Chapter 262 Super Helper

Susan thought to herself, ‘He's still as domineering as ever. I haven't agreed to park yet.’ However, seeing Oliver's joyful expression, Susan didn't object. Oliver had always been much more well-behaved than other children her age, so Susan allowed her to indulge this time. Plus, Caleb had helped her find her son today, so she still felt grateful toward him.

The three of them entered KFC, and Susan stopped Caleb from ordering with them. "You stay with Oliver; I'll go and order. I don't want you to buy too much and make him sick."

"Mister, let's sit here." Oliver climbed up onto the tall round chair like an agile little monkey, and playfully spun around.

Caleb found him quite adorable. Besides his own daughter, he had never cared much for other people's children.

"How old are you?"

"I'm three, almost four."

Three years old...

Caleb calculated the time in his mind. So, they had just broken up when she got pregnant.

"Mister, are you pursuing my Mommy?" Oliver's words carried a hint of anticipation. If he was, that would be great. Over these years, hardly any men had appeared by her mother's side, and he happened to be quite handsome. If they were to be together, he wouldn't object.

"Your Mommy is already married, so of course I wouldn't pursue her."

"Mommy is married? No, she's still single."

Single?

"Then, who is your Daddy?"

Oliver casually replied, "I don't have a Daddy. I haven't seen him. But I have the best Mommy in the whole world."

Caleb was even more surprised and glanced at Susan's back.

This woman had lied to him again!

She was becoming more skilled at lying, easily fooling him.

"You've never seen your Daddy? Your Mommy never mentioned him?"

Oliver shook his head. "Mommy said Daddy abandoned us."

"Do you miss him?"

"No, why would I miss someone I've never met?" Oliver asked in return. "Having Mommy is enough for me."

Caleb felt a bit sad. Parents always thought children were young and didn't understand anything, but deep down, they did. This child had never had a father since he was young, and it was all Susan's fault.

Susan came back carrying the children's meal and had also bought a toy for Oliver.

"Do you like it?"

"I like it. I like this toy the most," Oliver said happily. As a little boy like him, he no longer liked playing with toys. But in order to make his mother happy, he had to pretend to really like it. Plus, anything his mother bought for him was precious.

"Why are you looking at me like that?" Susan fed Oliver some fries while also sensing Caleb's strange gaze, making her feel slightly guilty.

What had she done wrong?

"You..." Caleb wanted to scold the woman who was full of lies, but he held back in front of the child and hummed discontentedly. "You're really stingy. Are you pretending I don't exist? You're a designer, and you can't even afford KFC?"

"That's because you don't like KFC."

"So, you still remember. I thought you had forgotten all about it," Caleb said coldly.

Susan was speechless. What was going on? Everything was fine just now, and suddenly he was so unhappy again.

"Oliver might not be able to finish all of this, so if you're hungry, you can have his food."

"You want me to take a child's food?"

"Mister, it's not called taking; It's called sharing. My Mommy taught me from a young age to be a good child who is willing to share. Here, take a bite of my ice cream cone." Oliver enthusiastically offered the ice cream cone to Caleb.

Caleb's expression softened, and he took a bite.

"Mommy, you should take a bite too."

Susan's face reddened slightly, and she said awkwardly, "I don't like ice cream cones."

"You're lying. Every time you come to KFC, you order ice cream cones."

She had been exposed without mercy. Susan felt a little embarrassed.

How come clever Oliver suddenly couldn't see through her intentions?

Unless he did it on purpose.

Seeing the anticipation in her son's eyes, Susan suddenly realized something and felt a tightness in her heart.

"What? Do you despise me? It's not like I haven't kissed you before."

"Caleb!" Susan interrupted him urgently, her face turning red.

Oliver immediately acted like a sensitive little hound, stretching his neck and perking up his ears to ask, "Mommy, have you kissed him before?"

"No, he's making things up." Susan gave Caleb a warning look, signaling him to shut up, but he continued, "I'm stating facts. Why are you hiding the truth? Adults need to set the right example and not lie in front of children."

"You..."

Susan wished she could use the ice cream cone to shut him up. "Please don't talk nonsense anymore."

"You know very well whether I'm talking nonsense or not."

Caleb was amused by her anxious appearance.

This woman also had a weakness, and her weakness was Oliver.

Realizing this, Caleb felt very satisfied.

Oliver alternated between looking at Susan, who had a flushed face, and at Caleb, who had a mischievous smile. He probably understood the truth. So, he couldn't help but giggle. Oliver knew everything, but he wouldn't say a word.

A couple walked in when Susan was in an embarrassing situation. The girl called her boyfriend and said, "Look, that's such a good-looking family of three. They're so happy to come to KFC together this late."

"Yeah," her boyfriend agreed and nodded.

"This scene makes me want to have a son too. But my looks won't allow me to have such a handsome son."

"Who says it’s not possible? Our son will grow up to look like his mother, so our son will definitely be more beautiful.”

"Stop."

Things were getting worse. They were mistaken for a family of three. Susan felt even more frustrated. They needed to leave here quickly.

So, she started feeding her son faster.

"Mommy, are you feeding the pigs?"

"It's getting late, hurry back and rest after you finish eating," Susan said as she fed another French fry into her son's mouth.

"I haven't swallowed yet. Mommy, are you trying to kill me?"

Susan felt both angry and amused. "How could I harm you?"

"Mommy, you said we should eat slowly, take small bites, and chew slowly. We shouldn't eat so quickly," Oliver said confidently and started eating slower. In his heart, he thought, 'I should eat slower to create opportunities for Mommy and Uncle Celeb to get along.'

He was really clever, but he was afraid of scaring his mother, so sometimes he acted a bit foolish in front of her.

What was this called, a super helper? Yes, he was really amazing!

He liked this handsome uncle. He wanted to thoroughly investigate whether this uncle was his biological father. Even if he wasn't, he could accept him as his stepfather.

He also looked forward to Susan giving birth to a cute little sister for him.

They stayed at KFC for almost an hour. By the time they reached the apartment building, it was already 11:30. After today's fright, Susan was exhausted, and Oliver had fallen asleep after eating his fill.

Susan got out of the car first, intending to pick up Oliver, but Caleb opened the other car door and carried him out before she could.
