Chapter 551: True Face

"Seriously? You think I'm that dumb? You're just playing the innocent card in front of me. I've seen through your act ages ago," Tyler sneered, his face red and voice rough. "You call me a faker, but aren't you tired of your own act? You're the queen of fake innocence!"

"Go to hell." May chucked a towel at his face and got up to leave.

"Where do you think you're going? Sit your ass down." Tyler yanked her back into his arms.

"Let go of me," May struggled.

But Tyler flipped her over and pinned her down.

"Tyler, what the hell are you doing? Let go of me." May said.

Tyler bit her like a wolf, kissing her neck and tearing at her clothes, "We're almost married. Let's just do it tonight."

"Not before marriage, let go, Tyler."

"Haha, who are you kidding with this pure act? It's not like you're a virgin. You're pushing thirty and still pretending to be some innocent schoolgirl? Pathetic."

"You think I'm pathetic?" May's eyes blazed.

"An old woman playing the pure and noble card, isn't that pathetic? I can't stand women like you," Tyler spat with disdain.

May was seething, "If you find me so pathetic, why are you marrying me?"

"Why? Because of Caleb, duh," Tyler sneered, his face morphing into that of a thug. "He introduced you to me, how could I say no? I wouldn't dare piss him off."

"May, you're lucky to have a sister like Susan. If it weren't for the chance to get in good with Caleb, do you think I'd be with an old woman like you?"

May felt humiliated and enraged. Tyler's words were like a whip, lashing her face, making it burn.
Even though Tyler's family had more money than hers, he always buttered her up, making her feel all high and mighty, like he was the one trying to impress her. But now, his harsh words hit her like a ton of bricks, crushing her pride.

May felt like she had been a pampered canary, soaking up Tyler's compliments.

But to him, she wasn't a canary at all, just a pathetic little sparrow.

Everything she had was because of Susan, riding on Susan's coattails!

She was nothing on her own, just someone he looked down on!

"Tyler, let go of me," May slapped him, seething with rage.

But as soon as she raised her hand, Tyler caught it. His once gentle smile twisted into something nasty, "Why are you mad? You should be grateful. With your plain looks, I wouldn't even glance your way. Marrying you? Do you even deserve it? Take a good look at yourself."

"My kindness to you is your luck, and you still act all high and mighty, making me kiss up to you. You think too much of yourself. May, are you delusional, not knowing your place?"

May's eyes filled with angry, bitter tears.

"Don't want to sleep with me? If it weren't for the future, why would I stoop to sleep with an old woman like you? There are plenty of younger, prettier ones out there."

"Tyler, you're a monster!" May spat angrily.

"Yeah, I'm a monster, and you have to deal with it!" Tyler said, ripping her clothes.

May screamed in pain, but it was no use. Tears streamed down her face.

Morning came.

Tyler woke up with a pounding headache.
He frowned, opened his eyes, and saw a figure beside him.

It was a woman wrapped in a bathrobe, sitting with her knees hugged.

Tyler thought he had drunkenly found a prostitute again. He lifted himself up and said, "Get me a glass of water."

"Go to hell!" May glared at him hatefully.

"May?" Tyler was startled. May glared at him like an angry lioness, with kiss marks on her neck.

Fragments of the previous night flashed before Tyler's mind. He had...

Drinking really caused trouble.

Tyler hurriedly apologized, "May, I'm sorry, I was out of control after drinking. I turn into a different person when I drink, I can't control myself. I did it because I love you too much, I couldn't help it..."

He held her shoulders, apologizing earnestly and anxiously, "We're going to get married anyway, can you forgive me? I swear I'll cherish you."

After crying all night, May's red-rimmed eyes looking at him coldly, "Tyler, stop pretending. I know what kind of person you are!"

"Did I say something wrong last night? You can't take drunken words seriously. I'm marrying you because I love you, not because of Caleb, May... Believe me, we're almost getting married, aren't we?"

May sneered, "One night at the restaurant, I saw you leave with a woman."

A flash of panic crossed Tyler's eyes. "What restaurant? I don't understand what you're saying. I've been working overtime at the bank these days. If you don't believe me, I can have my subordinates testify. You must have been drunk and mistaken."

"Really? Then the man drinking with another woman in Room 506 at Midnight Bar wasn't you?"
Tyler was shocked, his brow furrowing tightly. "You followed me? You don't trust me?"

"It's normal to play along when we men socialize outside. They all did it, if I didn't, I'd seem out of place."

"Tyler, I've seen through you, stop pretending. The more you pretend, the more disgusted I am," May looked at him like he was a cockroach.

At this point, Tyler knew he couldn't lie anymore, so he told the truth. "That's right, I'm marrying you because of Caleb. Anyway, you have to marry me!"

"I won't marry a beast like you, you raped me!" May said hatefully.

"It's not like you haven't had sex before, what's the big deal," Tyler said, completely unashamed. "Besides, if you really didn't plan to marry me, you would have left last night, not waited until now."

"Admit it, May. Even if you know what kind of person I am, you'll still marry me, because you know very well what your own options are. You can't find a better man than me."

May tried to slap him again, but this time she still didn't succeed.

Tyler grabbed her hand and mocked, "Why are you so angry? Did I hit a nerve? Look at yourself, a woman pushing thirty and still not married. There's got to be a reason: weird personality, pretentious, not as good-looking as Susan, and only running a small music school."

"I don't even care about your shabby music schools. It makes me sick that you really think you've achieved something great, acting so noble in front of me."

"But you're lucky to have a sister like Susan. If it weren't for her, who would want to marry you? You'd have to settle for some ordinary divorced guy, and even they might not want you."
