do? Fall herself? It would be hard to blame it on Juniper.

'Damn it, this bitch is too cunning. She saw through my plan first!'

Saffron was furious, unwilling, and full of anger.

She clenched her fists tightly.

Juniper calmly cooked noodles and stirred eggs in her angry face. "What are you looking at? Believe it or not, I'll throw the eggs on your face?"

Saffron took a step back, gripping the stove tightly. "Stay away from Douglas. If you dare seduce him again, I won't let you off."

"Why would I seduce a despicable man? I'm afraid of getting a disease. You'd better get checked, so you don't harm the one in your belly. STDs can affect the next generation."

"Aren't you afraid God will punish you for your venomous mouth?"

"I'm just kindly reminding you. You know better than I do how many women he's messed around with outside. I admire your patience. What, afraid you won't get a share of the inheritance and be kicked out, so you're eager to latch onto the Phillips family?"

Juniper sneered, "Too bad you miscalculated. Douglas is very snobbish. You can't marry in with a girl. Even if you do, if the Cooper family doesn't accept you, do you think he'll keep you?"

Every word she said was what Saffron feared, haunted by these nightmares every night.

"Shut up! Don't say it!" Saffron's face flushed as she yelled at Juniper.

"I'm just telling you your miserable future in advance. What, can't bear to hear it? If you can't bear to hear it, can you bear to endure it?"

"You two old foxes, refusing to live quietly and causing trouble. If you get kicked out in the future, it's your own doing." Juniper laughed coldly.

"The Cooper family has only one heir, and that's me. Your life is in my hands. Begging me for mercy might work, but you dare provoke me. Why should I show mercy?"

"Saffron, you've done so many bad things before. Retribution is coming. Your good days and your mom's are numbered..." Juniper laughed coldly.

Saffron trembled, unable to breathe from fear.

At the dining table.

"Dad, is the pasta good?" Juniper asked.

"It's delicious, absolutely delicious. The pasta my daughter cooks is the best in the world." Aaron laughed heartily.

The pasta was salty, but it tasted sweet to him.

"If you like it, I'll cook it for you often."

"Good, then my health will surely recover quickly," Aaron said happily.

"Of course, you'll definitely live a long life."

Elara couldn't hold back and said sarcastically, "You say you hope your dad lives a long life, but in your heart, you can't wait for him to die soon so you can get the inheritance."

"You still dare to speak!" Aaron slammed the table. "Do I have to sew your mouth shut?"

"Honest advice is hard to hear but good for you. Even if you don't like it, I have to tell the truth. It's better than some people who are sweet-talking but have their eyes on the inheritance."

"You're always arguing, always talking about the inheritance. Who's really eyeing the money?" Juniper retorted.

Arguing about this repeatedly, she was really annoyed.
