Chapter 724 The Farther You Stay, the Better
Anthony didn't sleep all night. When he got up in the morning, both his temples were throbbing painfully, and he looked pale.
Around eight o'clock, his phone vibrated.
He picked it up and saw a message from Juniper. He hurriedly swiped to read it.
Juniper: [Mr. Eilish, I've gone back. Take a leave today.]
Anthony frowned, thinking, 'She actually took a car back overnight to avoid me. Does she hate me that much now? My behavior was indeed despicable...'
Anthony clenched his phone, his face pale.
Juniper took a car back home around three in the morning and arrived at seven, feeling dizzy and disoriented.
She took a nap and woke up at noon. She had no appetite, so she just made some oatmeal with milk.
Juniper thought, 'Since I'm going to resign, I can't stay here anymore. I can get half a month's salary, just enough to rent a small place.'
Thinking of this, she picked up her phone, ready to call Ronnie about moving out.
She felt a bit ashamed and felt sorry for Ronnie, even felt a sense of betrayal.
Ronnie didn't answer the first call.
Juniper waited half an hour and called again, but still no answer.
'Is he planning to ignore me? He has said that he won't care about my matters anymore. Just move out directly and disappear from his world. He has already given up on me, probably won't care anymore.' Juniper thought.
But she still wanted to see Ronnie one more time, to say goodbye.
Thinking of this, around five o'clock, Juniper arrived downstairs at the Woods Group.
She was lucky that she didn't wait long before Ronnie came out of the company.
"Ronnie..." Juniper hurried forward.
But Ronnie glanced at her and walked away coldly.
"Wait a minute. I have something to tell you." Juniper grabbed him.
Ronnie said coldly, "I have nothing to say to you."
"Ronnie..."
"I'm not your toy!" Ronnie shook off her hand. "You already have Anthony, so why are you looking for me? Don't tell me you feel guilty. No need. I'm not someone who can't take a loss."
"It was my fault. You can blame me however you want, but..."
Ronnie mocked, "Your fault? You've always been headstrong. How could you be wrong? Blaming you is even more impossible. What is our relationship? What right do I have to blame you?"
Juniper could tell he was very angry. It was all her fault.
Juniper said, "I wanted to tell you that I won't be staying in that house anymore. I'll move out tomorrow."
Ronnie felt like he had been hit with a hammer.
He didn't dare to hope Juniper wanted to come back to him, but he thought she at least felt guilty. But he didn't expect she came to say this.
How ridiculous he seemed.
Ronnie said, "Right. Now that you're with Anthony, it's indeed inappropriate to stay in my house. Anthony would be angry, right?"
"You misunderstood."
Ronnie said angrily, "Misunderstood what? You came back and immediately want to move out. Isn't that what it means? For someone like me, just kick me away. Why bother explaining? No need!"
"You really misunderstood, I..."
"Enough! Move if you want! Do whatever you want!" Ronnie didn't give her a chance to explain and walked away.
"Ronnie..." Juniper chased after him, not noticing a car coming.
Just as it was about to hit her, Ronnie suddenly rushed out and pulled her away.
His arm got hit, and Juniper clearly heard the collision.
Ronnie's face turned pale.
"Did you get hit? Does it hurt? I'll take you to the hospital," she said anxiously.
"Don't bother!" Ronnie tried to push her away, but his arm had no strength.
Cold sweat appeared on his forehead.
"You can be mad at me, but you can't refuse to go to the hospital out of spite. Let's go."
"I said don't bother." Ronnie yelled at her, "I don't need your sympathy! I'm just a second choice to you. Why waste your concern?"
"I never considered you my second choice."
Ronnie sneered. "Then I don't even have that qualification. But don't think too highly of yourself. Do you think I really like you, that I can't live without you? Don't be so self-righteous."
"You were right last time. I don't really like you. It's just that I didn't get you, and my desire to conquer took over. To put it bluntly, it was just a novelty. If we had a relationship, all women are the same."
"When I didn't get you, I thought I really liked you. But just last night, I was with another woman, and I realized I don't like you at all. If I really liked you, I wouldn't have been with another woman, right?"
Juniper interrupted him, "Let's not talk about this now. Going to the hospital is more important. What if your arm is broken?"
"That has nothing to do with you! Juniper, I find you annoying now. Get lost and don't ever appear in front of me again."
Ronnie's words were harsh, but his heart hurt the most, like being cut by a knife, bleeding all over.
The harshest words often came from the one who hurt the most.
"Ronnie..." Juniper felt terrible. She knew these were lies. She had hurt him.
But if she continued, she would only hurt him more.
She had to leave him, leave Anthony, and leave everyone. Someone like her should die alone!
She forced herself to be rational, her throat choked up.
"You're right. I'm that kind of person. I'm not worth your love. Don't worry. After I move out, I'll stay as far away as possible. You'll never see me again."
After saying this, she forced herself to turn away coldly.
At that moment, Ronnie panicked and reached out to grab her.
But Juniper walked too fast, and his fingers didn't touch her.
She walked away without looking back, truly heartless.
Ronnie felt like a toy she had abandoned, a piece of trash!
Juniper went home and couldn't help but cry.
She cried until after midnight, her eyes red and swollen.
The urgent doorbell rang, breaking the silence of the night.
She looked through the peephole and saw it was Ronnie.
Ronnie pounded on the door with his fist and shouted, "Juniper, open the door now! You heartless woman, damn you! I gave you my heart, and this is how you treat me?"
"You threw it on the ground, trampled on it, and now you want to tear it apart completely. Is there a more cruel woman in the world than you?"
"How can you be so ruthless? Juniper, open the door! I know you're in there! Come out now!"
Ronnie kicked the door hard, over and over.
The neighbors were all woken up and were very angry.
"Are you crazy? Making such a racket in the middle of the night?"
"Can't people sleep?"
"What's with the drunken rage?"
"Keep it up, and I'll call the police!"
"Call the police? I'll deal with you first!" Ronnie raised his fist, ready to punch him.
